I have had A Cut Above Tree Service trim and remove trees twice in the past few years, most recently this month. They trimmed several large trees and removed about 10 trees, dead and living, for fuel reduction and other reasons. They are on time, on schedule, sawed the logs into firewood lengths, chipped debris and removed it and left the areas where they worked cleaned up. They also mowed down a large area of blackberries. Since moving onto our property in March and discovering the large number of trees needing removal, we contacted this company for an estimate. Gerry patiently walked the property with us, giving us his professional insight on the best plan for improving our fire risk and the health of our "forest". Over a couple months and several days, Gerry and his crew felled several trees, bucked them to splitting size and fought off stinging wasps in the process. Some trees needed climbing to be cut down, some needed the safety of the bucket truck. All were done safely and quickly (and I suspect extra were done "just because" they needed it and were handy). He also limbed many trees and now they look clean and majestic. We highly recommend Gerry and will continue to use A Cut Above Tree Service for our ongoing tree issues. read more

Gerry Rylander was here for a bid to remove one large, dead fir tree. He was under bid and did not get the job....BUT....he was personable, professional and informative. I liked... "the cut of his jib" as the old saying goes. He gave me advice on an adjacent fir that looks a bit diseased, but did not push me to have it removed. His Better Half, Sara answers the phone promptly and is pleasant, also. So, I will call him again should future tree problems arise...and perhaps you should call him for your problems. A neighbor used this company. They either trimmed a tree or removed it. Don't know how they did with the tree. My issue was the mess they left in my yard and in front of my house which was across the street from where they worked. read more

I am extremely happy with the service provided by Gerry and his great crew. Gerry was knowledgeable and professional when he came to give an estimate a couple of days after my initial call. We walked the property and went over everything that needed trimming and removal. A few weeks later he and his crew arrived 15 minutes early and got right to work on everything we went over. Gerry arrived quickly for the estimate. He and his crew not only showed up on time for the trimming, but arrived early. Work was done well, and the crew cleaned up nicely after. I'll be using A Cut Above for future work. With tree services you find a lot of fly-by-night outfits run by guys who are not particularly professional or on time. Not the case here. This company almost caused us to have a car accident while driving north on highway 5 by cutting us off while we were driven in the right lane pulling a trailer with our 2 young children in the car. Should have more consideration for their community will never use this company. I am appalled. read more

On time to give an estimate to remove our problem pine tree. Arrived when promised to remove the tree and the work was done professionally. The clean up following the removal left the area better than before. The price was quite fair (and that is not always true with tree services). Highly recommended! read more

We had a very large fir tree with a dead top. Jerry came quickly when called for an estimate, arrived early for the job, and proceeded to work quickly. He used great judgement in where to place the limbs and tree when it came down. He and his helper make a great team. His price was reasonable.
