After a day of exploring Boone everybody was too tired to go out for dinner after returning to the hotel. We decided to order some delivery. After a little bit of debate we settled on hungry Howie's but we didn't order pizza we ordered hoagies wings and a salad. Gentleman on the phone with very helpful and set our order qualified for a discount and apply deck to the order saving us a few dollars delivery was fast and better than what we were told for time. Everybody enjoyed their meal portion sizes were reasonable and the pricing overall was decent. I didn't hear one complaint out of our gang. Would we do it again absolutely. read more

The Detroit pizza had scant toppings. Your purchase here is for bread, not pizza. The ordering process was "painful" because the order taker's attitude was that he did not want to be there. The order was incomplete, and was delivered about an hour late. When I called to complain, they blamed it on Door Dash AND said they had no way to contact Door Dash. Yep, that's what they said. Business can make mistakes, and I understand that mistakes are made, but refusal to accept responsibility for the delivery of what your customer ordered is dishonest. We ordered twice from here while staying at a cabin in Blowing Rock, NC. The first night, we ordered a meat deep dish with Asiago crust. It was delicious! The crust was crispy on top and bottom. We ate it so fast, I forgot to take a picture! The second night we ordered a traditional round cheddar burger pizza and Asian wings. Everything was good but I have to say that the deep dish pizza is much better. The website is very easy to use and they have a tracker so you can see when your pizza is made and being delivered. The delivery time was faster than estimated, about 30 minutes. We tipped a little extra because the poor guy had to climb a mountain of stairs to get to our cabin! LOL read more

What a horrible experience I had! I am so disappointed, because Hungry Howie's has such good pizza, but my pizza after I finally got it was not good. I ordered my food at 5:30 pm for delivery and after 7, I decided to call and see what was going on because I understand being busy but 2 hours is crazy. So I called and the guy I spoke to said I could switch it to pick up, I would just have to pay again when I got there because he had to cancel the order and put it back in as a pick up. So I drove there and waited in the drive through for 20 minutes before someone even acknowledged I was there. When someone did finally say something to me he's trying to give me someone else's order. I said "do you even know who I am?" He said no, "I said I bet not because no one has spoke to me since I got here!" Then he just walked away and someone else came up and asked what I was waiting for. They looked around for 10 minutes and kept coming to the window and telling me they don't have an order for me. I said I just spoke to someone on the phone, and as I would talk they would walk away again. So finally someone came and is listening to me and he said he would make my order again and asked "what did you even order" as I am pulling up my order HE WALKED AWAY AGAIN. Like be so for real. Then another guy came up and asked "what did you order" i asked him if they remade this food, if i was going to have to pay for it, because after all that, absolutely I will not give a penny. The guy is freaking out, so he asks whom I assume was the manager to come up. The man is barely listening to me, and seems like he's really just irritated he has to deal with anyone. He takes my phone so he can put my order in and while he's doing that another woman is in there upset because she had also been waiting a long time for her food. Instead of listening to the woman he puts his finger up to silence her and aggressively says "we're doing the best we can." He comes back to me and tells me to pull around to the front and someone will bring my food out to me. No one came. Plot twist of the century. Eventually I get a text from my doordash driver that hunger Howie's running late and it dawns on me, they never even canceled the original order. They are just wasting everyone's time. Finally my DoorDash drivers husband brings the food out and tells me it's been sitting there. No one was ever going to bring this food out to me. I will never order food from here ever again. I finally got back to my apt around 9:30 and my food was not good in any capacity. I wonder if they ever even remade the food in the first place because it was cold and tasted bad. read more

Great pizza and they're open later than other places on Sunday night. They delivered right to our hotel room very quickly!

Today I made my way back to Hungry Howie's, and they delivered my carry out order 100% accurately this time around. The order consisted of a medium pepperoni with savory ranch crust, another medium pineapple with spicy cajun seasoning, and an order of 3 cheese Howie bread. Ashley T. (friendly cashiers name on the receipt) made sure we left with the extra sauces and sides we ordered along with plenty of napkins/red pepper/ parmesan packets. Everything was still hot and tasty upon our arrival back home. It's super easy to place an order for pick up or delivery through their website (usually with a promo code deal) or over the phone. The sandwiches are amazingly good and so are the salads. I have not had the pizza but hope to try one soon! This was a great visit except for the fact that the help didn't seem very happy to be there. No smiles, no pleasant conversation...kinda felt like we were a bother. I will visit again however. Boone Howie's has really stepped up their game with a brand new location and building that is now within walking distance to App State's campus (smart move Howie's, smart move)... This was my first time trying Hungry Howie's, and I was pleasantly surprised! Usually go elsewhere for my takeout pizza needs, but it was late and we had coupons so we decided to give it a try. We got a medium 2-topping + deep dish Howie bread for just under $12- a steal! We ordered at home and it was ready within 15 minutes for pick up. Went in and it was only college students there, but understandable since it's right next to the college. The cashier was pleasant enough. The pizza itself was pretty darn good. We got meatballs on the pizza and they were sizable chunks of meat that was pretty surprising for a takeout pizza chain; I would definitely recommend checking them out. My boyfriend and I agreed that our favorite part was the garlic and herb crust though; perfectly salty and baked just right. The Howie bread wasn't the best cheesy bread that I've had, but it was decent and when dipped in ranch, pretty good. Would probably not go for them again though. read more

Hungry howies is a well rounded pizza franchise. They have a deal at this location for one large stuff crust pizza with two toppings for only 12 dollars! They offer a variety of salads, subs(the bacon cheese ranch one I heard is delicious), and desserts! They have an amazing cinnamon bread that they hand make with the pizza dough! The wings were not very crispy or sauced and they do charge for extra sauce. But besides that a great experience! Slower delivery times towards later in the night so keep that in mind! read more

have been a repeat customer of this Hungry Howies location for years, but in light of Covid-19 developments they have really let their product slide. I ordered food using my current address, and they sent my food to the wrong place, and then tried to charge me for it. When I requested that the order be corrected, the person that answered the phone failed to admit fault despite my having a receipt with the correct address. Only after much probing and showing the online receipt, was I able to get them to send another order. The last few orders have not been cooked to order, and they have either been overcooked or undercooked to the specifications I requested. We always order pizza from them every sunday, but the past few weeks our pizza has taken 2 hours to arrive. We have called multiple times, and the customer service was terrible, as they were very rude and unhelpful. The only thing they offered after two hours of waiting was that they would cancel our order. Their pizza isn't even that good. Hungry Howie's is not the place to go!!
