Ordered a huge order for delivery. Everything was fresh, clean, perfectly cooked, attractive... but had no flavor at all. I'm sure they get criticized from both sides: "It's too salty. There's no salt. It's too spicy. There's no spice." But I personally did not get what I ordered: extra spicy garlic chicken to help me recover from the flu. I neither smelled nor tasted any garlic at all. Egg Drop Soup is also good when you are ill. It was cooked with care but had little flavor, so I added powdered ginger. The steamed vegetables were gorgeous but the sauce was separate and weak. I think the best dish was Chicken Teriyaki Skewers. They had no teriyaki flavor but I dipped them in another bland sauce. In short, all the dishes were fresh and hot, ready for you to season yourself. My order: - Egg Drop Soup quart - Chicken with Garlic Sauce - Steamed Vegetables and Tofu - Steamed Greens - 4 containers of white rice - French Fries (I was craving starches.) - Chicken Teriyaki Sticks read more

First time ordering from this restaurant, I was pleased by the flavor and the generous portions. I ordered the egg soup, the General Tso Chicken with fried rice from the dinner special that included an egg roll and also the Pork Lo Mein. All the food arrived nicely packed and I also received two fortune cookies. The General Tso Chicken had a very generous amount of chicken, the chicken pieces were savory. No sesame seeds or green onion. My dish was served with fried rice and two pieces of broccoli. The rice wasn't my favorite because it was bland but I really like the flavor and texture sauce of the chicken. The egg rolls were delicious!! read more

We stopped with a group of friends to have a small dinner. I decided to get the Wonton Egg Drop Mixed Soup. The taste was really good and filling. The service was quick, and the staff was friendly taking our order. The place is small and quiet. However, we had to escape the place because we were threatened by a racist guy who could not stop insulting us. Overall, everything is good with the restaurant, but I'm afraid about the neighborhood, though. read more

I definitely recommend if you want some pretty good takeout in the Hollywood area of Florida Hunan Wok is good. They never disappoint me specially when I'm in a rush I can always count on them for a good dinner. They are fast and very reliable. Good quality Chinese food and full of flavor. I had the Mongolian chicken. I really enjoyed it with onions and mushrooms and a nice sweet sauce. I got the quart this time didn't go with the combination dinner and I also got their good chicken lo mein. Very nice and fluffy noodles sautéed with chicken and vegetables onions etc. they have really good dumplings there. Good orange chicken. Also other foods.. They always give good service with a smile, very friendly people family owned and operated. Atmosphere is nice. It's a little mini restaurant. Clean and they have lots of different sauces to choose from. I definitely will eat there again or I will get takeout. read more

Our go to Chinese food spot. Order from here multiple times a year. Very consistent. What you would expect from Chinese food.

Stopped here on the way back from the dentist to pick up some lunch -- and wound up eating some of my meal in the restaurant. Although they do a lot of takeout (and delivery), they do have four booths and one large long table that seats 6+ people inside. The restaurant is located in the middle of a strip of stores facing Sheridan street. There a small area of parking spots right out front-- if you get lucky. They have very reasonably priced lunch combos -- for only $7.95 (dinner is $9.95). All come with a choice of rice -- white, brown, or fried. And a vegetable spring roll. I got their #14 -- cashew chicken with white rice. The spring roll had a nice crusty fried wrapper, but the veggies inside were mushy. I'd also bought an eggroll -- with pork and veggies -- that I ate later. The regular eggroll was much much better than the spring roll. The cashew chicken was good. There were a lot of cashew nuts on top of pieces of chicken and an (unusual) mix of vegetables -- mushrooms, zucchini, and a few green scallions -- in a brown sauce. It's a fairly plain dish to begin with, but the different veggies helped. Plus I added some duck sauce. The portion I received was large enough to have my leftovers for dinner. I'd stop by again if in the area and if looking for an inexpensive meal. I might order something else to try -- and also skip the spring roll. read more

Poor flavor of food! Food tasted OLD! Rice tasted like greasy bullets! In one pint of rice only 2 tiny shrimps! (COUNT 'EM, TWO) And Just a few 'microscopic' pieces of pork. I honestly can cook better than them!! They had a Poor attitude towards my honest complaint too!! (It would be less than one star if i could!!!!) read more

My local go to fast Chinese. I've recently been going out west for incredible dim sum and Chinese however sometimes just too far. I ordered the shrimp egg foo Yong and pork fried rice along with spring rolls. The food was fresh, extremely tasty and piping hot. The spring rolls were crispy, great flavor and nice texture. The only reason I don't give a 5 star is they really need to clean up the place. Also, they have cut down the container size thus the portion is smaller. While I understand this I wish they would give the option to pay an extra fee and get the full portion. read more

We got delivery tonight for dinner and we were pretty satisfied with Hunan Wok! It is not as good as what we are used to (New Jersey / New York area) but for our region I would say they did a great job! We got the cream cheese wontons for an appetizer and they were delicious and perfectly cooked. They may have had a bit too much cream cheese but I would say it's better than not having enough. I got the sweet and sour chicken and I really appreciated the way they sent my dish. Sauce on the side! The portions are so large we could have easily split but with the sauce on the side we can have for leftovers tomorrow. My husband really enjoyed his general chicken. The delivery driver was prompt and friendly and from ordering online to delivery it was under an hour. I'd definitely recommend!! read more

This restaurant saves me so many times. Take-out or eating in, the food quality is consistently delicious. I've tried many dishes and have never been disappointed. My favorites are shrimp with garlic sauce, egg foo yeung, pad Thai, egg drop soup, brown rice, eggplant in garlic sauce. Everything is always ready in 15 minutes! Fortune cookies always included. I find the staff very friendly. But business is always booming at this Hunan Wok so there's not much time for chit chat. Service is prompt and courteous. I've introduced many others to this restaurant and they all happily order from here now too. Pro tip: grab an adult beverage from the liquor store next door (crown wine & spirits) and away you go! read more

Food was good but typical. Food arrived quickly and hot. I would definitely recommend. Try for yourself .

This is the 4 time we have DoorDashed hunan.. they are the closest we can find to what we are use to back in Massachusetts. It is 10 miles from our house and even when the dasher is stuck in traffic our food has always been hot. As usual the food was good. Today we did find the pork lo mien. To be a bit dry maybe a tad overcooked but still ok. I totally forgot to add the hot mustard and duck sauce so that always puts a damper on any Chinese order. read more

Starting off with the first review in 2021 at Hunan Wok. This Chinese restaurant is located in the Park Sheridan plaza and because of the pandemic is only allowing takeout and delivery. They have the menu posted on the window so you have an idea what you want before going in, and masks are required. A variety of dishes under $20 (excluding the party tray dishes) such as: * Appetizers/soups/sides * Fried rice/pad thai/vegetarian * Chef's specialty/egg foo young * Chicken, beef, shrimp dishes * Lunch & dinner combo platters I placed my order of steamed dumplings and a shrimp roll. Wait time was 10 minutes. There was only one female behind the counter and she was holding down the fort in Jet Li speed...I mean girl was fast...she was taking orders off the phone, taking care of the customers who came in to place their orders, packed the orders, and handed them out. I was impressed. Once I got settled at home, I reached for the shrimp roll which was made and fried perfectly. Hot and crunchy on the outside, tender shrimp and veggies on the inside. Next was the dumplings and OMG they were so delicious with a tasty dipping sauce. Whenever I get the taste for dumplings, this is the place I'm getting them from and I can't wait to try their fried rice and lo mein dishes. read more

I'm glad I didn't check Yelp before coming here, as a 3.3* average would definitely have kept me away. The good reviews on Google Maps (4.1*), however, led me to give it a try, and I thought my order of steamed chicken/shrimp with mixed veg and brown sauce was as good as I've had it anywhere. It was a generous portion of quality ingredients, it tasted great, and service was prompt and friendly. Maybe I got lucky? We'll find out when I return (soon). read more

Great food great prices fried rice and lomein outstanding the only bad thing they don't have bone in spare Ribs only boneless

I placed an order for take out, and it was terrible. The fried rice nobody could eat it, as it tasted burned, like it was cooked with old oil, same for the pork egg foo young. The two General Tso chickens, it was all breading, with next to no chicken. Very disappointing, as it used to be one of my favorite places. read more

Ordered from this place once. I wanted orange chicken but white meant only, which they told me they could do but it would cost extra. I did not mind paying extra for all white meat as it is not an unusual upcharge. However, when I got home to eat my food, I cut into the chicken pieces and realized they basically had NO chicken. Every piece of the orange chicken was all batter with only a tiny little shred of chicken meat in the middle. The meat was honestly invisible. So they basically charged me extra to give me NO chicken. Very deceiving and not what I wanted to eat. read more

Whoa - this place is actually good. And they have brown rice. (Because white rice is really bad for you. Refined carbs and refined sugar = death and cancer. I know, kind of harsh for the intro of a Yelp review, but this is scientifically proven fact, people. We all should consume much less white bread and white rice.) Hunan Wok is probably underrated a bit because the lady they've got on the phone can be a little bossy-frustrated-and-curt-sounding, but once you meet her in person you realize she probably didn't mean it so don't take it personal. Food is a solid 4, maybe 4.5 for Amer-Chinese takeout. No surprises here, and they definitely do not mess around. These are well-seasoned woks handled with solid wok technique behind the counter. Bravo. AND they have brown rice for no extra charge (at least for now!) If you order well, you will get more (and better and hotter) food than any Panda Express - and I appreciate Panda Express. You may even become a Hunan Wok regular once you see and hear the masterful wok skills going on behind the scenes here. This crew would crush it as a ghost kitchen (a compliment, but thank God they're not) because there were no less than seven kitchen staff cooking and prepping during the busy Friday afternoon lunch hour when I stopped in to pick up a surprisingly generous General Tso's w/Extra Broccoli combo meal (with extra light sauce, extra spicy, and brown rice) for only $8.13 - you read that right - who says inflation's a thing right now? The travel world needs more of these mom&pop shops. Just be ready when the queen/hostess on the phone grills you on "which Hunan Wok" you've called if you are looking to pick up food from this particular location - you WILL need to know whether this is the Hunan Wok "near AT&T store" (YES) or the Hunan Wok "near Walmart" (NO). This one is near the AT&T store: answer correctly or your food will certainly not be made. No way, José! read more

The place is infested with cockroaches, I tried to wash my hands and little cockroaches came out of the sink.

Great Chinese take out. Food is always good. Best egg foo young!! Bonzai. 85 characters is a lot of words.

Great food with fantastic customer service. I've been eating lunch here almost weekly for the past three years. I have no complaints.

I stoped by during lunch because my partner suggested this place and said it was the best Chinese food so I was excited to try it. I ordered the honey chicken which came with a side of honey sauce that I poured on the chicken. The sauce itself was flavorful but the chicken was soggy and not crispy. Also the rice was very bland not good! And the egg roll they gave me was small and looked like a spring roll, it was hard you could tell it was sitting out for awhile. I will not be coming back to this place but I'm willing to try the location in Dania which is the one my partner tried and said it was good. But I'm very disappointed with this food. read more

Hello, I've eaten from this location a number of times and have never really had a bad experience --that is until now. I called to place an order for delivery and was told it would be about an hour. I was completely fine with this as long as my food arrived hot. As promised, my food did show up in an hour. I ordered the hot and sour soup--it arrived like warm. Poured it in a bowl and added the crunchy noodles provided I took my first taste and spit it out. The soup was bland but the crunchy noodles were completely flat and stale. The egg rolls I ordered were soggy and greasy. And the main course (general tso's chic ken) was chewy and filled in by an exorbitant amount of just fried breading. We just threw the food out. I was a restaurant manager for ten years-- I know how the industry works. I will find a new place to order from next time. Very disappointing. read more
