    The Lunch Menu
    Bill A.

Wow...another Great Eatery in the Hollywood, Florida community. Coming from Los Angeles where we have really great Chinese & Asian cuisine, I found a little hidden Gem in Hollywood for Lunch. The Food is Great and high Quality, the Prices are Low, and the Ambiance is very Comfortable. When we walked into China Hollywood I immediately noticed that Authentic Aroma of Food cooked with Love. There were plenty of tables for 1-4 people, and also several tables for 4-10 guests. We were greeted with a smile and a "Thank You for Coming" nice... The Lunch menu had about 20 or so items that was $9.99 Oh Yeah. I chose the "Bonless Ribs" and my Mama Bear (91yrs. Young) chose the "Flat Noodles- Chow Fun with Chicken". These two dishes were prepared and served to perfection: Tasty, Hot, and Plentiful. I love this place and highly recommend China Hollywood. Don't think, just go there for Lunch! I'll see you there perhaps...Cheers!

9/28/2023 came in before my shift at Joe D. Not many people eating in but constant take out. Food 4/5. I don't like the fact they don't put ham in their special fried rice. It was flavorful but missing the ham. Also if you're like me and like the flat fried noddles with your soup or to dip and you order take out .. make sure you ask for the flat noodles otherwise you get the other type. I ordered a soup to take with me and that is what came with it. I'm glad I asked. Waitress recommended I try the Mongolian beef. It was very good. Egg drop soup was very good. 5/5 service. This lady was awesome. She was smiling and talking with me. It's dangerous that I work so close. Lol I will be back for sure. I ordered a large egg drop soup and fried donuts to go. Hey don't judge me lol I need something to snack on tonight. If you like spicy just ask for some hot oil on the side.

This place was in a plaza that had a lot of parking. We decided to get Chinese food for our one day stay in the area. There were a few people eating here around 6:15pm on Black Friday. The menu was short and had some good-sounding food. I ordered the Beef with Broccoli Combo Platter ($10.95) which also came with soup (I chose hot and sour soup), an egg roll, rice (I chose steamed rice), and a dessert (I chose vanilla ice cream). It took a few minutes for the soup to come out. The Hot and Sour soup tasted good to me and the egg roll was okay. The Beef with Broccoli was not bad and there was more of that than the cup of steamed rice that was included. I tried my brother's Chow Fun and that was good. My dad's Szechuan Chicken was good but not spicy to me. The Roast Pork Egg Foo Young was okay and I probably never had anything like that before. The ice cream was not bad and a good dessert. Overall, I thought the food here was okay and got the job done especially for the area.

Located in the Presidential Plaza on Hollywood Blvd., China Hollywood is a gourmet Chinese Restaurant that offers dine in, take out, and delivery. The restaurant is large with plenty of booth and table seating for the customers and has a serene oriental décor adorned in lovely colors. Upon entering, I was nicely greeted by a female employee who took my order of the orange flavored chicken (you have the option to get it spicy) lunch special, which was served with pork fried rice and an egg roll. While waiting, I overlooked the take out menu. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes all under $20; such as appetizers, soups, chow mein or chop suey, fried rice, lo mein, chef's specialty, steamed delight, beef/chicken/pork/seafood dishes, vegetarian, egg foo young, sides, and lunch and dinner combo platters. In about five minutes, I was handed my food...now that's what I call fast service. The food was steaming hot and placed in a small container which had an adequate amount of food and looked appetizing. As I got in my vehicle, I quickly ate the egg roll which was hot and crunchy on the outside with tender veggies on the inside. The fried rice was cooked nicely with just the right amount of salt. The orange chicken was lightly crispy and tossed in a tangy orange sauce. I used the leftover sauce to complement the fried rice. It's absurd the number of times I've driven along Hollywood Blvd. and passed by this restaurant, but rest assure it won't happen again. I'll be back to try their lo mein.

    Waiting to be seated

First things first, the service was not the best at all. If you're not white, except to stand for over 8 minutes waiting to be seated while not busy. My mom and I always order food over the phone from this restaurant, and everything tastes great. But this time, we decided to dine in! As soon as we got to the door, we were not greeted by anyone. There were two older couples that were obviously family members to whoever owns the restaurant, they saw us, and neither of them decided to call someone to get us seated or at least ask us if we're picking up an order! Eventually after 8 minutes of standing someone came to seat us. Once we were seated, I realized two white guys came in and within seconds, someone greeted them with smiles, I just find that so ironic how you can get treated differently based off of your race, yet we're all spending money to keep your business going. So ignorant and sad. Furthermore, the waitress came, she was pleasant, she took our order in parts though since she was the only one taking everyone's order, but the food tasted much different in person, versus over the phone. It was barely Luke warm, and our pork fried rice was barley warm, nor did it taste fresh. Yet it took over 30 minutes for everything we ordered to come out. Also, except to pay $15 more in person than over the phone for the same amount of food you normally purchase. I honestly felt uncomfortable to eat anything, and the silverware and plates didn't look washed properly. Overall, I'd give my experience here a 4/10

Wow I have ordered from this restaurant almost a year ago I stop ordering today I was hungry so I had a taste for Chinese food so I ordered The food taste real Oily and no utensils to eat with it wow that's it I will not be returning

The Asian hand painted folding paper fans along the walls and the red Chinese New Year lanterns hanging from the ceiling added a nice touch to the subtle decor. We were sat immediately at a booth of our choice. The dining room was empty of customers with an eerie silence. The server greeted us with the standard duck sauce and golden crispy crackers and the traditional metal tea kettle and cups. I slurped down my wanton soup that had plump wanton and not salty thin broth. The General Tso Chicken with fried rice was a huge portion and tasty. The fried eggroll had a crisp outer shell and was dense with veggies, although it seemed more like an oversized spring roll than a traditional Chinese egg roll, but the superb taste overshadowed the petite size. As were eating, I still could not stop noticing that we were the only customers at lunchtime 12pm during the work week. I will take great food and attentive service any day over a loud packed dining room but could this be the end of a strong fifty-six year run to end the China Lane legacy? I sure hope not. As the bill arrived, I noticed a portion at the bottom with suggested tip percentages to merely place a checkmark in a box - not bad, just unique. The gender assigned bathroom was clean with a dominant red door and gray marble-like tile. The toilet rules written on the front of the tank made me chuckle and added some unexpected humor to a traditional Chinese restaurant (see pic and read).

Located off Stirling Road (accessible from both directions), Hong's BBQ sits amongst the various shops that make up the Stirling Place Plaza. If you're here based off your search for food around the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel Hollywood, you've got the same idea as us and this review is for you; Hong's is essentially "around the corner" from the casino and a great option if you want to venture off the resort for some great food. Recommended by a source for reliable eats, we decided to give Hong's BBQ a go before our trip back to Tampa. We found that Hong's BBQ has some great authentic Canto-style Chinese cuisine. Not big by any means (you can't necessarily host a large banquet style gathering here), there is definitely ample seating - mainly suited for parties of 4. We came around 1pm on a Sunday and had no issues being seated - although the restaurant maintained a steady flow of customers in and out of the restaurant. There are a few larger round tables scatter throughout with the typical lazy-susan setup in the center that may accommodate larger parties of 6-8. If you're not interested in dining-in, there is definitely a "butcher's" station/display that is set up toward the back of the dining section. The setup within the restaurant definitely brought back nostalgic memories of Chinatown restaurants and their racks of char-siu, roast duck, pig, and soy chicken hanging under the heating lamps. From here, you can order cuts of the aforementioned meats by weight without the "extras." The menu offered a great variety of Canto-style cuisine; I would argue that it's hard to go wrong with a choice based on their selections they have available. We ordered two noodle soups (roast duck and char siu), along with an order of the beef chow fun, which were all outstanding. Beginning with the noodle soups, you have 3 different noodle options; I opted for the flat rice noodles which I instantly craved upon identifying it as a choice. The noodles were cooked to al-dente perfection that had a good amount of "bounce" while easy to chew. The broth was also on a whole other level that warrants praise in itself. The beef chow fun is also a must - yes, I recognize that this may be considered a "basic" choice, but Hong's BBQ makes this the right way. The service wasn't poor - let's just say that it falls in line with the coveted 3-star Asian restaurant rating (If you know, you know). The servers knew how and when to deliver. All in all, Hong's BBQ is a great place to dine with your family. I would recommend this to anyone in or travelling to this area.

Nevertheless, we ordered pan-fried dumplings, the three meat combo plate with roast duck, BBQ roast pork, and crispy pork. We also got a seafood platter with salt and pepper shrimp, squid, and scallops. The latter didn't have much taste. We couldn't even taste any salt and pepper. The dish came on a bed of shredded raw cabbage. There was no rice. When I asked, the server (a different one from the woman who took our order) brought us a small bowl. They had forgotten to put the rice on the plate. (The dish is advertised as being served on a bed of rice.) The meat platter was decent. Although the duck skin needed to be crispier, the pork skin was very crispy. The BBQ roast pork was tasty, boasting a nice char siu flavor. The few strands of Chinese broccoli that was served with the dish was cold, as if it was added from the refrigerator. We enjoyed the pan-fried dumplings. They seemed to be homemade. One appetizer, two entrees, tax, and tip was $66.
