Been in search of a Chinese "go to" since moving to the area. This was our first experience. Arrived about 1:00. Only one other customer in restaurant. The restaurant was clean although I did not care for its odor. A nice older woman greeted us took our order. I ordered the appetiser platter and daughter had the chicken Kung pow lunch plate special and an order of chicken low mein. On the appetiser platter we enjoyed the spring roll and cream cheese won tons. Chicken skewers were stringy and tough. Chicken wings were heavily battered. Egg drop soup was delicious. My parents used to take me here as a kid, and it's just like I remember. The Chinese chicken salad is simple but delicious and something I would go back to eat all by itself. I ordered sesame chicken and my husband got teriyaki chicken. My kids loved the orange chicken. My parents enjoyed the lemon chicken and honey walnut shrimp. Oh, and yummy egg drop soup too! It was an overall enjoyable experience and finding somewhere both my kids will eat is a win. read more

I ordered through door dash-- I ordered the coconut shrimp and the combo appetizers. They only had three shrimp but they comped that yet still gave me the three, with lots of wonderful tasty noodles. I wasn't sure I had a full meal when i ordered but when it came it was more than I could eat, and it was delicious! Totally satisfied my Chinese foid craving. DON'T LOOK AT BAD REVIEWS. We get to this place while hitchhiking. We are not homeless, we come from Europe and we just love this way to travel. Food is crazy cheap and for this price quality is unbitable. We arrive at 2pm so just the right moment for lunch Special. I ordered Mongolian Beef and I highly recommend it. It was delicious. The food is fresh and delicious. So much better than anything you could get from Panda Express. I have been there a bunch now and there still isn't anything on the menu I haven't liked. I grew up in the Bay Area so I know good asian food and this place is awesome. Definitely some of the best I've had in Utah. read more

Their family goes in and out of the kitchen which is a health hazard and it seems that a couple waiters/waitresses came from outside and went right into the kitchen and right out with food without washing hands!! Some of the worst Chinese I've ever had. Panda Express tastes better, is cheaper and faster. Big disappointment.

When my wife and I first walked in, my wife joked that the dining area needed a kitchen nightmares makeover. The dining area wasn't the only thing that needed kitchen nightmares. Chicken wings came with our appetizer, and right then I knew it was going to be interesting. They were the sorriest chicken wings I've ever seen. They were hard and very very oily. I suspect they were several days old and had been re-deep fried for us. The rest of the food was the same. It felt like leftover night at home. Sweet and sour pork is hard to mess up, but this was hard and tasted old as well. The cashew chicken tasted as though it was once quite good, but had turned to mush during its sojourn in the freezer. This place is terrible. There's another Chinese place less than 1/4 mile away, and it's much better than Hunan City. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Here I sit in the parking lot of Hunan city, reflecting over my past during my final moments of life. I have have lived a good life with few regrets. This final meal and my ultimate undoing is one thing I'd take back. My friends and I started off with the "gold platter" gold I guess is a rough translation for deep fried and re fried again two days later. It was expensive and you can get MUCH better deep fried junk from any grocery store deli. Some parts of the platter were a unidentifiable, fried pile of mush served in a piece of tinfoil. Then there's the rest of the meal. Many pieces were again, deep fried and tasted old. Between me and a few friends there was nothing we like. AVOID ANY FISH DISH AT ALL COST. The salmon is served with Kraft BBQ sauce that has left over fluids from cooking the fish mixed into it. I'm not even joking. The food was total bogus. Even the woman there knew it and she seemed embarrassed when she brought us out order. I don't enjoy being so negative but in this case it's only fair. This place is gross and you're much better off going some where else. read more

We were excited to try Hunan City, we went in and the one staff member working the floor was kind and attentive. The food however was bland at best. We ordered kung pow chicken, orange chicken, and the egg drop soup. All lacked flavor, the kung pow chicken was not spicy the orange chicken had no sweet flavor with some spice and the eff drop soup tasted like water but with the consistency of egg whites. 2 stars for the service, but the food was sub par. read more

Was a bit disappointed in their food. The place was clean and the staff was fine, but the spicy chicken was not very good. They use some sort of processed chicken that is of poor quality. With all of the choices we have within 30 miles of Payson, I'd rather drive a few miles for better quality food. read more

I am from out of State and "real" chineese is hard to find. But this restraunt had wonderful service, fresh food and it taste good.I eat here often. I suggest the Happy Family dish. read more
