Honestly, I was quite disappointed by my experience since it's been on my "to-visit" list for a while. I ordered their El Diablo which was comparable to an Iced Spanish Latte and there was nothing spectacular about it. It was too bitter in my opinion so I had to use a packet of Splenda which seemed to do the trick for me. My sister ordered a chocolate banana muffin which was $7... WAY overpriced. Also, wish they still offered their hot drinks in mugs if you're ordering in-person. (Would be more environmentally friendly, which would seem like a great emphasis considering their close proximity to the beach). This place is located in Seal Beach Old Town so there was only really street parking and almost everything was taken on a Saturday at around 8 in the morning. I was a little deceived by the Yelp photos and thought that there was seating upstairs but seating's actually a bit limited. Noise level is louder than other cafes so maybe not the best place for studying unless you have the noise cancelling headphones. read more

Good coffee and cute location! We ordered the regular brew coffee but the staff must have been training another employee because the order was very slow to make. They had to teach the trainee step by step directions on various coffee making endeavors which was a bit frustrating since we were somewhat in a rush. Atmosphere: 5 This place was so awesome! First off, very large location! I'm sure that bodes well for busy weekends. Gave that industrial vibe, and I loved every nook and cranny of it. Menu Variation: 5 They had such fun, unique, and creative drinks! You can stick to your tried and true things of course, but they do wellness boosts in your beverage too included in the price of some of their more creative options. I have to go back to give a couple other things a try! It was hard to pick which creative drink to get! Customer Service: 5 The employee was incredibly helpful and honest. I asked to do an add shot and he warned me it was a double. I asked if I could just get it as a triple, and he just said he wanted to give me the heads up since the add charge is for a double, but he could just use half of it. I thanked him for the warning, but of course got my add shot! We went and it wasn't busy and it appeared there was only the one employee working, but he was quick to get our drinks done after we ordered them. Drink Quality: 5 My drink was DELICIOUS!!! I got the Smoking Gun and my friend got the Golden Hour. Both drinks were delicious. I just did the add shot, but didn't do any other modifications otherwise. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the Golden Hour too, but I was very happy with mine. Not too sweet, and just a beautiful balance of all the flavors. Price Worth It: 4 I mean...it's in a tourist destination Main Street Beach City. You have to take the location into consideration when looking at the price of this drink. The starting price of mine was $7, then with my add shot (technically priced for a double though) my drink came to $8.70. If it weren't for the location aspect of this, I would say heck no to a return visit. But again, with that aspect of it in mind, I'd say for being a delicious, well made coffee on a beach main street stretch, I say it was worth it! Special occasion coffee for sure though! The baristas have always been nice here and the location is easily the best spot in seal beach. I know you're helping with a customer who is of an older adult but a customer behind me being impatient, rub me off the wrong way. They really shouldn't have humble in their name because there is nothing to be humble about at this place! It's about as good as you can get for a gourmet coffee shop. 1. Tons of seating. The shop is connected to a common business seating area so there are lots of spots to sit and sip. 2. The coffee selection. Very unique and gourmet options with lots of non-dairy milks to choose from. I am particularly enjoying the Lavish Honey, which has an oat milk base. See picture of drinks, on left. 3. The baristas are so nice. I have no clue how they avoid the typical "snooty barista" attitude, but they are some of the most genuine and kind people to talk to and be served by. New favorite place! If you love bright, open, airy spaces to enjoy good coffee, this is your place. Ample parking in the back parking lot and beautiful clean restrooms. The only place for improvement I can see is it lacks seating a little (or you could look at it as, it's not cramped in there!). My cousin and I shared a table because the bar seats were taken and it was just too small for two people on laptops with drinks. I would've given this coffee shop a B+ but I'm going to have to give it a 3-star. The title of this place along with the look of this coffee shop has a nice feel to it. It rings bells but for some reason, I just wasn't all there. Was it the long line due to being understaffed? There was literally one barista ringing the drinks and making the drinks. You can tell he was frustrated and didn't want to be there. Or was it the fact that they ran out of the drink I really wanted which was this bourbon-whiskey type coffee drink. Instead he made me this spicy mocha that had habanero hints. I already had drinks like this one and there was no surprise. After waiting pretty long for our drinks, we just sipped a bit and left. I need to come back soon! This place is amazing. Drinks are fresh and tasteful. My husband got a vanilla latte and is usually pretty picky about his coffee. He loved it. Perfectly sweetened and brewed with care. I got the purple haze and I could taste all the flavors. Pastries looked amazing but we didn't get any this time around because we ate before. They are delivered every morning from a place in LA and an LA food truck (names I had forgotten). Service is very friendly. Price isn't bad. The two drinks together were just under $12. I have always enjoyed coming to this location for coffee, but after today, I am not sure I will return. We purchased a surprise bag through TooGoodToGo for $18 worth of food. Upon arrival the staff member took the confirmation which charged my account. Then told us they had nothing to give us. The manager and staff member were less than helpful. Upon further complaint, we were given one coffee and told that it's out of their hands. There was one donut available, when we asked if we could have that, he said "I would have to charge you". I would have had no complaints if they had a) known how the process works and I hadn't confirmed or b) had provided us with a comparable amount of beverages. This is not how to utilize the app or run a local business that is dependent on repeat customers and word of mouth. read more

I saw this place pop up on yelp and it looked really cute. Aesthetically it is a 10. The employees are very friendly too. But I paid $9 for a burrito that was premade. That is expensive !!! It was good but not $9 good. Because it had to be reheated it wasn't warm all the way through. The cheese was hard and cold. I'm glad I visited but I would stay away from the over priced burrito. The service was fine! It was my first time going to this coffee place. I got a latte and a chai. The chai actually was not very good. It kind of tasted like the powdered chai you get from Costco, but the coffee was good! There's not a lot of variety on the menu, but it was interesting to say the least. They have "wellness" they put in the coffee which I wasn't aware of before going here. I had just seen the place while heading to the beach. They had shots like "immunity" "multivitamin" "clarity and focus" and "holistic health." While I didn't add "wellness" to my Coffee, it was a very curious concept. I love this new spot! Great lighting for a cozy spot to get work done. My friend and I drove out here again to just play on their chess table. Shops in the greater oc area just don't have games like I am used to being from portland. AND ALSO such Great coffee! Their lavender/ earl grey cold brew called "purple haze" is such a treat! Love the vibes, love the upstairs space, and love the free parking around the back. I would totally come here if I needed a place to study or get some work done. Tried the Purple Haze & the specialty coffee (raspberry beret). At first was a bit confused because the flavor of the lattes were weak and sort of just creamy. I thought maybe my order was messed up because I couldn't taste the syrup. The coffee flavor was a tad watered down, but if the flavored lattes and espresso were a notch stronger it would be worth the 5 stars! They don't have whipped cream and their seating is weird inside (too far apart). Also they don't have much outdoor seating. Vegan pastries that look like cardboard aren't appetizing.
