Huddle House sounded good this morning so I stopped on in. Krissi greeted me and sat me down, quickly took my drink order and returned shortly for my order. This location is clean. Rather small but it had quite a few tables filled. Seems to be a spot for "regulars". Which says a lot. I ordered my favorite- Philly Cheesesteak Omelette, with hash browns and a biscuit. Love their biscuits! The omelette was so light and fluffy and jam packed with the tender beef and peppers. The whole vibe in this location is great. Friendly - calm- definitely different than the one in Suffolk- and I very much enjoyed it! Prices are higher than I remember- but right now that seems normal. Almost 20$ for just my meal and a Mt. We stumbled into Huddle House while running errands. We both ordered in hash brown casseroles - my hubby ordered the sausage bacon, and I ordered the southern fried chicken. The southern fried chicken casserole included the Huddle House's seasoned signature cheesy Hashbrown Casserole, topped with crispy fried chicken, farm-fresh scrambled eggs (no Applewood smoked bacon), and country gravy. I also added green peppers because they needed a bit more flavor - I was right. It was so good. To my surprise, my hubby ordered a waffle - he's not a waffle guy; he is a pancake and French toast guy. We went to Huddle House for lunch. When you're balling on a budget this is the place to go. When we walked in we were greeted right away. I asked if we could sit on the side of the restaurant, but unfortunately they only had one section open, so I was slightly disappointed. But the waitress was nice about it. She took our order right away. We got a kids chicken tenders and fries, a chili cheese burger, and a hamburger steak with Mac and cheese and loaded hash brown casserole. The fries and tender tasted fine, but they were super hot. Not like they came out the deep fryer, but like they were microwaved to. My granddaughter was being dramatic, I thought. But when I tasted it, it was super hot! The meal came with like 10 fries total. Lol. My daughter liked her cheeseburger and tots, she also had about 10 tots. So they must count this stuff or something.. My hamburger steak came with one patty and it tasted awkward. It was freezer burnt. The waitress asked if I wanted something to replace it, but I didn't feel like waiting so I just picked it with ketchup and ate it. She did give me $4 off my meal which I thought was nice. The hash brown casserole was ok it seemed a little dry, but was still decent. When we boxed our food up, it was a brown piece of hair under the chicken tenders, so we just threw it away because I had already complained about my meal so I didn't want to make a fuss. I don't know if they had hairnets, but obviously they need them. I guess it's hit or miss. I didn't complain to much because you get what you pay for I guess. Huddle house has become a favorite in my household. We visited the Virginia Beach location on Princess Anne. When we first arrived we stood there for several minutes before anyone acknowledged us. They said someone will be right with you but it was another 10 minutes before we were officially greeted and asked how many in our party. It was only two. Several tables available but only three waitresses working. And really kinda only two because the third waitress was in the back most of the time. Once we were finally seated took several more minutes to get our drinks we ordered. So we quickly took advantage of the waitress dropping them off and asked if we could order, we both got the MVP which gives you a lot of food. The food was delicious and served hot as usual. I just wish this establishment staffed better on busy days. We went on a Saturday morning. read more

Visited Huddle House Virginia Beach tonight and the server had an extremely nasty attitude. They are open until 8pm, we walked in at 6:50. She kept asking did we want our food to go. I said we would like to dine in. She says we'll be closing in about an hour and again asked did we want our food to go. I said no we'd like to dine in. She proceeded to tell us, they would be out of certain drinks and certain food. So we decided to leave. On a rainy Saturday morning, I decided to stop in the Huddle House for breakfast. If you've never been to one, it's a cousin of a Waffle House with a short order grill but minus the counter seating and attitude. If Waffle House is the Walmart of short order grills, because you never know what customers are staff are going to do, Huddle House is more like the Target. You know what to expect every time you come through the door. The pace is more relaxed. It feels warmer and more inviting due to the combination of low-hanging incandescent lights along with the regular ceiling lights keep it well lit bt warm. Yellow and brown colors plus walls with fun little slogans Iike "I never met a potato I didn't like." Friendly waitstaff and cooks - you can strike up a conversation with either. They serve full breakfast and lunch menu all day. Today, I chose blueberry bites, hash browns, and a hash brown casserole. Admittedly, I had other options than the extra hash brown like fruit, biscuit, grits, Etc but I was just in the mood for some crispy hash browns. Hash browns were crispy and buttery. Just like Waffle House. I could have got things added on to the top of it but just went straight with the basics. Hash brown casserole was good with bacon sausage and eggs just like you'd expect. I do prefer the gravy over Waffle House gravy because it's less greasy. You're definitely tasting the distinct flavor of the gravy and the sausage with each bite. Stop being said I do wish that they did a spicier or more flavorful sausage. Its like Hardees sausage from the 80s before they stepped up their game. Of course my wife prefers it because were opposite on the savory spectrum Blueberry bites are fun. They're just blueberry donut holes with a sprinkling of powdered sugar. They come with a cream cheese dipping sauce, which I tried and was too sugary for me, but I'm sure my wife would have loved them. Two words I have for this place: average but worth a second try for the French toast. When I walked into the restaurant, it seemed like a very simple and causal place that served breakfast food. The staff are nice, but they are kind of all over the place despite it not being busy or packed. A section of the store is still closed off. My server got me some refills of water, but she did not check on me. The wait was also really long, given they were not that busy. For the food item I got, I chose the Bacon, Sausage, and Sausage gravy stuffed hash browns. It is honestly very average because there was a lot of gravy on it. The gravy took away most of the taste from the other ingredients, and it was very bland. Pros - Very casual environment. - The staff is nice. - The food on their menu looks really interesting. Cons - Staff seems like they are all over the place. - The wait for my food took quite a while despite it being slow. - The bacon, sausage, and sausage gravy was very average and bland. Over the Summer my son was a super regular eating here close to once a week after swim for breakfast. I joined him, but did not always eat. When I did I was usually satisfied, nothing crazy, but good. The location is across the street from Landstown Commons off Princess Anne. Parking issues are much improved after CHKD completed their new building and large parking area that they allow to be shared. The lot usually has debris. A drain that runs directly in front of the business spews out disgusting green water. Is it sewage, I doubt it but yuck! Huddle Houses offers a model similar to IHOP with breakfast, lunch and dinner served at the table. More often than not we were greeted by a waitress working the floor, or kitchen. Seating is seat yourself unlike IHOP. Let's start with food, then I will move to service. My son typically gets the same thing as do I. So chocolate chip pancakes with side of scrambled eggs and bacon. He likes it and the meals have been delivered hot. The bacon seems to have been improved as evidenced today. The eggs seems to be more whites, it's inconsistent. My breakfast a waffle combo with eggs over easy and sausage. The waffle is the best thing, very similar to Waffle House. Eggs fine and sausage ok. Most meals I would get coffee which I consider above average. A pet peeve is their syrup bottle which is cheaply made, drips and annoying. The service has been average, to at times below with slow refills. This morning my cup was completely empty and refilled in a small gap in time. The timing of the food is above average coming out of the kitchen and the processing of bill good. Where service fell apart this morning in my opinion was an issue pointed out at the end when I realized it. A hair was found under the second piece of sausage. The waffle is always plated separately. The eggs and sausage plated together. Everything had been eaten except the sausage where a hair was discovered. The waitress alerted and in her words "you should have told me sooner". She went onto say I would have had your meal remade. I informed her it was only realized at the end. She came back with the check and no deduction of any kind on my meal. In my opinion the entire meal should have been comped, or at minimum reduced. Since this same waitress waited in us many times and remembered me I guess my expectation was to high. HH is a step above IHOP. Settled in the shopping center where it's ridiculous to find parking, it's the newest restaurant to hit the shopping center. Walking through the front door I notice it was a diner style restaurant. You see the cooks cooking away on the griddle. You can sit anywhere and the waiter/waitress will come to you. It was clean with comfortable seating. Our waitress came to us right away, greeted us, took our drink order and by the time she came back we were ready for her to take our order. I did have a little wait for our food to come out. Finally, the food is here....taste of the food is not bad but not the best breakfast food either. The MVP platter had plenty of food so was I able to share. The hashbrowns was the frozen shredded potatoes kind- yuck! I think it taste so generic. The eggs were nice and cheesy, that was descent. Now for the biscuits and gravy.....look out Hardees!! HH biscuit was fluffy/buttery it was good -yum yum yum! Apple pie taste homemade, doubt it was but nonetheless it was good! Typical of what one would expect of a Huddle House. I would say the place is about medium sized, so it fills up quick. I think it started filling up at around 9AM? Service was quick. So that was great. Server was sweet. I got 2 eggs with 2 turkey sausage patties, hash brows and bread. The hash brows tasted like cafeteria food. Bread was good because well, it's bread. My eggs were cooked just as I ordered and my sausage was dry and over cooked. BUT I mean, in all fairness, I knew this was how the food was going to be when I got here. No one goes to a Huddle House expecting to be amazed. My sister had some kind of country fried steak over hash browns with gravy on top. It was good because what ISN'T good when its fried and doused in gravy? Ha. We had good service. And if you are eating to sustain life (or cure a hangover) then its good! read more

Been wanting to try this place out and finally decided today was worth a shot. As soon as we walked in we noticed a fairly full house but one of the waitstaff pointed to a corner table for two and said we can help ourselves to that table. Pretty impressive. It all went downhill after that. Emily, our waitress was actually pleasant and friendly but the food and drinks were sub-par. My orange juice seemed flat and watered down. I didn't even drink a quarter of it. Boyfriend's coffee was "yuck" because even after he asked if they had regular creamer and they said yes, he was still given half and half. They offered milk instead, which was better than half and half but definitely not creamer. We tried and ordered their new stuffed hash brown platters and those were good. I had the country fried steak and he had the sausage and bacon one. Picture showed toasts but we asked for biscuits. One thing I noticed about Emily was that she brought another table 2 drinks, 1 looked like Coke and another looked like iced tea. Huddle House is what I would consider a baby version of iHop and Village Inn. There isn't much on the menu, but I can see they are still growing. Our waitress kept checking up on us which was pretty nice to have a great waitress. The only thing I wish she did was ask me how I wanted my eggs because I wanted sun-side eggs instead of scrambled. Looking at my friend's meal, it is nice concept for putting the veggies on the side of the plate, so the guest can put what they like on the burger. The amount of fries my friend got was kinda depressing since we were able to count each fry by how many fingers we had. The tables should have napkin dispensers instead of that one napkin that comes with the utensils. Also I think it would be a good idea if the utensils were brought to the table along with the guest so they don't have to ask for it after they receive their meal because I had to. I would probably not go back to this place unless someone wants to try it out and wants me to tag along. It was an okay experience because the waitress Morgan made it worth it. read more
