I maybe due to being from Mississippi on my review so please don't @ me lol: After my coworker had been raving about Oakdale's Huckleberry's, I reluctantly gave it a try. Absolutely love the NOLA ambiance. Would've great to have some more jazz to the music or something. But overall, really cute "bayou" eatery. It was so hard to choose from the menu, but I was craving some French toast. Everything was amazing including the over medium eggs and crispy bacon were cooked just right! The beignets are not deep southern/ Café du Monde, however, I approve of them as they came hot and ready with a handful of sauces. Highly recommended asking for more powdered sugar if you know what I mean. Them thangs needs to be sugared up! And they're huge! I could only eat one before I could eat my main item! They do to-go with the beignets as well! If you sign up on their website, you can get free beignets! Just show the email! Swamp Tea! It's very raspberry-tea like. My coworker said they make their drinks "super sweet". I've head sweeter- but not to knock on that Swamp Tea- it was delicious and served in a wide-mouth jar! HUGE! So delicious. There is I believe boba on the bottom which I hadn't noticed until I was pouring it in the to-go cup! I'll be back! I hadn't realized there were more than just one location and if I'd know there was a few in Fresno/Clovis, I would've been had it! I feel they def need to play the "Princess and the Frog" soundtrack. My wife and I were leaving from Escalon to get to Monterey for the week and we asked for a good place to have breakfast. We came here and oh my be ready to split one of the meals because you have to an ancaonda to eat a full meal though I know people do eat all the food. It has that Cajun, Lousiana vibe that you wonder if you use the restroom you could be taken by an alligator (only kidding they have very clean restrooms). Our server was on point and our coffee was filled and the food was prompt. We had a large scamble that was huge with potatoes, eggs sausage, cheese the works. The food was really good and the staff ius quite friendly. We noticed that there were allot of police who ate at this establishment and a few of them just bragged about the food. If you are on weight watchers this is not the place for you because you will get allot of food. They have great parking andf I liked the vibe of ther place. I absolutely love this place! From the minute you walk in until you leave there's nothing but great service. Very friendly staff. The food and drinks are amazing as well! I always go on a Saturday if I happen to be out that way for my daughter's soccer games. I just went in recently with the family. It was busy as usual but it's never too long of a wait. My fiancé got the Dixieland Steak Melt. She loved it. Bbq sauce was really good. My daughter got the Mardi Gras Beignets. I've had those before and I know it's amazing! I got the Tom's Scramble. I met my niece here recently for breakfast. The host was welcoming and we were seated quickly. Waters were delivered and our waitress, Nadine, came to take our orders. She was delightful and knowledgeable, answering our questions. My niece ordered the chicken fried steak with gravy, came with two nice servings of the steak, hash browns and sourdough toast, her choice. I ordered an omelet, without potatoes or toast, my choice, side of fruit. We were both happy with our choices. The only complaint could be that the music is rather loud, making conversation more challenging. I will return. read more

Decided to go for a Sunday drive and ended up in Oakdale. Was early for a change and decided to have lunch at Huckleberry's which closes at 3pm Feeling adventurous, both the Hubbs and I decided to try something different. The Hubbs chose Bayou grilled catfish with sautéed mushrooms over a bed of red rice and sausage similar to jambalaya. His dish also came with 2 slices of grilled pieces of bread that didn't seem to go with the dish. The fish was cooked perfectly but being catfish still had that muddy taste. Lots of sautéed mushrooms and the rice was tasty. With the help of the server I ordered the crab cake Benedict with the side of Cajun potatoes, which is essentially fried red potatoes with onions and bell peppers. The crab is real crab and a large patty. The hollandaise sauce wasn't the best, bright yellow and had more of a thick gluey texture to it. We were there right before closing so more than likely the sauce had been sitting. From the kids menu we ordered hand battered chicken strips with french fries for the babes who as usual, couldn't be bothered to eat. This is a family dining establishment, and the other tables near us all had kids and parents struggling with convincing their kids to eat, so we fit in! I started thinking it may be the food and it wasn't. The strips were definitely hand battered and fresh with a crunchy coating. Strips were very similar to Canes Chicken and the French fries were also good. I ended up eating part of the Babes food and took most of my food to work the next day for lunch. The Sweet tea with Huckleberry sauce was more a dessert, the Hubbs loved it! Next time I'll go for the chicken and waffles special with bacon and an unsweetened tea with a Huckleberry's Sauce. So frustrating. Sometimes I can bring my own gluten free bread and they will toast it. Other times they won't. Hey Huckleberry's! How about you offer gluten free bread as an option?! Other restaurants are able to offer it. Pretty easy to keep it in the freezer and just pull out what you need. If you put it on the menu, people will ask for it!!! read more

The food is always of decent quality. The decorations are all over the place, but it lends itself to the experience. Service is slow so don't expect to be in and out super fast. We dined at Huckleberry's today as a party of 7. We come here every so often and never have a bad experience. I will say that the manager seemed more like our server today. Our server took our order and that moment forward the manager is the one who checked back on us, made conversation, refilled drinks, and bussed our table. Our server was no where to be found. We were here in July 2021 and are back in town this week. From the bayou ambiance, Cajun music and friendly staff, we loved this place as soon as we entered. I had the New Orleans Skillet and Ysabel had the Louisiana Omelette. Both were huge portions and perfectly prepared. Both had shrimp that was cooked just right. Ysabel's huge blueberry muffin was great. She took half home. My only complaint was the biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was delicious however the gravy was cold and needed more pepper. We were pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant it was packed so we chose a nice table on the patio. We had a wonderful experience at Huckleberry's. This was our first trip here and we are thankful we made the drive to Oakdale. Alex was our waiter and took time to answer our questions. We started our meal with Huck's Sweet Tea and Beignets. My sons main course was Tom Sawyer Burrito with Chili and I had biscuits, gravy, hash browns and bacon. We both enjoyed our meals immensely. I'll give the waitress credit for taking $4.99 off the bill because of the pancake, and for being very nice and efficient. This is a pretty new place here in town. I stopped in with my kids on a Sunday about 11am for breakfast. The place is all freshly redone. It looks amazing! Great job! Hard to believe this was ever anything other than a restaurant. There was a wait list. Quite a few people ahead of us in line. We were told about a 20 minute wait. No big deal though as they had pretty comfortable seats to relax in while we waited. We only ended up waiting about 10 minutes before we were seated. The place was pretty busy but our hostess and server were still both very friendly. We never felt rushed. I started with coffee and a single shot espresso. Turns out it was my lucky day. She gave me a double by mistake. When I pointed it out she already knew and said it's a mistake on the house. Sweet! Food was great. The have a fairly vast menu with lots to choose from.
