My Mom and I made reservations here for a Belgian culinary experience. This restaurant came highly recommended from a friend. We decided to both order the chef's recommendation pre fixed menu.
1st dish was a plate of ham (jamon) lightly shaved and was very good. Next up was a small pizza with mushroom and arugula and was yummy. Kind of basic, but still tasted good.
Next dish, I think, was parsnips with some milk foam type thing. This one was very tasty. Small, but tasty.
The main dish was steak with fries. The presentation of the steak was great, but the steak, eh not so much. It was cooked medium rare, which I don't mind. But it was chewy. Not a buttery type of texture. So it was hard to enjoy since you spent most of your time trying to chew the damn thing.
Dessert was a thin filo dough type pastry. Light and fluffy with what tasted like a light nut butter in between. Topped with some powdered sugar.
All in all, cool experience. As an American, I'm used to top notch service with a pricey meal which is something that lacks here. But, that's ok and to be expected since servers in Europe typically aren't working for tips.
I would recommend coming here for a more artistic culinary experience while in Bruges. The inside had a cool/modern vibe. read more
