Very good food. Tapas style eating. The food is expensive, but you are paying for quality, not quantity.

I was impressed by the food and the salsa was actually spicy. If you're Mexican or even from California this spot will scratch that itch. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy good Mexican food. The decore was really nice too.

While 2 stories, it can't seat but perhaps 35 when packed. We arrived as they had just opened so could just walk in but reservations are definitely recommended otherwise. It's very intimate, warm and welcoming. The day we were there was cold and rainy so the fireplace was a definite plus. The owner speaks English very well, knows her wines, and makes you feel very welcome (the place is celebrating its 20th anniversary so they're clearly doing something right). They do live music on Sunday nights and play a great selection of jazz at a nice low level otherwise. They do a happy hour and in addition to what's on the menu, they have a rotating selection of good wines by the glass from around the world (had a fantastic Malbec). They have great tapas, soups and large shareable plates. We loved this wine bar gem in Bruges!

If you are wanting to treat yourself in Bruges or…read moreif you've met someone special and looking for a place to a fine dinner, the food at Hubert is incredible! I don't often order rabbit because it is a difficult dish to get right. 99% of the time it comes out too tough. This restaurant cooked it in such a way that it literally was falling off the bone tender. My server, Kim, managed the front of the house with confidence and was on top of everything needed. The restaurants attention to detail is impressive and the food is absolutely delicious!

A great dining experience with fantastic food!…read more We randomly stumbled upon this spot and opted for the lunch special that they advertised at the door that includes a "tapas" to start and an entree dish. I think "tapas" has a slightly different meaning in Belgium. The tapas was more like an one person portion appetizer. On that day, it was the smoked duck confit salad. Oh and btw, the restaurant doesn't have an English menu lol so our waitress briefly went over what they had to offer and we naturally went with what sounded the best LOL kept it simple and did the set lunch. We did add the carbonara starter to start~ wanted something hearty to settle my stomach and a familiar taste in the foreign land~ So first, back to the salad! Really light and full of flavor! We had no idea what to expect for a Flemish "salad" but it was definitely delicious! Much more delicate than the American Caesar salad! All the pieces of greens, tomato, duck and egg yolk really came together harmoniously. We had no idea what we stumbled upon as we were just hoping to sit down for some food on a cold hungry afternoon! And the carbonara.. I was disappointed when the waitress said it wasn't actual pasta but a vegetable dish made from a root veggie.. we hesitated but decided to get it anyway~ €9 for some carbonara... why not splurge on vacation? Well, we were really glad we did! Again, beyond expectations~ so much flavor and comfort in a small but powerful carbonara dish. Creamy and appetizing! It's def a dish that makes you want to crave for more! I would def recommend for others! As for entree, we knew the meat would be venison.. but what kind? How would it be prepared? The waitress couldn't elaborate.. and maybe the suspense added extra fun to our dining experience~ needless to say, the dish was nothing what we were anticipating! Potatoes were served on a plate first which we did mistakenly thought it was yellow venison meat at first LOL. Then they carried out two personal sized iron pots.. viola! It was a hot savory stew served with venison brisket? And some meatballs (probably made from venison too) in a veggie medley white sauce! It was so befitting on a cold day! We absolutely loved it esp for a couple who can't endure a whiff of gaminess. It carried none of that! The sauce was fantastic which coated all the meat and added just the right complimentary flavors. We were holding our bellies for sure at the end of our meal! So yes! I would absolutely recommend Hubert gastrobar to people who will be in the area! Very reasonable priced restaurant for a ridiculously high quality culinary experience! Def worth the buck!
