Fast forward to 1/5, i get 2 VM that they are coming between 11 and 3PM on 1/6. I take the day off, schedule my installer for 1/9 and no show, no call, nothing. Very poor and disappointing service. No clear contact info posted in delivery communication. Had to call Home Depot's manager for her to look up number in the system. Then, could only leave voicemail to get return call back with no one there to answer phones. Anytime info had to be communicated, they only sent repeated automated messages instead of calling and always gave conflicting information. I requested in advance for items to be rescheduled as I wasn't going to be home and needed to be to inspect for any damage prior to accepting the items, but they were very rude and not accommodating. Two women (forgot their names) were very uncooperative and unhelpful. They don't really care about damage to the items or to your property. I told them I needed to be present to make sure nothing on my property gets damaged and they said just let the delivery personnel damage it and then submit a claim. That's their attitude - go ahead and damage your expensive house with our careless delivery people and then waste your time filing claims to get a lowball amount less than what it costs to repair. I had to cancel appointments just to make it home by the unwavering scheduled delivery time that they so adamantly could not change to any other day whatsoever in the future no matter what. Then, the driver and helper wanted to use dollies to wheel huge boxes through a narrow passage that required the items to just be carried through. The guys agreed to carry the items, luckily, or else a lot of stuff would have been damaged or scraped in the process. Overall, this company makes it difficult, is not easy or friendly to deal with and has created very stringent policies without accommodating customers. Would highly recommend Home Depot, JCPenney, Wayfair, 1Stop Bedroom, Flex a Bed and Octane to find a better carrier to deal with. Ordered a Treadmill from ProForm and paid for threshold delivery. I was told: To ensure your safety during the delivery process, our specialists will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (mask and gloves). We ask that you practice social distancing during the delivery of your item by allowing our specialists six feet of space. No gloves or masks were worn. When they called to schedule the time I was told I'd get a 30 minute call prior to arrival as the gap was it would arrive between 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Nope, they called while they were in the front of the house, were rude to me, threatened to leave it by the mailbox, and tried to tell me it wasn't that heavy. I have a hill to get to my front porch, which is why I paid for threshold delivery. I reminded them I paid for threshold delivery so they did bring it up, shoved it through the door, mashing up the carpet, and when I asked them to be careful told me I should have moved the carpet and turned and walked out. read more

This is my second experience with NSD. The first time I had a product delivered by them (also ordered online from homedepot.com), they didn't show up AT ALL on the date they established. When I called, they told me the driver left the area and they could not get ahold of him. I took the day off to be there. This was a Friday, the product didn't arrive till the following Wednesday and this incident was Pre - Covid19. To avoid any issues the second time around, I thought I would call to ensure delivery the morning of. The rave "hold" music is an attack on your hearing & sanity, with volume fluctuations & beats in a constant loop. I endured holding for about an hour, to get a delivery window, to only be disconnected by whoever picked up the phone. Then I tried NSD's online "chat" function - but it doesn't work either. I ordered an exterior door made by @Steve&Sons from @HomeDepot. So called Home Depot. The associate reached a rep from NSD, but was told the same story I was told months earlier on my first order; " ... they could not get ahold of the driver, but it should be at our home by end of day". But guess what - the driver never showed. Next day, Saturday 9 am, I am calling AGAIN for an update. Now there is NO information available about my delivery online with my tracking #. Not wanting to waste another hour of my life on hold, I opted to have a representative call back. Rep calls back, but can't do anything bc it's a weekend. He tells me package wasn't even loaded onto a truck yet - I ask to speak to someone in logistics, as it appears this is a pattern of operations with this company. Rep informs me his manager will be calling Monday at 9 am on June 1 for an update. True to form, NSD couldn't honor their timing, so I called them. After an a 40 minute wait, I reach a sales rep who then reaches out to his "Dispatch Manager" , but "can't get ahold of them". SO I tell the rep I will wait on hold until he is able to reach someone who can give definitive answers. ANOTHER HOUR on hold passes, the rep NEVER ONCE checked in to see if I was there, still waiting - nothing. After OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF he returns and tells me his manger has been in a meeting and will call me back in ten minutes. Didn't happen. So another call to homedepot.com, as they are the ones who hired this company and canceled the order all together. QUESTIONS FOR NSD; 1. Why do you make up dates for delivery you don't intend on honoring? 2. Why do you tell someone their order is going to be delivered that day, when it's still not on a truck ( * and you aren't putting it on a truck for days)? 3. Do you not know that when you send someone a delivery date, that some people are going to have to alter their schedules to meet the driver? 4. Why do you tell your employees to lie to customers about their order? 5. Do you find waiting over an hour on the phone for a rep good customer service? THE TAKE AWAY; NSD is a third Party shipper. In my instance, Home depo picked this shipper not my door manager. They make dates and times for delivery up arbitrarily. They do not care about you, your package or your time. Delivery guys showed up, opened the truck, looked inside, then closed the truck and drove off. States we were not home for the delivery, they never knocked on the door. Then we were told they will reschedule in 48 to 72 hours, that never happened. Chat people were very rude and disconnected if we asked for a new ship date. Received a replacement from Amazon after about a week of no response. Then they said they were going to deliver it sometime in January. We told them to cancel the delivery, they said they did. A couple of days later that delivered the package without knocking on the door and placed the 300lb package against our garage. I wish there were a way to give negative stars to offset the 1.5 stars NSD has accumulated with thousands of reviews. I've now been waiting a week for a shipment to get from Romulus to Canton. They've missed multiple delivery windows in the past week after texting to confirm the delivery, without explanation. I even looked at their tracking and saw that one point, they got my item, a swing set for my child, from Livonia to Canton, but decided to turn around and bring it back to Livonia. The customer service was beyond rude and said they had five days to get me my order. I told her 5 days may be their standard operating procedure, but it's definitely not the policy to just sit on their thumbs and wait for the fifth day. Maybe I'm wrong though, and that's totally their policy. I see another reviewer emailed ExtraMile@hubgroup.com and changed her experience from a one star to a four stars. I'm going to give that a shot. In the meantime, I have a crying toddler at home wondering where his swing set is. I guess I'm going to have to break it to him that there isn't justice in the world, or maybe I spin it that people can perform far below the bare minimum expectations and stay in business, and that if he wants to underachieve in life, he can one day work for NSD. We ordered a Thule luggage carrier through Amazon and learned delivery was contracted through this company for delivery. Well when we tracked the item we see its been sitting at the local terminal for A WEEK! Delivery was scheduled for yesterday, 6/15/2020 from 6 AM- 9 AM, no delivery. This morning on their website it says our item was taken BACK to the local terminal at 9:16 PM, we were awake and would have gladly taken delivery of our cargo carrier at 9:00 PM last night. I purchased a large item on July 22, 2022. The item was expected to be delivered on Saturday, August 6, 2022. The item never came as a result to a truck breaking down. Redelivery was scheduled for Tuesday, August 9, 2022. The item never came as a result of not having a driver available. Redelivery was scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, 2022. It is now Friday August 12th and the item has been "out for delivery" for three days and now I am being told it may take until the 15th when the "scheduler" is back in the office. I have no faith my item will ever arrive and believe I am getting the runaround. All emails were ignored. No phone calls were replied to. And the chat agent who is able to interact with you can only tell you something along the lines that they will contact "the terminal". "The terminal" does not seem to be responsive both internally and externally and is not available during business hours, weekends, or evenings and the single person responsible for scheduling seems to have similar availability. There is no escalation procedure or credibility to the support they offer. The complaint form is not a form that allows for the integrity of the complaint to be maintained but a chat with a support agent. There is no confirmation or tracking number associated with this complaint form/chat. "Adequate" resolution on their part appears to involve only delivery of the item they've been unable to deliver. This is a horrible service provider who has very inefficient support options and in unresponsive and not able to provide actual solutions. read more

On January 6, I received an email from NSD which said I'd receive a call within two business days to schedule my delivery. I sent emails to customer service on January 11 and 14th to inquire about status, both of which went unanswered. On January 15, I chatted online with a customer service representative, who was unable to reach the local terminal and left a message. When I asked if I could please get the number of the local terminal to follow up myself, he told me he couldn't provide that to me. He told me to email ANOTHER email address (the ExtraMile email address) to follow up if I didn't hear anything, but why did I not receive a response to my first two emails that were sent to the regular customer service address? Still a mystery. On January 20, I dutifully emailed the ExtraMile email address, who responded and said she wasn't able to speak with the local scheduler, so she'd try again tomorrow. At 6pm on January 21, I hadn't received a call, email, nothing - so I followed up again to ask for a status. No response. Again. On January 24, I followed up via email to the ExtraMile team YET AGAIN, asking for a status update. The rep responded and said - again, that she hadn't been able to speak with the local terminal, but had submitted an urgent request to the terminal to schedule a delivery date. It was only at that point that I received a text to schedule my delivery. This was a complete and utter failure of customer service. I shudder to think how long it would have taken to receive my shipment if I hadn't followed up on a consistent basis - or if I would have received it at all. I completely understand that shipping companies are experiencing difficulties, but the lack of communication was appalling and inexcusable. My norditrack bike was delivered with the white glove treatment. The men who delivered my product didn't put it together properly. The front wobbles. UPDATE: two days after the treadmill was left in my house making a banging noise clearly indicating that something was not installed properly, it's no longer working. Not the greatest experience. Delivery was fast and on time but the installer didn't speak any English so communication was difficult. He didn't have the necessary tools to assemble the treadmill and needed to borrow a screwdriver to complete the assembly. We used google translate for that conversation. When he was done, he showed me the treadmill and kept pushing me to sign an acknowledgement form. I turned the treadmill on and it kept making an unusual banging noise. Installer still kept pushing paperwork towards me for a signature. They also left a mess of styrofoam and packing material in the room they unpackaged the treadmill. They definitely know in advance that they can't deliver their orders on time. They should have called to inform us about the delay and reschedule, but they didn't.
