I had a nostril piercing done at another local shop a couple years ago and had trouble getting the piercing to heal correctly. I didn't have a good experience when I went back into ask questions, change the jewelry, etc...and eventually ended up just taking the jewelry out and letting the piercing close after over a year of nursing it. Recently, after missing the piercing, I decided to pay HTC a visit just to ask some questions about trying again. I worked with a super friendly staff member (didn't catch her name) and piercer Richard, who took the time to listen to my sob story, discuss what may have contributed to my issues with healing, and review the piercing and jewelry with me in depth. I felt comfortable asking questions and Richard asked me several questions also, which made me feel like he cared about this experience being better than my previous one. It's easy to feel like an idiot when getting pierced - I never, ever felt like an idiot at HTC. I decided to get my other nostril pierced after talking with Richard. He asked what kind of jewelry I would be primarily wearing in the piercing to help place it correctly. He was friendly and professional, and took the time to review after care with me in depth and made sure I was set up with an appointment in 4 weeks to adjust the jewelry. Overall it was a 100% better experience than my first and I appreciated it so much. Is it weird to look forward to my follow up appointment? I absolutely love coming in here - whether it's picking out new jewelry, stretching my lobes, or getting a new piercing. The staff is always super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. I started stretching my lobes September 2015 and went here to kick off my journey. I did a lot of research (on stretching) beforehand and read through many horror stories, but here I am a little over a year later, comfortably at 2g (6mm) and did not experience anything more than mild discomfort. No stuck plugs in the middle of my sleep or cat-butt holes. My ears are incredibly healthy! I love that they used glass plugs as I'm not even 100% sure on what I'm sensitive to and I've read on other forums that the steel plugs others used had embedded into their lobes in their sleep! That's terrifying! I also recently discovered that they have sister shops in Oregon! The guest piercer was filling in for my usual suspects and had 10yrs+ experience!! That's amazing! The customer service here is super top notch! I was looking to have my septum ring changed out for the first time since getting it done 3 months prior. I had it done somewhat on an impulse, so I honestly didn't know anything about what types of jewelry options I had, the differences in designs, metal choices, etc. I'm allergic to cheap metal, so I didn't think ordering online was the best idea. But I was seriously nervous to go into a shop because I had A LOT of questions and kinda felt like I'd be judged lol. After seeing the reviews on this place, which said the women there were super nice and accommodating, I sucked it up and just drove over. Let me tell you I was NOT disappointed. I was there for an hour or so, between choosing a ring and getting it put in, and I was asking questions the whole time lol. If the women up front were annoyed with me, they didn't show it in the least. They gave me the price of each individual ring (and there were at least 20 I asked about), gave my sizing advice and style advice, and even answered my questions regarding some other piercings I've been considering. All the while being super friendly and smiling and laughing with me. In the end I walked out with a beautiful new septum ring, and the full intention to go back and get my other piercing done within a month. Thanks for the help ladies! read more

Got my septum pierced by Richard late September I'm not sure if it was due to my high pain tolerance level or how skilled Richard is but I didn't even feel the needle go through me! Next thing I know he's screwing on the ring lol the place is clean staff is friendly and knowledgeable. After being here I don't think I could go anywhere else for a piercing. I first got my anchor/dermal done back in summer of 2016 with one of my really close friends. Marilyn answer all the questions I had, and assured me that I wouldn't be left with a hole in my chest. Everything was pain-free and quick, and I really appreciate that. Fast forward to January 12th, I had to get it removed due to upcoming heart surgeries. Marilyn kept me calm the entire time (even though my soul was crushed due to me removing it), and even offered to keep the jewelry and sterilize it, that way I can get it done again once all this heart stuff is figured out. I love this shop more than anything, and I love everyone there. I've never had a bad experience with any of the workers, or even fellow customers. Even when I went to get my anchor/dermal removed, the customers wanting to get pierced said that I could go first, since I was just removing mine, wished me luck and good health these upcoming weeks and we even bounced ideas off each other on what to do with all our piercings whenever we have surgeries/mris/etc. You guys are a blessing, and I couldn't thank you more for treating us like family and friends rather than just paying customers. read more

Fantastic, great experience and super quick and easy. I got my nose pierced at another joint about 5 months ago. Wish I had of just gone here in the first place. I didn't have a bad experience at the other place, it's just HTC was great. The nose ring I got after my stud at the other place felt like it was too big, the girl at HTC right away said it was huge so I got it switched out for a cute silver ring. Went in last Friday to get my Lobes pierced and had a very good experience. Mel at the counter was very nice and even went in the back to make sure they had the studs that I wanted ( They had a pair left just for me). First and foremost, the atmosphere at HTC Uptown is perfect! As soon as you walk in you feel relaxed and all the jitters go away. My boyfriend and I were greeted by Brian (Bryan, don't know the spelling). He was so nice and just spoke to us like we were all friends. I got pierced by Jacob. Once I got there Victoria (front reception) was so cool and super helpful. She answered all my questions and explained to me all the options I had. I went back to the piercing room and it was clean and very organized. Marilyn who did my piercing was very friendly, funny, and made me feel comfortable even though I was kind of nervous. She followed safety and sanitary protocol: sterilizing the tools, wearing gloves, etc. I went back again recently to get my nose ring downsized and the service was great as well.
