Overcharged for a rushed hack job. Being a professional shop (it is a nice place, atmosphere and staff wise) I was incredibly disappointed that the artist is here simply for a check. What I got was worth 1/4 what I paid, maybe less. Blown out lines, no attention to detail, purely rushed, this artist should not be doing tattoos on paying customers. After letting the tattoo heal some to see if it would help at all (it didn't) I called the shop, they didn't let me speak to the owner and had me speak to my artist, who tried to blame me for his poor work. Incredibly unprofessional, especially when I have multiple witnesses that I was not flinching or moving, and I've already had a real artist redo and fix the entire disaster. Don't come here, you'll get poor artwork for poor prices. read more

I was very impressed with this business! I called and they said walk-ins were accepted. I had a tattoo idea for quite a while to cover initials that were mine. They were courteous, and put me with a guy named George Miller. He never hesitated,said it would run 4-5 hours, it would run after closing or until I say enough. We both agreed to proceed until it was complete. It took exactly 5 hours, and we closed the shop. He was very efficient, didn't rush, completed all the fine details, cool guy, this was a very high quality experience and view the before and after pics and decide for yourself. However, I found that I was sadly mistaken on that hope when I visited this studio. The younger girl with pink hair working the front desk failed to help me and wouldn't even look me in the eyes when speaking to me. She was blatantly rude and disrespectful in not just her tone, but her demeanor and actions as well. The way she treated me was unacceptable and doesn't deserve to be in any place of public work or customer service. My experience here convinced me without a doubt that I needed to go give my business to some more socially-experienced and diligent people. Went to them last year for my sons birthday. He wanted a hand tattoo. We were told it would cost $600 because it was going to be at least 6 hours of work. He wanted it done that day it was about 12:30 so we cancelled his party that was supposed to start at 4:00pm. He called me at 2:30 and was done. That's as the first irritation as we spent $600 on basically 2 hours of work. It did look great that day though and my son was happy so I left it. Within a week lines were already fading. We were told wait a month because more might fade and they did. They said touch up would be free on phone/ We went back after a month and we're were to his hands still weren't healed and lines were fading because his hands were dry and now they weren't sure if it was going to be free. They told us wait another 2 months and contact artist. We did and asked if he can now do the touch up and I let him know I if he was going to be charging me more then we would go somewhere else it wasn't worth it at this point to keep paying him. He then started giving us excuses like my sons hands have a condition and are workers hands neither is true and didn't matter all we were asking for was a touch up on the awful job the guy did there. We ended up having to go elsewhere because he wouldn't honor anything and the Grand Avenue didn't seem to be helpful in making it right. read more

I just want to share our experience with Spider at this tattoo shop. Before the appointment my husband felt very comfortable with getting work done by him. Communication was great and his work looked good on his page. When we arrived to the appointment, he was a bit late, which wasn't really a big deal. Appointment was at 4 pm but after everything it was probably around 5pm by the time he was actually getting started. During the appointment my husband felt comfortable with him and the work he was doing. As the hours went by I noticed some areas didn't look evenly filled in but I was sure he'd notice and fix it. Once the time got closer to 8pm and other artist it's began to leave, it felt rushed. It was hard to tell if it was just us noticing some issues and maybe it would look good once it was healed. Now that it's healed, there are many spots where the black is uneven and very noticeable. You can tell it's darker where he began (left side) and spotty in the areas towards the end. The outline is also darker than the rest of it and not very straight. Overall, we were very unhappy with this work especially being my husbands first tattoo. It's so bad that we don't feel comfortable with giving him another chance to "fix" it. read more

I called ahead as a walk in but it was hard to hear. Upon arrival I was greeted and to my knowledge was told on 3 seperate occasions a navel piercing is $17. It is not it is $70. Big shocker. This is not my first time getting this peircing though my artist was extremely gentle and I can honestly say no pain even with my scarring! ***DO NOT GO HERE!!!**** I took my 15 year old daughter to get her nose pierced. Once we got there, we spoke with the guy who would be doing her piercing. He advised using this particular post that is a "better" product and recommended it because it doesn't come out .. etc.. of course, it was the most expensive option. But it's my daughter, so I said "yes, let's do whatever is best for her. The post itself was really big on her and snagged on everything because of the size. It also ended up giving her a large bubble growth on the outside of her nose ( which was gross.) we went back in to ask him what to do and if he could please change it out for a different post. He would not and said to leave it in like that, eventually it would heal and go away. That wasn't good enough for me. Took her to another place and the guy asked " where did she have this done?" I asked "why" and he said " the piercing used is too big because it is actually use for lip piercings and not used for nor should ever be used for nose piercings!!" He happily replaced it with the correct post and it fit perfectly. Within a day or two the growth on the outside of her nostril disappeared since being replaced. I was pretty upset and decided to call Grand Avenue Tattoo to speak with the owner/ manager. Of course, he happen to have "just stepped out" according to the hostess/receptionist person. I explained the whole situation with her and left my number for the manager to call me back. Still haven't heard back from them. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! read more

Came in last week for my first tat. For some reason one of the guys out front recommended Andrew. He agreed to meet me at 1:30pm. It's wasn't until about 3:45 before he actually started on my arm. I asked if I could come back on Saturday so we could do more work & make any corrections. He told me was booked. However Saturday on his IG story he had posted I have open availability today. I sent him a text Monday morning about coming back in to continue this process & still have heard nothing back. I gave the dude 500 for a shitty outline on my arm. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This man with two nose piercings and long front teeth (don't remember his name) was rude from the beginning and it was definitely racially motivated. Me and my sister were taking my mom to get a tattoo of her now deceased mothers name and the minute we walked in this man had attitude in his voice, greeted us with a disrespectful tone and proceeds to treat us like we were not about to pay him for a service. He yanked my sisters phone and was huffing and puffing already saying he couldn't deliver what my mom wanted then why are you a tattoo artist? He had his feet up, no type of professionalism, it wasn't an open vibe and quite frankly made all of us every uncomfortable...he didn't want to do the tattoo from start and he made that very apparent. He didn't care about the name or the reason for the visit it was so disconnected and foul. IF YOU ARE BLACK DON'T EXPECT TO BE TREATED WITH HUMAN DECENCY IF YOU COME HERE. I just went in today and got my nose pierced and the guy that did mine was really thorough with great questions just to make sure I got it exactly how I wanted it and what would work best for me. He gave me all kinds of tips for keep h it clean with makeup and wearing a mask on top of it and I felt really good about taking care of it after I'd spoke with him. He had a lady apprenticing with him who seemed very well rounded as well and I'm sure she'll do great too! This place disappointed me. They gave me an ok tattoo that just anybody could do, but then charged me an exorbitant amount of money. I had to haggle with the artist about the price, but couldn't go any lower due to not wanting to make him upset during the tattoo.
