Now THIS is comfort food! Went here on a weekday morning…read moreand were able to snag a spot immediately. We ordered a latte and a sparkling lemonade. The latte is by far my favorite coffee in Austin, super flavorful and perfectly sweetened. The sparkling lemonade was very unique and super tasty. Now to the food, the biscuits and gravy is simply to die for, the gravy has a beautiful depth in savory flavor, the biscuits are flaky and buttery, it comes with some tomato on the side which cuts the richness perfectly. We ordered a side of the hash brown casserole which was buttery cheesy goodness which we couldn't get enough of. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich, which looked small but was very much mighty. We asked for an everything biscuit for the sandwich and it was again baked to perfection, super savory and incredibly tasty. Food came out quickly, with very friendly staff including the owner checking on us and bringing us our orders. Our meal was priced very fair, and didn't break the bank for two people including two drinks. We will be back many times, thank you for the wonderful experience! We Lynnys!

The music can be loud so bring headphones if you like. I can't get enough of their tacos-their tofu is so darn delicious, and paired with their black beans, potatoes and red salsa is chef's kiss! I love that they have a great variety on their menu, and vegetarians/vegans have hearty options to choose from! Their patio is large and divine; there is often live music out there on the weekends. Accessibility: wheelchair accessible front door and bathroom. Varied table heights.

It looks like peanut butter chocolate. If it's chocolate all through, it would make a difference in my decision to buy it in case it is too rich one way or the other. I didn't want to go through the hassle of a refund if it didn't taste/ wasn't the flavor as expected. All baked goods there look delicious but, debunking the 'mystery chocolate' one might also be good for staff to know for patrons/ customers that have any allergies! Luckily I don't but, the staff not being able to answer and their attitude behind it was offputting to purchase anything. I appreciate you addressing this and hopefully, I will get to try it! ---- Don't ask them any questions about their baked goods. Three people behind the counter did not know and will give you the same response: they're from a third party vendor.

The prices are great, the portions are humongous and the staff are wonderful and cheery. Everything a 5 star diner should be. They have a GF menu, a breakfast menu, and lunch/dinner menus you can grab from the baskets on the wall. It looks like there were a lot of healthy options for lunch/dinner on the menu too. You order at the counter, grab a number, and sit down. We had a breakfast sandwich ($10.99) and a side pancake with bananas and whipped cream. The breakfast sandwich came on a wonderful flaky croissant and was massive - the chipotle honey glaze on the side was also so unique! They drew an adorable smiley face on our pancake too! The gigantic breakfast sandwich, pancake, and vanilla iced coffee (which was delicious by the way) was under $20. Great experience - I would come again and again :)

It reminded me of Indian spices with a little potato vibe, almost like a samosa in a new form. Hard to explain, but definitely worth trying for yourself. I also loved that the menu had plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, plus a lot of gluten-free choices, which makes it a great spot for anyone with dietary restrictions. Another fun touch is that the restaurant is attached to a little shop with unique trinkets to browse, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. I think this place would make a perfect date night spot, you can have a great meal, then walk around the area afterward. I'd definitely come back again.

I have held off on a previous bad review of Bureau de Postre, but now with a second 1 star…read moreexperience I have to post about it. My first 1 star experience was when my wife got food poisoning and when I went to inform the chef the next day he told me she was sick all night because she probably drank too much wine. Here is the reason for my second 1 star experience from this restaurant. Went today for a noon reservation on Mother's Day. Firstly, tons of kids here, no kids menu of any sort for Mother's Day. Their option was a grilled cheese with fries, which we were appreciate for, but why would you not think to have options for kids? Fruit cup, small burger, etc. they have these options during normal operations. Second, no one answers the phone here. I called 10+ times between 10am and 11:45am to request indoor seating. By default, they don't answer the phone nor do they at tiny grocer. One of the legs at the table they sat us at was so off balance that our drinks were spilling when someone would add pressure to the table. We had kid with us, so we ended up using three napkins in full cleaning up the spilled water. They missed putting in our order so, every table around us was served before us. We didn't get our food till complaining multiple times. Even after complaining tables around us continued to get their food first. To hold the table over I asked for fries to be delivered, something that should take minutes to prep, took another 15 minutes. Our food finally showed up at 1:15pm. We asked for to go boxes and even the boxes took 5 minutes. What is going on over here? I spent $20 at tiny grocer getting so many snacks for the kids because the food was so delayed. The entire table (minus the two toddlers) ended up leaving with zero food in our stomachs, but extremely frustrated. The manager comped our meal, which was very kind of him and he expressed tons of empathy. Classy move 100% This place is expensive and they just don't have it together. I don't like giving poor reviews, I rarely do it, but given this experience multiple times it's needed.
