My experience with H & R Towing wasn't bad, Maria and her staff were friendly and kind. They answered ask my question and always had an answer for me. After calling them numerous times. Thank you read more

very unprofessional driver blocked the street I lived on for almost 20 minutes. when I got out and simply asked how long it would be, driver began to yell obscenities and was cursing. He sat down and said he wouldn't move until I left him alone. I just asked how long he thinks it will be (I could wait) he says to F off. I called to report and they did not take it serious. I had to drive around to get home, and there was no way for people to get out of the neighborhood until he was done. Other entrance is enter only, and he blocked the only exit. I don't know who owns this company or who hired this man but it is absurd how uneducated and unprofessional this employee was. read more

Alex towed my vehicle from San Francisco to Stockton and was very communicative during the process. Five stars thank you!

Look, it's a tow company/tow yard. If you're doing business with them, chances are high you're not having the best time of your life. That said, in both my experiences it was due to an accident where my car was totaled and these guys came out to service my AAA roadside request. The drivers were always nice and response times were fast. However, I think what I appreciate most is that this family run business has always been considerate and helpful - even if it cost me some $$$ to store my car on my first accident. But that was my fault (pay for collision insurance, folks). This most recent incident where I was tboned, I came to the yard to retrieve belongings before insurance came to tow the car to their lot for inspection. I was super bummed that I wouldn't be able to take my hitch off because those things can be pricey. I had lent out my tools, nor was I dressed to work on a wet and oily floor, so I figured c'est la vie. The owner/husband (I think) grabbed some wrenches, got under the car, and took it off for me - which he had no obligation to do. The absolute GOAT. So yeah, it's a tow yard. Don't f*ck up and get towed for something you did, because it's going to be a bad time no matter what. These are good folks - especially in a thankless job. read more

AAA dispatched HR towing and while the operator was nice enough, he came up with prices on the fly. He seemed to want to make back whatever AAA was covering with exorbitantly high prices; initially, he quoted me $250 price for 5 miles (5 miles over my AAA coverage) and only let me talk him down to $150 for 5 miles which is still $30 a mile! Absolutely insane. Honestly just seems to try to gouge as much money out of each unfortunate situation that they can. Would never recommend to anyone. read more

AAA sent me several messages stating that they couldn't find a tow truck to help me with my broken down vehicle. Finally, they found somebody and it was HR towing. As soon as I got the notification, they were there in less than five minutes. Victor pulled up and knew exactly what he was doing. He told me what to do with my vehicle so he can get it on his flatbed truck. He was very respectful and kind and help me with his expertise. It was a great value through AAA. If I had to do it without AAA, I would definitely reach out to HR towing. read more

chp towed to this yard and usually its $50 a day for storage fee but this place wanted to charge 150 a day. not only that but my things were moved around. not sure if the chp searched the car without my consent or if the tow company did. either way its a violation of my privacy. so thanks. read more

Alex and his team at H-R towing were amazing. I put in a service request with AAA for my car that was in a parking garage at Union Square. The driver (Francisco) immediately reached out to me to update me on his arrival time and when he arrived tried what he could to get my car started. Francisco told me since my car was a plug in hybrid, he could tow me out of the garage and he would call for a flatbed to take me to the dealer; with plug in hybrid's if you tow them with a conventional tow truck, the electrical motor can get damaged. Alex then called me to tell me they did not have a flatbed available right away and they would tow my car to their yard and then take it to the dealer on a flatbed. H-R towing took my not so great morning and made it better. Great job H-R!!! read more

Hit a semi tire late on Sunday night on I80 eastbound bay bridge. Once AAA finally worked out my location (app was useless), Alex from H-R arrived within about 20minutes. He was superbly professional and courteous. Forgot to get a copy of the invoice at the time, but one phone call and Maria (also incredibly courteous) had a copy texted to me within 20 minutes. A great outfit that I hope I don't have to use again! read more

Great, fast, and courteous service! Alex was quick to rescue me from the Safeway parking lot. And I do love a flatbed for a tow! Alex conscious of the time the dealership closed, like lightning he worked and headed out and got to the dealer before they closed to secure my car. He actually seemed like he cared! So rare these days. Anyway, no muss no fuss. Nice guy, too. Five stars for all of it. Thank you, Alex and HR Towing! read more

Fraudulent! Con artist! They lied and threatened that they were told by the CHP to two the car, even though it was a simple flat tire (happened literally 10 mins before they arrived) and the car was pulled over safely to the shoulder. Then they demanded $300 to put on the spare tire. I am reporting to the CHP, and will file a complaint. Falsifying that you were sent by the highway patrol will definitely have legal consequences! read more

Francisco from HR Towing was very professional, kind and informative. A great company that cares for community first and getting the job done effectively. Thank you so much Francisco for your service. Coming out to Treasure Island after going to an incorrect address (not his fault). He was patient and reliable. Highly recommend this company to others! read more

Horrible horrible HORRIBLE. If i could leave a negative, i would. The guy who answered the phone was EXTREMELY and i mean EXTREMELY rude. We had an accident and sfpd towed the car to this place, he accused ME of being DRUNK over the phone all because of his incompetence to understand what was being explained to him. They are so greedy that they dont even hear what you are trying to explain but just throws numbers in your face. AND HE HUNG UP IN MY FACE. After telling him that we were outside of his company at 5 AM in the morning and was willing to pay the late hour fee. I dont usually write bad reviews but trust me when i say, STAY AWAY. read more

H-R towing saved the day for my partner and I yesterday! Car broke down late at night and Alex, our driver, was incredibly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable in finding us an auto service where the car could be towed to and left over night for service the next day. Excellent customer service and made sure the auto service shop was close to where we live. Big shoutout to Alex and would highly recommend H&R towing as needed to anyone!! read more

My car was stranded on the freeway and I blew out both my front tires. I called AAA and they sent a truck out from this company. When the guy comes up he said he cant tow my car because its too low. Well yeah both my front tires popped. So he kept saying that he couldnt tow it. But then all of the sudden if I was able to pay $400 then he could tow it. So I got robbed on the side of the freeway. What other choice did I have. Then all of the sudden he was able to get my car on the truck. Then when we get to my destination he destroys my front bumper and then takes my credit card info and doesn't even give me a receipt. Damn freeway pirates. Preying on the desperate. read more

After driving for 1.5 hours to an pre determined time to purchase a vehicle that was on craigs list 5 days prior we were told ten minutes prior that someone else was in route to purchase the car and that it was first come first served. We arrived before anybody else and where told the car was sold. When i asked the gentlemen standing at the garage door what kind of B S they where running he told me the car wasn't for sale 5 days prior . i don't live in S F and didn't pick out a firebird for sale deep in the city out of the blue the man then f***you 4 or 5 times then he flew there colors when he said f***you whitey get out of here I said i was born here and left . hopefully this is not reflected by all there drivers for i have a lot of friends that are tow truck drivers. read more

I'm surprised by the bad reviews. Hector cheerfully drove me all the way to Sacramento from SF late at night with my terrible car in tow. Nice clean truck cab. Felt safe enough to take a nap on the ride home. He arrived within like 20 mins of me calling AAA. read more

Honestly I never thought I'd write a review for a towing company, but here I am. I called AAA for a tow in SF at 6:12 am, and Walter showed up within 7 minutes. I couldn't believe how fast it was considering that it takes so long to get across the city with all the lights. I had originally been quoted 45 minutes. Having had car troubles before, I expected to wait a while. Walter took my car up to the service center, but since it wasn't open yet, he offered to wait with me until it opened at no additional cost. Luckily we were able to drop the car off right out front, so it wasn't necessary. I think the best customer service is when you don't even have to think about the effort, and Walter made the process painless. Thank you! read more

USAA directed me to HR towing. They originally had dispatched another towing company but after multiple attempts to contact them to get a status, with no response to any, I decided to call UsAA to cancel. I hope USAA does not contract that company again. Anyway, after almost an hour of waiting for HR towing driver, I decided to call the company to cancel due to the status on the tracker stating my driver should be arriving soon but it didn't arrive as expected. When the dispatcher said the driver was 5 minutes away, I decided to keep it. The driver, named Julio arrived, I asked it it was alright to ride along to my destination and he responded "yes, if it's ok with you". He was very friendly and understanding. He was easy to talk to and was good conversation. I felt comfortable with him and he made the already gruesome process of waiting for a tow truck, smoother than expected. Thank you Julio. read more

What a bunch of NASTY SCAMMERS!!!!! Flying in when you get into an accident, being all nice and crap, acting like they care. Then 2 days later when you try to get your car towed to your mechanic, and they say: "That'll be $1018" Sorry but NOPE. Why isn't there a NEGATIVE STAR available? read more

My Nissan Leaf ran out of battery range today (first time in 3 years and I got too cocky I guess) and I broke down in the middle of the lane on a busy surface street. I called the first tow truck company I could find in West Sacramento and thankfully these guys were the first ones I contacted. Jimmy from H.R. Towing showed up and was friendly and professional. I'm really glad I reached these guys, they were super quick and got me out of a difficult situation. read more

Thank you so much H-R Towing for your help today! I spoke with Hector and he was kind and professional. Everything went exactly as Hector said it would...communication and timing were spot on! He let me designate a pick up time!! That's great service :) His driver, Mohammad, was amazing. I was driving behind him and saw him stop for a JAYWALKER to pass safely. I wish all SF drivers were that courteous! PS ~ I read some of the other reviews...some didn't use the service. Sometimes Yelp is a bitch session for miserable people... read more

As always, quick to respond, which obviously is very important when you are caught short and need help now, always friendly, and always a great value! Thank you Hector, Maria, and Crew. read more

If there's a negative star I would rate them as NEGATIVE! Waited for almost two hours and they cancelled without notification even after I confirmed with their phone representative twice that the tow truck was on the way. After receiving noticed that a new tow truck company was dispatched, I called HR towing and conveniently, they didn't pick up their phone. UNPROFESSIONAL & HORRIBLE SERVICE!! DO NOT USE and I will complain with my Insurance Company to be aware of HR Towing! read more

After two failed and half-hearted attempts by lesser tow companies to get my 1974 BMW with a stuck wheel out of my garage, Hector's smiling can-do attitude was a real breath of fresh air. Within five minutes, he'd jacked it up, taken off the stuck wheel, knocked the rust off the stuck brake to get the wheel rolling, and helped me push the car out to the street where getting it on the flatbed and to the mechanic was then no trouble. A routine job for Hector, I'm sure, but a huge relief to me after my previous experiences with unhelpful tow drivers. I can't recommend H-R Towing and Hector enough -- they'll put your mind at ease during an often stressful time. read more

HR Towing did two towing jobs for me. The tow truck driver was professional, knowledgeable, efficient and kind! He put my Land Rover on the flatbed in minutes. On the second tow, I could not be with my Rover. Maria at HR was amazingly helpful and so considerate of my disabilities. She took care of every detail and was very helpful in a stressful time. My thanks to her, the driver and ownership! You can feel safe with them. read more

They take advantage of people in accidents. Most people do not have a car totaled everyday and typically the ones who are unable to get it fixed are those without money (like myself). They gave me zero dollars for my car and said my only option was to sign it over to them and pay for them to tow it elsewhere (I had AAA tow it to them). They will be receiving less business after AAA removes them from their list and I hope that they stop these predatory practices. I think ultimately this will cost them more money in the long run. It is always better to do the right thing. Period. read more

Just want to say thank you to Hr towing which AAA issued for our towing today. VICTOR PAC WENT above and beyond we really appreciate it. Thank you read more

I have never used HR Towing but this morning their towing truck blasted it's loud truck horn in response to another driver's actions, while driving through my neighborhood. The loud truck horn was deafening to residents and pedestrians and unnecessary. HR Towing, please respect residential neighborhoods when you are visiting them. While I saw that another car took your turn at an intersection and that car wronged you (one person), the blasting of your truck horn was violent for pedestrians on the street (many people) and didn't change the situation or save lives (the main intended use of a vehicle horn). read more

It took a bit longer to get to me than I was expecting, but they were communicative. More importantly, Walter was very nice with my old '83 300D Mercedes therapy car, which was suffering from a busted transmission hose. Um. So this is the service the triple a connected me to when I called. They must not have to actually to do anything to get paid under their contract. First they told me the driver would be here in an hour, which I thought was a little long. I mean I'm middle of SF, not stuck in the dessert. When it got close to an hour and I didn't get a call from the driver, I tried calling the dispatcher to tell her to forget it bc I was going to call someone else. I called about five times and no one picked up. Nor did the tow truck ever come. Luckily I got through to another company that actually followed through. Wtf is wrong with these people? read more

I have never been treated so poorly. The quality level of customer service is so bad and so rude that you will be amazed that a company can speak to you and still want you business. I would say hang up and try another company before you they verbally assault you and treat you like you do not matter....because in their world you do not! If they treat you that bad imagine how they would treat your personal property. read more

100% a terrible experience. Last night I sat in my truck for SIX hours waiting for a tow, Allstate insurance turned to these characters for help who were of NO help at all. Not only was I given the run around, but after the "20 minute call" and waiting 20 minutes, I called back to hear a rude man/kid laughing and hanging out with buddies who told me it would be another 40 minutes. Then another 30 minutes after that. Then another 30. THEN THE TOW TRUCK BROKE DOWN and never came, and the dispatcher said he didn't believe it was broken down and the driver just didn't want to make the run. What service. 630 I placed the call for the truck.....I was home in bed at 130am. Thanks for nothin guys. read more

My car got stuck in SF because of bad transmission 3/3/17. Called AAA got us connected right away, wait time to get a tow truck was 3 hours, okay I understand, who wants to work on a Friday evening?! Excellent... at no-showing and wasting your time. Waited 1.5 hours after my insurance put me in touch with them for roadside assistance, and they disappeared after I called to see where they were and insurance called to tell me they cancelled. In short, they fail at operating a business. Reminds me of the Woody Allen quote: "80% of success is showing up." Obviously as they don't show up, it's unlikely they'll succeed at anything basic. Only use them if they will do it for $10 or pennies on the dollar. But good luck if you do! read more

These folks are nasty. They were blocking my drive way. I asked them nicely to move the vehicle close to where they would mount the car they were towing. They were blocking two businesses from operating. When I move my own car into my own drive way, one of the H-R drivers gave me the f-bomb like he owns the place. The nerve of these people. I sure don't want to do business with them. read more

After waiting for 2 hours for Knockout Lockout to give me a simple jump start, H & R towing came within fifteen minutes. I was doubtful after such a long wait, so I called them directly and told me the guy was five minutes away. The driver himself then called to tell me he was one minute away and would call me if he couldn't find me. The guy, I think Omar was his name, was courteous and had a very experienced and competent air about him. He handed me the slip to sign, and shone a flashlight on the dotted line, in a smooth automatic way. This was emblematic of the whole impression I got from the way he carried himself, he seemed to anticipate and be ready for everything, and then he closed my hood for me and gave me a smart farewell wave. Their equipment seemed to be the best too, the tow truck the guy was driving could have carried my whole car on the trailer bed (rather than dragging it, as most little tow trucks do). I know it's just one experience, one night, with one guy but the entire experience was smooth and easy. read more
