Wing saved the day!!! My contractor was stuck by the 101 ramp. My mechanic came and took a look. They figured the fuel pump broke so it had to be towed. My mechanic called Wing of ASAP towing - my anxiety died down! It took about 25 mins for Wing to come to our location. Bing-bang-boom, Wing hooked up the truck to his tow truck and voila!! I hit a pothole and got a flat tire. I called my insurance company, Geico, who called ASAP Towing at noon. ASAP said they'd be there in 90 minutes. Cool. 2 hours later I call back and have an irate lady frustrated that I'm calling to ask where the tow truck is. "It'll be there within the hour." Repeat this multiple times. The lady kept putting me on hold, not because there was other people calling. But because she didn't want to deal with me asking why the truck wasn't there hour after hour. Now, at 6 PM my car has been picked up. I call them one final time to tell ASAP that I'm unhappy with my service. Danny, from the San Francisco office snidely tells me that he does not care. There are no supervisors around to take a complaint. Danny then named my make and model, appearing to threaten my enhostaged vehicle. I thanked him for his time and hung up. Do not use these people. Philip and Wing made this horrible situation a little less stressful. Here's a big THANK YOU! Wing told me to call the dealership to see if my warranty has expired or not because if I'm not covered I would be paying $$$BANK$$$ to fix my car. Philip helped me punch in my number and the computer told him that they should be able to cover the charges. Omg I felt like 10 lbs had lifted off my shoulders. Quoted a price by his partner and referring person Will at ABC Auto. Explained the situation in detail to him over the phone before the tow. Once he arrived at the "job" I had concerns about the equipment he brought. I expected a flatbed. He never said using Dolly's would be extra when he hooked up the car ( I would have never allowed him to) once the car was at the shop (4 blocks away) I was told the price. Didn't realize I was missing out on customer service until I met Wing. AAA wasn't able to come out with a flat bed truck until late in the day and so began my search for a tow service. When requesting for a flat bed to accommodate a lowered car, Wing took the time to explain his dolly tow compared to a flat bed. I later learned as he was setting my car up that a flat bed typically would scrape lowered cars too. This did happen the previous time I used AAA. To AAA's credit, one of their tow service people was well equipped with long wooden boards to assist lowered cars onto the ramp of the flatbed without scraping, but this isn't typical of their service. Curious if that was his idea and he actually took the time to include that on his truck. Wing arrived in person within the time frame he proposed on the phone (45min - 1 hour for that particular Tuesday morning). Service with a smile. You can tell he enjoys what he does and takes extra steps to keep customers happy. At the end, he surprised me with a free pen. Obviously a marketing tool, but it's nice a small company like his takes some effort. I'm obviously not jumping up and down for a free pen, but as a wannabe entrepreneur, I appreciate that stuff I guess. The car looked great. No doubt of it possibly scraping on the hilly roads of SF. Wing tells me he tows high end cars too and is used to rigging lowered cars. He also warned me that some folks don't properly mount the wheels when it's on the flatbed and this can lead to bending of parts. I don't know about the bending part, but one AAA guy did strap my rim instead of the entire tire like I think you're supposed to. Although I already knew about the button in my car to disengage the alarm when the car's being towed, Wing clued me in on it as a pointer. Didn't sound at all like a know-it-all but you can tell he's experienced and he owns the company. If I ever need an independent tow, I'm calling Wing hands down. No hesitation. COMPARISONS: I have not used services from other tow companies, but here are a few thoughts based on brief telephone conversations with other towers. Maybe it was a good thing that California Towing as booked or else I wouldn't have met Wing. California Towing picked up the phone right away and greeting was friendly. ASAP oh yeah! They are quick, efficient and courteous. I felt very taken care of and it was worth the $$. My car broke down in the Sunset. I called ASAP based on the Yelp reviews and got a voice message. As soon as I hung up, I got a call right back from Wing. He was polite and sweet, and said to expect the tow truck in 30 minutes. Lo and behold, it came within about 20 minutes. The tow truck was clean and hauled my car onto the bed. Wing took care of my car, asked me how I was doing and what the problem was - it was simple, basic things like that that a customer really appreciates. Made an appointment to have my car towed to a repair shop and they arrived in a timely manner. The driver was very helpful and even briefly inspected my car to let me know potential causes of the problem. The ride itself to the repair shop went smoothly and the driver charged me the exact amount I got from the quote over the phone call a couple days earlier. Wow - great customer service! I called this evening about my very dead car battery, and got I some great advice over the phone. This wasn't an emergency (the car is safely stowed in the garage and I take Muni to work), so ASAP suggested it would potentially save time and money if I waited until I have some time during the day to deal with this. That way an auto shop would be open if it turned out the car needed more work or, if the charge held, I'd have time to put in the freeway driving necessary to fully charge the battery. Amazing. I am typically a leecher at yelp meaning that I only use it for my own benefit to see what services are great or not. But the service from ASAP towing has been beyond satisfaction that I needed to create an account myself and post my experience. Not only did Wing arrive on time and assist in getting my vehicle to where it was needed, he even provided helpful recommendations on what shops were good in the area. I had a great experience with Wing. The battery died in my car, and as a new driver in SF, I had no idea what to do. Wing was extremely understanding and helpful. He worked around my crazy schedule, even waiting outside of my building for my call. He got my car up and running in about 10 minutes and gave me detailed instructions on how to avoid this in the future. Exceptional service from Wong. I called several places and all quoted me close to $300 because of the aftermarket suspension on my car. Wing showed up earlier than he said and took great car of my car and charged half what other places were charging. He was flexible and more concerned with making sure my next steps made sense towards fixing my car rather than getting a quick buck and leaving me to get home on my own.
