I love this place! The food is very good. Their sandwiches have a huge piece of chicken breast which is seasoned perfectly. The fries are a bit spicy but go well with the ranch dressing. The banana pudding is to die for. Not too sweet. Everyone is super nice and attentive. They will offer you an umbrella while you wait in line. The best part is the music and the service. Heard about this place and saw the lines around the block thought I'd stop in and see what the fuss was about, so glad I did! Before we talk about the food let's talk service! Justin at the register couldn't have been more welcoming! In fact everyone working there seemed to have a genuine smile on their faces, and looked as if they're actually happy to be working there! Strange huh? In this day and age! I hope it's because the management is great and the company respects their employees unlike other fast food chains who force their employees to crack a smile or else! This is a small and pretty new company so I hope they stay good to their people! Now the food, I had the Sando medium spice, my girl had the same but mild! They both were delicious! The medium was a little hot at first but my taste buds got used to it and were very happy! Crispy but not too much, tender and full of flavor! A little messy but that's expected! Hits every single time! Their menu is not overly complicated so it is easy to familiarize yourself with the items they serve. The food itself is so fresh and tasty, packed with tons of delicious flavor. I was not a fan of seasoned fries initially as they could be overpowering but they make it perfectly spiced. I have not experienced any soggy or cold food here, which are both major deterrents from enjoying a good meal. I recommend trying their classic chicken sando and fries. The chicken and waffles is also highly raved about as well. They offer a plethora of sauces but my go-to is the come back sauce. I will pour that on everything. I like that the heat level can always be adjusted to individual preference. I suggest starting with mild for something guaranteed to be enjoyable and probably safest without hurting later on.. I can probably eat it everyday to be quite frank. Consistency is key to ensuring return customers and that is one thing I can confidently say that they have down to a science especially after going so many times now. Lines and wait times can be ridiculously long depending on time of day, but I can see why it is so popular. Price is fair for quality. Portion sizes are large and much appreciated. The crew is super friendly and dedicated to their craft. You can tell they each love their jobs and genuinely want to be there providing bright hearted services to all customers. Ok first off, I came here expecting a long line and I guess I got lucky, but I waited less than an hour to get inside (HUGE plus since everyone tells me they usually wait an hour to 1.5 hours to even order). Parking was also kind of tight, so be prepared to park a little farther and just walk to the restaurant. Most of the seats were taken, but since I had a group, one of our people just waited patiently while we ordered to snatch a table as soon as it was available. When I tell you that the service was amazing, it was AMAZING. The cashier was super sweet and helped us to order efficiently. When we sat down, a worker came by right away to wipe down our tabel and provide new condiments. While we were eating, we had ANOTHER worker check up on us to make sure everything was alright. I was so surprised because you would think this place was a fast food restaurant with the food they serve, but their customer service was proving to be otherwise. The noise level was a little loud, but very forgiving since they were playing bangers. Ok, so for the food...good lord, I love me a chicken sandwhich, and this place has one of the BEST chicken sammies I've ever had. You get this thick piece of juicy chicken that is well coated in seasoning and crispy when you bite into it. The fries were also seasoned very well and had a nice crunchy exterior and soft potato center. On top of that we also were offered waffles which was such a nice ending to our meal. Easiest 5 star review ever. The food is so amazing. The service at a QSR is unparalleled. Even with how busy they are, someone stopped to make sure our experience was great 4 times in about an hour. Allison was one of them, and there was also a younger gentleman that stopped by a couple times too. The guy at the register was accommodating, friendly and made some great recommendations. Let me start off by saying I love this place!! Today was a little bit longer of a wait, but as soon as I notified a howlin crew member they made sure to get my food out ASAP! Not to mention they threw in a extra free waffle which was by far the best waffle I've ever had!! They then continued to comp my order...for the wait...They are insane here!! Haha. I never ever write reviews, but for this place, I gotta!!! Such a wonderful experience. We waited for awhile in line with a coupon for $50 off. When we ordered, the employee assisting us was so lovely and comped the price difference after using our coupon, giving us a totally free meal! Every person we spoke to was so kind and genuine. On our way out they also gave us a free sample of their new drip fries (HIGHLY recommend). The food is so delicious!! Chicken is juicy and flavorful, big portions, good on every level. I'm going to start off by saying that it's worth the wait. I Stopped by Howlin Ray's in Pasadena this afternoon and there was what I would say was a small line. It was my first time here so I decided to wait in line. Overall, the line moved pretty quickly considering there's only one cashier. I did wait about 25 minutes in line to get in to place my order. Once I placed my order, I probably waited about another 10 minutes to get my food. That being said it was definitely worth the wait. This has been the best Hot chicken I've ever had. I ordered the chicken and waffles, medium heat and it was perfect. It was still edible but you can enjoy the chicken and the flavors. The waffles were nice, fluffy and airy just how I like them. They also had a really good flavor to them on their own. The order comes with three tenders and four waffle pieces, butter, syrup. (Chef's kiss). I ordered a side of fries as well and their ranch. Really good sauce, made in house. I am definitely going back. Definitely know that there will be a wait and I will be happy to wait in line. The Chef sent me a sample of their banana pudding and I have to say it was also really good and I don't like banana. I can't wait to go back. read more

This is obviously the best hot chicken in LA. It is SO Bomb! The chicken is super fresh and tasty. I've had Howlin multiple times before, this was my first time dining in and I was surprised at how nice the entire staff was. Justin was at the register, he was super cool, nice, personable. Obviously everything was delicious. Howlin rays lives up to its reputation. The chicken is crispy, spicy, and super flavorful. It also isn't too oily. I loved the fries as well. I know everyone keeps saying medium isn't hot enough, but I got "hot" chicken tenders and it was so spicy I started crying. This may also be the best restaurant in terms of service. Everyone was super friendly and would come by just to chat. They even gave us free drinks when we told them we drove from Santa Barbara. While there weren't a huge amount of tables, there was plenty of seating and people seemed to eat quickly. Even though there was a line, no one had to wait for a table. Came here on a Saturday at 10:30, 30 min before they opened. Got our food around 12pm. The food is absolutely delicious, the chicken sandwich was so juicy that juice were literally dripping as I bit into them. Spice was perfect, I got the medium and it was absolutely god sent. We also got the 3 piece chicken wings, along with chicken and waffles. Would come back, definitely would come recommend, but waiting in line for 90 min as a Pregoo was not as fun as I expected. My only gripe is the peach tea. This used to be my thing. The tea used to be homemade but now since they are big time it's in a can. The new sweet peach tea is horrible.
