After my wife doctor appointment we decided come to have lunch at Smokehouse Social Barbecue, this our first time at the Smokehouse Social BBC. The location use to be Dickey's bbc now the Smokehouse at this location. We step in the restaurant the interior looks very nice with Taxan bunk house look with garden faucets as paper towel holders that very creatively we like it. We look the display menu it look very good on paper then we decided the Smokehouse it have 1/4 lb brisket, chimichurri, provolone on sourdough. For side we order baked beans w/beans,potato salad and onion rings. They brought our meal the Smokehouse looks very impressive sandwich they cut the sandwich in half it looks good. I took a bite wow incredible flavors in the sandwich the brisket was incredible good I can taste and smell of smoke in the brisket the meat was very tender but was very impressive the chimichurri and the provolone cheese blended with the sourdough bread I love it. On the sidevwere the pickles and pickle onion on the side including the their homemade bbq sauce my wife and I were surprised how good the bbq sauce it have smokey flavor with little bit of a kick to it. I use it on the Smokehouse on the onion rings, potatoes salad the bbq have many usages. The potato salad and other incredible side rich flavors including celery seed flavor in potato add another level of flavor in the potato salad. The baked bean with bacon rich in flavor that we enjoy. The headed chef or owner of the Smokehouse came to our table then we talk to him we were very impresse of bbq thank you we enjoy it. We need come back their lunch specials from 11 to 3 PM.. Also try different items from their menu.

Wanted to stop by one of the newer BBQ additions to the Pasadena scene. Stopped by on a weeknight when it wasn't too busy. The interior has a bar feeling, which was welcoming. I got the St. Louis Ribs, onion rings and Smokehouse tacos. The ribs were hearty, and they definitely do not skimp on the meat; tender but still a bit tough to the bite. Overall, a worthwhile order if you're looking for something filling at the end of the day. The onion rings were a good compliment. Crunch with every bite. Since I hadn't eaten anything all day, I also had to get the Smokehouse tacos. I should have read more carefully but these are rolled up crunch tacos, which were enjoyable but my mind was set for OG tacos. Nevertheless, still worth a try; savory and flavorful!

I've been here a few times now for lunch and have tried their Smoke'n Brisket Burger, the OG BBQ Brisket Sando, fries, onion rings, and even their homemade thin cookie. The burger is solid. It's thick, well-seasoned, and has that nice smokiness from the smoker. They cook it medium to medium-rare, and it comes on a brioche bun. It's rich and heavy, so the pickles really help cut through all that flavor. The OG Brisket Sando comes with a good amount of brisket, and the BBQ sauce has a nice sweet and tangy balance. The brisket itself could be a bit more moist, but it's still pretty good overall. They've got a big menu with smoked meats, but most of those items are portioned for sharing. I wish they offered smaller BBQ meat plates for lunch because it doesn't make much sense to order a $50 platter just for myself. The sandwiches are great, but I've already had them a few times and would love to try more from the menu.

We just love Smokehouse Social BBQ. It is a drive for us out in Pasadena, but it is worth it. They have all types of BBQ, from Carolina to Texas style and more. There is something there for everyone, unless you are a vegan, than I would go elsewhere. The place is pretty and ever so clean. They go out of their way to maintain it. When you walk in you can smell the wonders of BBQ. They have a great menu and a full bar. The service is friendly and pretty fast. It can get crowded so make a reservation if they allow that (call them). We go on off hours and have never waited more than 10 minutes. But it is popular. Your server can help you with the menu and you can ask for certain things mild or so spicy you will need Tums. Just let them know. They also have great salads and their sides are the best. You can get it take away if you want. We love their Smokehouse sandwich which comes on sourdough with 1/2 brisket, provolone and chimichurri. Their Smokey Cuban has pulled pork, maple smoked ham, swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, all on a roll. For sides we love their Mac & Cheese, their brisket chili and their loaded baked potatoes are a meal alone. You can add brisket, pork or chicken to any baked potato. You will just love this place and you can take home and entire brisket if you want.

Came here on Thursday evening at around 630pm and there was no one inside so we were able to order pretty quick and dine in. There's a small parking lot but we were able to find a spot. Server was very friendly when we ordered. We ordered the Like a Boss which came with 1/4 lb of brisket and pulled pork, 1/4 chicken and sausage which we went for pork cheddar jalapeño. For our sides which you get 3 we picked potato salad, fries, and onion rings. We paid the upcharge for the blue masa cornbread vs the Texas toast. They brought out a plate with a small container of BBQ sauce which was a little sweet smoky and spicy. I liked it but I really wish they had different sauces and bottles out on the tables. There is a roll of paper towels at each table and bar top area. I liked the space but definitely quiet when we first came in but picked up after 7pm. As for food, I thought the brisket was super tender and I loved the flavor of the sausage. The chicken was very juicy but wish the skin was a bit crispier. The pulled pork was definitely the biggest letdown. I didn't taste anything and was not palatable without the bbq sauce. Cornbread was great and I loved the seasoned fries. The onion rings were nice and crispy, I didn't have the potato salad but was told that it was decent. I thought it was a pretty good deal for $41 for what you get and definitely fed the 2 of us with food leftover. I think if we came back we would just opt for the sausage and brisket.

First time trying Smokehouse Social! This spot is 5 mins away from PCC. Partner and I dined in for dinner and shared Like A Boss with these as our sides: onion rings, coleslaw, and mac and cheese. Service was pretty good. Staff is quick and prompt to make sure things were going okay. I had an onion ring that had flour dredging and the owner (I'm' assuming) corrected it immediately with a fresh bath of onion rings. These are good. Get them. The meats here are pretty good and more than enough to share between 2 people. We ended up having leftovers. Everything was cooked well and wasn't dry. My personal favorite would be the pork sausage. Bbq sauce here is tangy, but I liked it. The mac and cheese was just okay. It wasn't very saucy and was pretty try. Coleslaw is good. We didn't care for the toast, but I'm thinking of swapping it for cornbread the next time I dine in. Sweet tea is good here. Overall, pretty good dining experience. I'm down to come back and try their other offerings.

Finally stopped in and it was worth it! My wife and I have driven by the Smokehouse Social Barbecue so many times, always telling ourselves we needed to try it. Today, we finally made it happen, and we are so glad we did. The food was outstanding. We ordered... The Brisket & Pulled Pork: Both were tender, flavorful, and perfectly smoked. Sausage: Excellent. BBQ Beans with Bacon: Delicious. Blue Masa Cornbread: This was a standout, unique and delicious. Beyond the food, the service was top-notch. Jaime and Jensen, the BBQ chefs, were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. It's clear they take a lot of pride in what they do. We will definitely be back. If you've been driving past this place like we were, do yourself a favor and pull over.

This is our second time here and it was just a good, if not better, than the last time. We came on a weekday last time and couldn't order the beef rib. This time we were able to try it. I think this took over the old dickies. What I ordered - Beef Rib (only available on the weekend) - Brisket - Pork Sausage - onion rings Dish by dish - Beef rib was so good. $45 for a huge piece! I brought the bone home for my dog and leftovers for us. The meat was tender and fall off the bone. What more can you ask for. The last time I came, I ordered the pork ribs and those were also delicious so I'm glad we were able to get the beef ribs this time. - Brisket. SOO soft and tender. Brisket is always a hit or miss for us. It's either really good or really dry. This was one of the best ones we had. Definitely will order this again. Half a pound was about 3 slices. - Pork sausage. This was also good. It had a nice bite and great flavor. - Onion rings. I will say the last tine we had this was better. This time was fried a little too long so it was a little hard. Still flavorful. Little things to note: - Parking: Big parking lot but it can get busy during lunch/dinner times since there's other restaurants there. - You order before grabbing a seat - There's a lot of tables and a bar to sit. - They accept credit cards and apple pay - they have spicy bbq sauce. Highly recommend! Price point $$ - $15-30

Stopped by a during a 55-degree rainstorm, hoping for a warm sanctuary of BBQ to take home. Instead, I was treated to a ten-minute performance art piece where a young lady cleaned bar glasses and strolled back and forth to the kitchen, seemingly testing the limits of our invisibility. I stood at the register admiring their nice-looking bar until she finally decided to acknowledge my existence. While the interior is clean and the beer selection looks like it has potential, the ordering process felt like I was interrupting someone. They clearly need a dedicated person at the front. I ordered the "Like A Boss" platter, but the food temperature suggests the Boss had been out of the office for a while. The chicken was the lone hero. It was warm, juicy, and well-seasoned but the rest was at room temperature, which is a bold choice when it's freezing outside. The brisket was particularly sad, arriving both cold and dry, while the sausage at least had the decency to taste good despite its lack of heat. Then there was the Texas toast, an unsettling shade of yellow that doesn't occur in nature and a texture so dry it could be used as desiccant. I had mixed feeling about the sides. The loaded baked potato was oily and the Mac and Cheese was just okay. To top it all off, the baked beans I paid for never actually made it into the bag, and I decided that ten minutes back in the rain wasn't worth the effort to go reclaim them. Regarding the cost, the price wasn't actually too expensive but price isn't really the issue. I'm happy to pay for a product if it's flavorful and memorable, but this experience was neither. Other than the clean interior and the solid beer list, there isn't much here that would have me rushing back. I might give them another try someday, but for now, the most memorable part of the meal was the missing baked beans and the cold brisket.

It's a one-man operation, so wait times can be a bit longer if he's busy--but it's understandable. I loved the neon signs and the hospitality Rodney brings. You can genuinely taste the soul he puts into his food. That said, a few notes come down to personal preference--so if you enjoy it as-is, feel free to take this with a grain of salt. The ribs were incredibly tender--10/10. They were truly fall-off-the-bone. Personally, I would have loved a bit more of that smoky char you get from Texas-style ribs, but that's just my preference. Either way, Rodney clearly knows what he's doing. The potato salad wasn't my favorite. It leaned heavily on mustard, and there seemed to be a lot of relish or pickles, which threw me off a bit. Still, I'd absolutely come back again just for the ribs. The customer ahead of us ordered brisket, and I appreciated that Rodney was upfront about whether it was on the leaner or fattier side--that level of honesty goes a long way. Overall, the BBQ smelled and tasted great, and the pricing is very reasonable for the portions you get--it's definitely worth the value. If you enjoy good BBQ, I'd recommend making the trip to check this spot out before more people discover it. One thing to note: the ribs are truly fall-off-the-bone, so if you prefer a firmer, more "bite-through" texture where you can really gnaw on the meat, this might not be your style.

Bludso's brisket is tender and marinated just right. While some briskets are too salty, Bludso's maintains a light and balanced flavor profile, which lets me enjoy the flavor of the beef. However, be warned that some leaner cuts might be a tad bit dry. The pork ribs were also great. although they weren't "fall off the bone" soft, it's still one of the best ones I've had in LA. The sides were also good. They weren't mind blowing but they were definitely comforting. Overall, Bludso's is a great BBQ spot that I would come to again and again. Definitely one of the best in LA. Note: I do have to say that if you're from Texas, you might not be "wow'd". Franklin BBQ in Austin is leagues above both Bludso's and Moo's (first time in my life having brisket melt in my mouth!!). While portions…read morehave gradually gotten smaller as prices continue to rise, I want to focus mainly on the food quality itself. And overall, Bludso's is still a solid BBQ joint that I'll continue coming back to. Brisket - 4.5/5, Lean Brisket - 3.5/5. The standout here is definitely the beef brisket. They offer two versions: regular brisket and lean brisket. The regular brisket is well-smoked, with tender, moist meat that pulls apart nicely. The dry rub has a great balance of seasoning and flavor without overpowering the beef. My only complaint is that the brisket can be a little fattier than I'd prefer. On the other hand, the lean brisket swings too far in the opposite direction; it has too much lean meat. It loses too much moisture and ends up noticeably dry. Honestly, I wish they offered something right in between the two cuts because the flavor itself is excellent. Even so, the brisket remains the reason I keep returning. Pork Ribs - 3.5/5. The pork ribs are good, though not particularly memorable compared to some of the better BBQ spots around. The flavor is there, but the ribs were slightly dry and lacked the tenderness I was hoping for. The taste and texture just didn't fully come together for me. BBQ Chicken - 2.5/5. The BBQ chicken was probably the weakest meat option I tried. The chicken was properly smoked, but the smokiness completely dominated everything else. I couldn't really pick up much seasoning or flavor beyond the smoke, which made it feel one-dimensional and less interesting overall. As for the sides, the cornbread and baked beans were both above average. The cornbread had a good texture and flavor, while the baked beans had a nice depth and complexity that complemented the BBQ well. The mac and cheese, however, was a letdown for me since it tasted a bit dry. Overall, Bludso's BBQ is still a dependable place for BBQ in LA, especially if you're craving brisket. It may not be perfect across the board. Still, the quality of the smoked meats - particularly the brisket - keeps it firmly in my regular rotation.
