Let me start with, I'm horrible at planning anything! My fiancé and I went to view this venue and…read morewhen we tell you we fell in love with how gorgeous it was it's an understatement. The important thing to note here is that they do a lot of weddings! Towards the beginning they were undergoing a lot of changes within staff and it was difficult initially to contact them or get a response which was extremely frustrating. Once it got closer to our wedding day we got a new coordinator named Tessa and she basically saved my sanity because from that moment on I had no issues and felt so prioritized. Be patient with them in the beginning because you're one of many brides they speak to on a daily basis. Once you're wedding day is actually there, it will be worth every single penny. The food was amazing, the DJ is so good and attentive, our day of coordinator Hayley was also really nice and Victoria made sure to ask me if I needed anything she was there to make it happen. I can't stress enough how incredibly beautiful our wedding was and every single guest told us the pictures of the venue we sent did not do it justice. Also, get the horse carriage it's such a beautiful moment I shared with my dad then with my husband. We saw Tessa the next day when I went to pick up some things we left behind and she asked where we were going for our honeymoon and literally within the hour of us leaving she emailed us so many great ideas and recommendations. Lake Oak Meadows is lucky to have someone like her that is so kind, reassuring, goes above and beyond expectations, and genuinely you can tell she loves what she does. Thank you to everyone who helped create our magical day sorry if I was a stressed wreck initially but you guys definitely delivered and made me look good because like I said I can't plan anything accordingly. To see how great it turned out you guys definitely know how to make everything feel perfect. 12.2.21

Grab a bottle of their Grand Cuvée Reserve if you want something bubbly or my personal favorite the 17 Dolcetto Reserve (an 88point). MMM baked fruit and toasted oak. The property itself feels peaceful the second you arrive. The lake, the oak trees, the open sky -- it all comes together in a way that feels natural and romantic without trying too hard. There's something about being surrounded by rolling hills and water that just makes the moment feel bigger and more meaningful. One of the BEST parts about Lake Oak Meadows is how many perfect little spots there are. You can walk along the lake at sunset, find a quiet corner under the trees, or use the rustic barn and open fields as your backdrop. The light in the evening is especially stunning -- soft, golden, and perfect for photos you'll look back on forever. It doesn't feel crowded or overly formal. It feels calm. Intimate. Like you can take your time and really be in the moment. That's what makes it such a special place to ask such an important question. If you want a proposal setting that's naturally beautiful and unforgettable without feeling staged, Lake Oak Meadows is truly something special. I would be HONORED to be sneaky and take your proposal photos here! Email: hello@amandacantonphoto.com Instagram: @amandacantonphoto

They are mindful in their farming practices, ethical in their animal treatment, and you can taste the love. I was vegetarian for most of my life, mostly because felt guilty eating animals. When my health began to become effected by my lack of animal proteins, I slowly began to introduce meats. I bought from Whole Foods, it was "pasture raised," it was pretty tasty, but I had a hard time digesting it. A few years later I started buying my meats from a farm in Nor Cal and having it shipped. I didn't like that everything was frozen but I knew it was better than the grocery-bought stuff. Once I switched to Da-Le, was when I REALLY understood how important the methods of animal care are. The farm I purchased from prior, had no intel on feeding or culling methods, and when asked how they tended their animals, their response was, "we do what we want and they do what they want, we don't really tend them." I like the idea of free-range animals, but the vendor then went on to explain that they travel for great lengths of time and lots of people come and help out. It felt disconnected to me, like it was all for profit not out of love for the methodology of farming and providing the community with great food. Anyway, this is not about the "other guys," this is about Da-Le. I have built a beautiful relationship with Ashlie and her Laguna Beach Farmers Market crew, they always make great recommendations, and are truly engaging when you come to their booth. I don't feel rushed, I feel cared about! 3 years later, I am writing blogs for Da-Le, something that brings me the deepest joy, because I am so passionate about sustainability and wellness. My digestion of meats has greatly improved, and I personally feel it is because the animals live low-stress lives and eat quality food. I feel good about my consumption of meat when I support operations like Da-Le, and my body does too!

The eggs are delicious! Pick up a few dozen and enjoy. The young man was very nice and helpful.read more

We had our own space in the back room which was perfect for a group gathering. I had never been here before but loved how festive the outside was decorated for the holidays. They actually added even more decor after we headed out for the evening. Super cute. Our waitress was fantastic I wish I remembered her name (blonde). I had a glass of the GSM which was nice. The girls and I all ordered food and it sounded like the consensus was the dates were fantastic! I personally ordered the Brussels sprouts and those were awesome as well. I loved the sweetness from the maple with the salty bacon and light spice, yum! While there I saw a flyer for an event coming up next week that sounds super fun, I'm trying to make plans to attend. Overall it was a nice spot and I look forward to to coming back in, thank you!

The place felt cold and my parents were ready to go and get someplace warmer. The tap water tasted like chemical chlorine so didn't drink the water. The mimosas were good. My parents got the French toast. Very generous portions and probably could have just gotten one plate and share. They took some leftovers home. My turkey club on a croissant was ok. I suppose I had another vision of it but the thing was huge mostly due to the lettuce and I really hate having to break apart a sandwich to eat it. I think it could have been maybe grilled and pushed own more so I can get everything in one bite. My son liked the crab cake Benedict. My husband got the fried steak but the toasted (or limp) bread smelled and tasted rancid - like Ajax. Between that and the water smelling chemically, we were kind of grossed out by the whole experience. We told the waitress of the bread and she offered more breakfast potatoes which I think is the best thing on the plates, he declined. I mean for a $160 bill which is steep for brunch, I was just thinking have better tasting water (filtered) and tasty bread, make the room feel more warm, music was so loud I couldn't hear my parents across the small table, so just make the music more mellow and chill, less loud. I think it will be awhile if we decide to come back. From Chatgbt: Most likely cause: bread came into contact with cleaning/sanitizing chemicals (from a cutting board, knife, toaster, or counter that wasn't fully rinsed). What to do: don't eat it; rinse mouth and drink water. If there's burning, nausea, or throat irritation, call Poison Control (US: 1-800-222-1222) and let the restaurant manager know. My husband felt nauseous after but is doing ok. My son who had the crab said he feels sick and had some diarrhea. I think we will unfortunately pass from going there again :(

I was researching the Audie Murphy Ranch community when I discovered this place founded by the same man, Tom Fuhrman. My friend and I drove over earlier this month to check it out. We had no problem locating it. I was bowled over at how adorable this place was! As I ran back to the car to grab my camera to take pics, I came across a guy in a truck driving down from one of the residences. I explained that I was a huge Audie Murphy fan and just had to check this place out after reading about it online. He immediately lit up and said, "Well, now, because of that, I will personally give you a tour and the backstory on how this all came about!" He introduced himself as Chet and spent a good part of an hour telling my friend and I how he and Tom built this place with discarded material from Audie Murphy's own ranch after the original structures were torn down. The property is rented for weddings, receptions, hootenannies, you name it! My only regret is that I don't live closer to take advantage of this amazing place. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to check it out and that we had Chet as a guide who made the place personal. I think Audie himself would be right pleased!
