La creme, de la creme as they say... Seriously though, Da-Le's products and customer service will blow your mind. They are mindful in their farming practices, ethical in their animal treatment, and you can taste the love. I was vegetarian for most of my life, mostly because felt guilty eating animals. When my health began to become effected by my lack of animal proteins, I slowly began to introduce meats. I bought from Whole Foods, it was "pasture raised," it was pretty tasty, but I had a hard time digesting it. A few years later I started buying my meats from a farm in Nor Cal and having it shipped. I didn't like that everything was frozen but I knew it was better than the grocery-bought stuff. Once I switched to Da-Le, was when I REALLY understood how important the methods of animal care are. The farm I purchased from prior, had no intel on feeding or culling methods, and when asked how they tended their animals, their response was, "we do what we want and they do what they want, we don't really tend them." I like the idea of free-range animals, but the vendor then went on to explain that they travel for great lengths of time and lots of people come and help out. It felt disconnected to me, like it was all for profit not out of love for the methodology of farming and providing the community with great food. Anyway, this is not about the "other guys," this is about Da-Le. I have built a beautiful relationship with Ashlie and her Laguna Beach Farmers Market crew, they always make great recommendations, and are truly engaging when you come to their booth. I don't feel rushed, I feel cared about! 3 years later, I am writing blogs for Da-Le, something that brings me the deepest joy, because I am so passionate about sustainability and wellness. My digestion of meats has greatly improved, and I personally feel it is because the animals live low-stress lives and eat quality food. I have visited the Farmers Market in Old Town Temecula and had the most fun experience with Clint representing the De La Ranch(DLR) Meats and eggs! He is the most personable, delightful and pleasant salesperson at the market. When he is not there, the other young ladies are much more reserved and tend to be stand-offish in their interactions with customers which lacks something during the purchase. I can't remember if they even greet people as they walk up or pass by... Clints happy welcome is the singular reason I choose the DLR Vendor location regarding where and when I shop and purchase quality meats! Recently I missed him at the market and a neighboring Vendor told me that he may not be with DLR much longer!! How distressing and sad that news is if its true!! I will have to figure out purchasing from another vendor, find a way to order my meats or ascertain where he may be serving customers with a different Vendor in the pleasant way that he does! I discovered Da-Le Ranch about 5 months ago when I started to focus on eating high quality meat. Their lively booth at the Hillcrest Farmers Market caught my eye and I was instantly hooked! I ended up having a great conversation with Ashlie about how their animals are raised. I was excited to hear their red meat is grass fed and finished since I was having trouble finding meat that was actually grass finished, instead of grain finished. It's also hard to find pastured poultry and pork, so I was happy to see they sell that too! They have a wide selection of meat, from traditional cuts to organs, so I never get tired of eating the same thing every week. I've tried many of their meats, including beef roasts, short ribs, duck, chicken, bacon, pork sausage, lamb stew meat, eggs, etc. Everything tastes incredibly flavorful and high quality, but my favorite would have to be the Korean cut/flanken short ribs! They are so easy to cook (I just throw them on my cast iron skillet, sometimes with no seasoning at all) and they come out delicious every time! Their duck would be a close second though! I had never cooked duck myself before, so Ashlie sent me directions on how to roast it and it came out perfectly! I 100% recommend everyone try Da-Le Ranch meats, especially if you're looking to eat healthy, high quality animals! read more

If they really cared about their customers they would have thanked me for my first email notifying them that their representative at the Poway Farmer market giving out erroneous information about their products. But instead he mocks me for my yelp review stating that I should buy my eggs at .99 cent store. How pathetic! For those that read this and are looking for reasonably priced quality eggs I suggest you try Eben-Haezer Farm. I went back to Poway Farmers market and picked up a dozen of their brown large eggs. I have bought from their farmers market booths. I saw their address was close to me so wanted to drive and see their farm. Honestly could not find it and the diff map apps seemed to get lost in the general area. I was not even able to see where they could possibly be. Also those hills in Lake Elsinore are not covered in grass but a bunch of weeds. These guys are just at farmers markets and a "showroom" in San Diego. I personally question if they even raise the beef themselves. The meat at the farmers market is kept frozen. There is a menu of items they carry and they do not always have some of the popular items as they are limited with the portable freezers. But the cooked steaks are delicious. I have no question they are grass fed. I have now turned to The Naughty Pig in both Temecula and Murrieta for my grass fed beef and range free chicken. Better prices and more variety. I do not work for the naughty pig nor am I associated with them in any way. I am just relaying that they are a much better option than this "ranch" that I now doubt it's existence. read more

I discovered Da-Le Ranch at my local farmer's market (Little Italy) and what a find! Their local rep, Aleya Folkers, was my first interaction with the company and to say that she's a gem is an understatement. I had questions about the meat origin, feed, and many other questions related to health, availability, and composition. She was 100% dialed into what I was asking about and also clear about the extent of her knowledge. It made me feel confident that I was speaking with someone who knew her business and would be clear and directive about getting my needs met. On one occasion, she even redirected me to Dave, the co-owner and farmer. No Tommy Boy quotes here...just direct access to the butcher! I'm now a regular customer of their ground beef and eggs, and the ground beef is unrivaled by any of our local butchers. Sorry, even Heart and Trotter (which has amazing service, fantastic cold cuts, and duck eggs) doesn't rival the quality of Da-Le Ranch ground beef. To be clear, Da-Le Ranch sells their ground beef frozen and it's still THAT MUCH BETTER than anything I've had anywhere else, period. I can't speak for the rest of the meats, because I'm a ground beef junkie. This week, I'll be ordering 20 pounds of it. It's just me at home, in case you were wondering if I was feeding an army. At times, the farmer's market pop-up will struggle with keeping my favorite item in stock (80/20 ground beef), because 90/10 is way more popular. I get that and it's not really even a complaint... Their 90/10 is amazing, too. It's not my favorite style, but ohhh my goodness... their ground beef is just so damned good. How do I complain when it's so good? I typically pan fry the ground beef and salt it. Occasionally, I'll put Chulula on it or top it with a fried egg (which I may have mentioned that I get from Da-Le, too). I won't buy meat from anywhere else! I found Da-Le Ranch when I started going to the Farmers Market in Little Italy on Saturdays after Crossfit. There are more than just one option for buying meat and I've tested them all out. The reasons why I solely only go back to the ladies at the Da-Le Ranch booth are many. First off, they are very friendly and personable. If you have any questions, they are always willing to help you out. I usually approach them with some crazy recipe and they tell me the best cut of meat to buy for whatever dish I'm trying to make. They usually have a huge selection with great deals on anything you could want. Since I tend to buy lots of meat in bulk, they also have the option to let you pre-order to ensure they have exactly what you want with the right quantities. The quality of meat that I get from them is superb. I've never had any complaints and love everything I've bought from them. Before becoming a weightlifter, I was a vegan due to the ethical treatment of animals used for meat. As a weightlifter, it's very important that I get in animal proteins on a daily basis. I chose Da-Le Ranch because of the way they ethical treat their livestock.
