I would consider myself to be the ULTIMATE connoisseur of riding stables, I may only be 23 but I've…read moreridden regularly for the last 16 years and have competed at a world & national level in my chosen breed; Saddlebreds. Over the years, I've ridden with so many different instructors I can't even count, but if I had to ballpark it probably at least 15-16. I know what a good barn should offer and what you DON'T want. We just sold my last Saddlebred until I can pay for one myself (something I won't be able to do for awhile) so after taking 6 months off due to health reasons and grieving the absence of my beloved Saddlebred,I decided to call up Stacy Hennessy at Gerry Rushton Stables to book a lesson on one of their Morgans. Morgans, Saddlebreds, Arabians, and Half-Arabs (the other half is Saddlebred) are all ridden Saddleseat. As Morgans are similar to Saddlebreds and I was disappointed by the lack of high-quality Saddlebreds in my area, I moved inland since Gerry hauled my horse all over the West Coast for shows and I've seen their wonderful Morgans in action. When it comes to a riding lesson, I am EXTREMELY picky as I've had more than my share of lessons with phenomenal trainers of Saddlebreds, Quarter Horses, and now Morgans. Stacy & Gerry have VERY impressive resumes when it comes to Morgans and after my first lesson with them, I knew I had to come back as much as I could. I've worked more with Stacy so far, but had Gerry chime in today. Both of them know not only what they're talking about, but also how to explain it to the rider in a way that they can understand. This is a RARE combination and I am more than happy to drive over an hour each way to ride with them. The barn is beautiful and the horses are turned out to perfection. Nice big ring with a great viewing deck on the east side. I even get to hang around and watch for awhile, which is great since I'm a barn rat who will never outgrow her horsey fix. Lessons are very affordable, way less than what I pay in LA. I saw Stacy work with a beginner rider today and she does just as good of a job with them. An excellent find for me!

Love this place and the people there. My Granddaughter was always wanting us to drive by horses so…read moreshe could see them. We decided to get her lessons and see where that would take her. Erica and Stacy work well with her, she's shy and has anxiety. This is bringing her out of that shell.

Iv had 3 horses in training with Kate and I am MORE then happy . Kate has helped me sooo much With…read moremy horses and goes above expectations when caring for them . She's extremely educated with horses when it comes to care such as supplements or other treatments . Kates knowledge in training is outstanding and it's very noticeable in my own riding , the way my horses behave and move under saddle . I had a horse with skin cancer and kate was supper supportive though out the entire process till his last day . She was very helpful when he needed bandage changes ect. Kate was there for every vet appointment standing right by me for any support . My horses get turn out everyday , get supplements everyday , blanketed when needed and she takes the fly masks on and off as needed . If I could give her more rating stars I would ! LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BARN

I have been training with Kate Peikert for 2.5 years and I own an off the track TB mare who has a…read morenasty streak a mile wide and I myself am a 'green' rider. Not the best situation. Kate agreed to work with us even though her recommendation was for me to start with a more suitable horse. I just wasn't able to do this and was commited to the mare. Kate has been very patiently working with us. My goal was to compete in Dressage. We have had a few set backs in our training progress but now Kate has a beautiful, what I would call a 'boutique' training facility and we are finally on our way. The barn is a place I go to relax, spend time with my horse, train hard and commune with other dressage enthusiasts. We are now riding/competing in First Level and doing well - scores consistently in the 60s at rated shows. My mare gets top care at Peikert Performance Horses. She gets fed 4 times a day - one of which is a supplement feed that I provide/prepare, her stall which has an outdoor run is cleaned 3-4 times per day, she is blanketed/unblanketed as needed throughout the day and she is turned out 5 times a week. The arena has the best ever footing that is groomed regularly and dust is not allowed. With this year's unusually large amount of rain we haven't missed more than 2/3 days of riding. The main arena with the dressage court dries relatively quickly. The HydroKeep makes this possible - which also keeps footing moist when watered. There is also a field that is set for riding. It has a slight grade, with footing as well that is always dry enough to work in even after a downpour. The near by trials in the preserve are perfect for a training break!
