I'm not sure it's exactly like riding a bike--but Karen made me feel completely at ease from the start. Kiwi, my horse, was incredibly patient and gentle with me. I swear she knew I needed a little extra TLC! It made the whole experience so enjoyable and stress-free. I even got to do a tiny bit of trotting, which was such a fun bonus. This past weekend's horseback riding trip was such a smooth and peaceful experience from start to…read morefinish. The staff was pleasant, welcoming, and made everything easy. Lauren, our trail leader, was amazing--very knowledgeable, attentive, and clearly experienced with both the riders and the horses. My horse was INDIGO. But all the horses were calm and not temperamental at all, which made the ride even more enjoyable and relaxing. I chose the early morning ride, and it was absolutely perfect. I had removed my flannel beforehand and wore only a sleeveless tee, which worked out great as the sun started to come up. Parking was very convenient, and I especially loved that this location is only about 20 minutes from my home in Canyon Springs. The trails through the Santa Ana Riverbed were lovely--peaceful, scenic, and exactly what I was hoping for. I will definitely be doing this again. It was such a better experience and value than driving all the way into the Los Angeles area for a ride. This gave me exactly what I wanted: a serene, beautiful morning on horseback in nature. The training is hands-on, respectful, and rooted in real horsemanship--not shortcuts or quick fixes. It builds a strong foundation and truly teaches you how to work with the horse. She does have horses here that she's rescued and were well trained to be used for horsemanship/riding lessons and my girls are next in line to start their training with her.
