Communication was always quick, simple, and clear, and she was always willing to help whenever I had questions or needed anything. The property is lovely, and everyone at the barn is so welcoming and friendly. Everyone gets along well, and the environment feels peaceful, supportive, and drama-free. They also have roping every Friday, which creates such a fun atmosphere and is amazing to be around. There is also a wonderful trainer at the barn who is knowledgeable and caring. When I had to move my horse, Jen and everyone at the barn were still very kind, thoughtful, and helpful throughout the process. They made sure I had whatever I needed and treated me with so much respect. I still spend time around the barn because that is how welcoming they continue to be. I think of Hawkrest as "horse heaven" since your horse couldn't be more well cared for. Both of my daughters learned to ride here, and I happily board my horse here - even if I had the ability to keep him at my home, I would entrust him to Hawkrest for the top notch care he receives!

She is supremely knowledgeable but knows how to share her knowledge and enthusiasm to young children with warmth and involvement. We met a trained duck, a clever crow, a friendly trained ranch dog and exquisite miniature horses for grooming and a short training demonstration. We expressed all of our concerns and exactly what we were looking for, we were told she'd be in safe hands but they didn't follow through on anything. Lynette also offers to transport horses which is a terrifying experience. She was speeding, swerving, and missing every exit because of her reckless driving. She really is not qualified for transport. She does not handle these horses with care. There is one sand arena and a round pen which Lynette makes sure to take up all day everyday with her own personal horses, making it impossible for boarders to use those facilities. Also their water lines are shot so they explode and then they are out of water for multiple days on end while they have multiple people come by to try and fix it but they don't use professionals so it takes forever and turns out jacked. As far as the boarding: It is a very basic boarding facility. The stalls get cleaned once a day and horses get fed twice daily however they do not abide by any schedule for feeding, it is really whenever they come by and feel like it regardless of what they advertise. There is no fly management in anyway and they don't even attempt to do anything about them. The only fly traps that are there now were left by us. They offer shavings for additional $ but don't require them so the outside stalls get disgusting with pee puddles and the flies just get worse and worse while nothing gets done about the cause. Honestly most things were manageable because my spouse and I do everything ourselves. The real problem is their lack of care and concern for the horses. There were multiple instances in which we should have been notified on the condition of our horse while we were going through a medical issue and instead of notifying us our horse was Ignored. We even went on a scheduled week vacation and we talked to Lynette before about what our horse needed (she was on 3 meds at the time) we put detailed instructions and paid Lynette for extra care and the entire time we were gone they did nothing for her. The first night we were gone Lynette did care for her but only enough to post it on her social medias but the rest of the time was crazy. They didn't medicate as requested, they didn't communicate while we were gone like Lynette said she would, they didn't let us know she wasn't doing so well, they even sprayed her with something she was allergic to KNOWING that we were working with our vet to get her hives managed and when we called Lynette out on it she just gaslit me saying our horse couldn't be allergic to the unapproved fly spray and that we just had a difficult mare. They couldn't even put fly boots on properly and claimed it didn't matter but it does as they are special fly boots and wrong placement could make a horse lame. Honestly all of that was the last straw and as soon as we got back we found a facility that actually followed through with what they said and actually cares for the our horse. The thing is she doesn't just ignore the boarders horses, Lynette ignores her own. We experienced an incident that could have been worked through but they failed to see their own horse until it was too late. Additionally they make you feel crazy for wanting good care for your horse. They will say they are capable of anything but honestly they are not capable of following through. This is just a place to keep your horse. It's affordable I guess but you will end up doing most of the work yourself and the lack of attention can end up being expensive. It's also not a place for any that requires any special care. It's just a stall. Lynette does offer additional training and whatnot but after what I've seen, no way. I'd stay away from this place if I were you.
