The farm is beautifully maintained, and there's something special about breathing in the fresh lavender-scented air while wandering through the fields. There are bees, as to be expected (lol), but that's something to keep in mind. They also offer quality lavender products (like soaps, lotions, and oils) that make perfect gifts or personal treats. These can easily be ordered online as well. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Whether you're stopping by for photos, to shop, or simply to enjoy a peaceful afternoon surrounded by blooming lavender, it's a wonderful experience. For the You-Pick Event, admission is $30 per group (As of 06/30/2025), which includes time on the farm and a tube to fill with lavender, no matter the size of your group. Extra tubes are $10. If you don't want to pick, you can use your admission toward $30 worth of farm-made lavender products. Either way, it's a win-win. If you missed their You-Pick Event, don't worry, they often extend the dates, like they did this year! Lavender typically blooms from mid-June to mid-July, so be sure to check their website. I got a decent amount of lavender, looks like 500 or so stems. The young man inside was a fellow USD alumni always cool run into a fellow Torrero. The lavender is organic, so safe make things with. I moved my stroller near the gate where the ground was smoother while waiting for my friends to buy buckets for us. One staff member came up to me and immediately told me I couldn't go in without a bucket. I politely explained that I was not entering yet, just waiting because the rocky path was very hard for my stroller, and my friends were buying the buckets for me. Instead of explaining the rules kindly, she spoke to us with attitude and embarrassed us in front of everyone. The whole line was looking at us, and it felt very uncomfortable. She was impatient and rude instead of simply explaining the rules nicely to first-time visitors. We didn't know that each person needed their own bucket, and we also didn't know group picking was not allowed. That could have been explained respectfully. Customer service is not just about enforcing rules -- it's also about treating customers with kindness and patience. What disappointed me the most was how her attitude suddenly changed after I told my friend she was not friendly at all. Then she started smiling and acting nicer to the next guests. First-time customers who don't know the rules deserve clear explanations, not embarrassment and attitude.

It was our first time here and we took in the great views, purchased some homegrown honey (small oz for $7) and a small tree for our home (less than five ft cost is $17.50/per foot). The staff was very friendly and Luis made the experience even more memorable! He let my husband and son cut down our tree. Then walked us through their process of shaking the tree and tying it up for easier transportation. It was so magical and now we have a keepsake that brightens our home with that fresh Christmas tree smell. Highly recommend!

I especially appreciated what seemed like local art being used throughout the entire house to tastefully decorate -- without going overboard with clutter. That was well done. But, netting out at almost $800/night increases expectations and so it probably deserves more like 3 or 3-1/2 stars. It was a 3 bedroom home and was ok -- nothing fancy or high-end. So maybe the cost was based on the size? Importantly, what we really believed we were paying extra for that would have been worth the money was the "farm stay" aspect. It may have been a house on a farm property, but it was not a "farm stay experience." The only thing that came close were the animals, but their enclosures were small, cramped, on the side of the road (which was steep and hard to walk on), and the animals did not look healthy or well taken care of. The alpaca's fur was matted up and many of the chickens had bald spots on their backs, potentially due to overcrowding, rooster overbreeding, or aggressively going after each other in such a small space for so many hens (and hopefully not from parasites). It was a side show vs. a real farm experience. Back to the house, another attraction in the listing was the hot tub -- but it had a really horrible smell. The towels we used to dry off with kept the smell too. We used it on the first day, but not afterward. It's a shame. If the hot tub issue were fixed, the property is nice enough, but I do believe it is mis-marketed. It'd probably be very appealing for a bigger group who is visiting the Temecula wine country scene, but who doesn't want to be in the middle of the fray and, instead, wants a quieter location that feels off the beaten path. It should not be marketed as a "farm stay." And the poor animals should definitely go, especially as they feel like such an after thought on the property anyhow.

She is a kind and loving soul who has created a wonderful space for all the animals to roam and coexist. The tour was informative and gives you an up close opportunity to interact with the animals. Upon stepping into the sanctuary, you are greeted by emus, goats and the sweet great pyrenees farm dogs. The animals are as curious about you as you are about them. The goats are very friendly and love to be petted. There seem to always be a sweet goat by my side. There was so much to take in from the ducks cooling off in the creek to the male turkey strutting his feathers to the precious baby geese, which I got to hold one and melted my heart. That moment was truly special. Also, got to hold a baby chick just hours old! What I love most is that while you are there, you forget about the outside world. There is no noise just peace, calm and such nurture for your soul to be amongst these beautiful creatures. Esther is truly passionate about her sanctuary and how lucky are we as guests that we get to step into her world. You will probably need a 2nd or a 3rd visit to truly immerse yourself and be able to take it all in. Lastly, we have recently started buying our eggs from Esther and it was validating to see how happy they are being raised. Also, her eggs are the prettiest and freshest! (Great for gifting!)
