From start to finish, the experience of having 5 windows installed in my walls in my dark home was a pleasure. I know that sounds weird to say but after being scammed by two contractors for two unrelated projects, it was a breath of fresh air to deal with not only an ethical company but one with 5-star customer service. The process started with a consultation with Jeff. After things were agreed upon, a quote was signed through online DocuSign. Then, Jeremy comes out to finalize your window options and a contract is signed through DocuSign. I called the offices to put down 50% with my credit card so I could get cash back points. The lead time for installation was 6-8 weeks. To my surprise and joy, I got a call from Jeff around the 4 or 5th week that a spot opened and I could get my 5 brand new windows sooner. When Jeremy and the crew came out, they cut the dry wall to see if any pipes or wires are behind the dry wall, which would prevent the windows from being installed. All five spots where the 5 windows were going had a pipe or wire running straight through!! Even though Jeremy and Jeff remind you that this is always a possibility, it was still stressful for me as I was thinking of the additional costs, having to find a plumber and electrician and other possible issues from re-routing the pipes and wires. I cannot emphasize how crucial Jeremy was in making everything less stressful. He explained different options, gave his advice, and I learned so much general contracting knowledge from him (which I enjoy learning about). This guy is seriously the definition of calm, cool, and collected. After I got those obstacles taken care of, HWE came a week later and finished the job (by the way, the other staff are just as nice). Jeremy recommended a great contractor to patch up the drywall, paint, cut the trim, and make everything look very pretty. I love my windows and wish I could get 5 more..at least! 16,000 on all new windows and they are not up to code. We've had a covid scare and I went to open my pretty new windows and 5 of the windows have no springs and cannot be opened. I feel I did not get my monies worth. Additionally, the covid precaution video by owner is crap. Guys did not wear masks inside. Well, they had them around their neck. Sales lady wore no mask.. Told us 90% of work done on outside. Crap. Installed from inside. Not happy. Saying might not have springs on hand to correct. They installed knowing had no springs. Did I get my $16,000 worth? We live in a townhome just a block from the seawall in Galveston TX. We decided after purchasing this property that we needed to replace the 7 windows and large glass patio door. We obtained bids from 5 window installers before choosing Houston Window Experts. Jeff came to our home to give us the estimate, we found him to be very knowledgeable in the replacement process and the all products that his company offered. The installation crew was great! I had Houston Window Experts replace a couple of windows a few years ago and they did an outstanding job. We decided to have the rest of our windows replaced. We couldn't imagine using anyone else. The entire process was nothing but professional. No pressure sales. Super friendly and knowledgeable. The crew that installed were great to work with. It seems like they put in a lot of thought in the entire experience for the customer. I wish all contractor companies were this good and professional. Now to the windows. They look incredible. Based on the information I provided they would not be able to help me as I may need a repair and not a replacement but they pointed me in the right direction. After playing telephone tag for a few days, I finally emailed and in their reply, I found out they have a 5-window minimum for projects. I have been searching for window replacements for over 2 weeks now and have spoken to 6 different companys. Jeff is second to last and he is by far not the cheapest, he rolls in with a goat down past his chest, iron cross ring, but clean. I'm thinking slick salesmen with and answer for everything and what he does not know he will be able to deflect enough to confuse you with useless details. I could not be further from the truth. Jeff was knowledgeable on the product, took his time explaining why he thought this window was the best fit for me, he carries many brands. Gave me the reasoning on why I don't need 3 coats on certain windows designed a less cost design on other windows to keep cost down. Gave me a breakdown of each window, removal and installation process and other ways to save money. The best part is that he told me up front he was not going to be the cheap jack on product or installation then backed it up and would do so in writing and the quote reflected it. I don't write many 5 stars and most people will write when something is wrong. But I have to say if you just want to see true salesmen and knowledgeable person work with Houston window experts. I have not decided on going with them just yet but I am finding it difficult to not justify the worth. Will update after we choose a window installation company. I had 5 bids from highest to lowest Gulf Coast windows , Four Seasons , Home Depot, Houston Window Experts and Window world. Jeff show me three windows Simonton,Milgard and Nt. we choose Milgard for the design and they offered lifetime warranty on windows as well as labor , the others were only warranty for windows and they also charged for taking down curtins and blinds Houston Wcindows Experts did not charge for taking down curtins and blinds.. They finished the job in one day had 6 guys one was the certifided installer Jeremy they were on time which is great since since we live in Crosby Texas. At first, I wasn't sure if Window Experts of Houston would be available to install 4 replacement windows in my house because I saw a review on Yelp that said they have a 5-window minimum. So I called to be sure, and they said that this information is not correct (they just get a price break if you order 5 windows or more that can then be passed onto the consumer). They called me back within a day, and then Jeff (the owner) came to our house the next day (in the evening so that both my husband and I could be there) to see what we wanted to have done and make recommendations about which windows he thought would be best. He recommended a Simonton brand window and his bid came in about $800 less than what Home Depot had given us (who we weren't planning to use anyway because of tons of horrible reviews online). Jeff was super nice and didn't pressure us to make a decision right away. We decided to do it and called him the next day (Saturday). He called back that day, we gave him a 50% deposit, and he said that they would order the windows on Monday and it would take approximately 10 days for them to come in. Then they would call us to set up a day and time for installation. They called the following Wednesday and said that the windows were in and offered to come out on Friday (2 days later). The 2 guys who did the installation (Andrew and one other guy) were very professional and did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves better than almost any contractor who has been in our house and took all the old windows away to dispose of them. They managed not to break the tile by the kitchen window which we had been concerned about since we didn't have any extra tile. When they were replacing the blinds on one of the windows, the little plastic hook for the top molding broke off so we were not able to replace the molding (although the blinds themselves are up and working fine) but we ourselves have broken off about 5 of those things already when we have messed with the windows so I do not hold this against them at all. We do have to have the alarm company come out and fix the alarm sensors on the windows but were half expecting that also so it is OK. Another bonus was that Andrew also fixed a door that wasn't working properly (we tipped him $40 extra for this) and also improved another door that also wasn't working properly. I also asked him about some other windows that have been leaking a little bit when it rains hard in the front of the house. At first he thought he could re-caulk them but then said that because they have been recaulked so many times, the old caulk really needs to be removed so that fresh caulk can be applied (otherwise it would not really help). He didn't want to tell me he could fix it and then do something that wouldn't really fix it. He said that they could come back out to do that and that he would talk to Jeff and they would get back to me. They ended up quoting $350 for the work, which we decided to hold off on. Jeff and his team are fantastic. I had multiple companies come out and give estimates, but after meeting Jeff, I knew there was only one company I would choose. While the other companies were pushy and tried to convince me that all of my windows were on the verge of rotting away and needed immediate replacing, Jeff was completely the opposite. He even suggested I not replace the largest window in my home saying it was still in great shape and just needed a few minor repairs (this ended up saving me a ton of money). He also was very willing to work with me and provide multiple options on design, color, etc. He did not push a certain product, like many of the companies do. His installation team, led by Jeremy, did a fantastic job. My windows even came in earlier than anticipated and they installed them in the same week they came in! We heard about Houston Window Experts from our neighbors who had their windows installed by them about a year ago. The owner, Jeff Ludy, came out to the house and sold us on Milgard windows as replacement windows. The warantee was excellent and the quality was very good for the price (we have over 30 windows), His installer, Jeremy came out and measured the windows. It took about 6 weeks for the order to be completed, but we were told about that up front. I made arrangements with their office to start the installation on 11MAY. Jeremy and his team said they would arrive between 8 and 9 AM and pulled up at about 8:10AM. They were friendly, neat and extremely organized. There was no issue that couldn't be resolved. They covered everything before starting on a window. They worked on one section at a time, so it was less disruptive over the two and a half day installation period. One wooden window sill got damaged when the old window was removed. Jeremy bought new wood and repaired it the next day. It's now good as new. They removed all our blinds and window treatments and reinstalled them exactly as they were. Once the job was done, he told me there were 4 screens that needed replacing and two windows had very slight flaws. He spoke to the office manager and the new replacement glass and screens were ordered on the same afternoon. I cannot speak highly enough about this company. They are honest, professional and delivered what they promised. They did a terrific job and the window look great! read more
