Sometimes installing windows can be a pane, but Houston Window Experts makes it easier than expected. I used them twice for different houses, so that alone is a testament of my good experience with this company. On my latest install, they were professional from start to finish, although not perfect in some areas (more on that later). I'll start with the issues, and then close with the positives. On our first house, I encountered some disappointing challenges during the execution/installation phase. Our garden was trampled on, one of the windows were installed on the wrong spot, and a light fixture was damaged and the crew tried (poorly) fixing it without notifying me (all caught on CCTV). With all that said though, the company stands by doing the right thing and resolved everything on a timely manner. How it was handled was much appreciated and influenced me to use them again and refer others. On our second house, almost everything went smoothly. All windows were replaced in just two days! Just encountered a minor hiccup when a wall was damaged and a worker claimed it was pre-existing. Luckily, I purposely took before-photos and was able to provide evidence that it was not pre-existing. In the end, it was fixed within satisfaction. As for the positives, I really have to give credit to Milton, the supervisor on the second house. He was very professional and accommodating. On one of the windows, he found water damage and pointed it out to me instead of trying to cover it up. The damage and source were all fixed. Seriously, he could have moved on and I would have never known! All the windows were installed to my satisfaction. Few minor quirks remained, but possibly due to the window manufacture (or so I was explained). Also appreciate how floors snd countertops are covered to prevent/reduce damage and dust. I recommend this company. Here are some tips before using them (or any other window company): - Take lots of photos of each window before the work starts. Ensure to get several close ups and different angles of the trim and corners, both inside and out. Ensure good lighting for a useful photo. - Check with your HOA to see if it's the window replacements are allowed. Some care about colors of trim and grid vs non-grid. - Expect the order to take several months to come in. Get your quote early if it's a house you plan on moving in. read more

They were constantly cleaning, tented and covered all areas. Pulled permits. Matched and painted all disturbed replacement trims and replaced bad wood where needed. Brickwork needed was outside of the contract but the contractor that they normally use was provided and did an excellent job at a reasonable price. Considering the level of experience and expertise of their crews it was a very good value. I hired Houston Window Experts three years ago to replace all 19 windows in my three-story townhouse. The ordering process went smoothly -- I appreciated being able to choose less sun-protected glass for the north side and stronger sun-block for the south side to save on cost. The problems started during installation. They mixed up several windows between the north and south sides (some have the same dimensions). I caught a few of the mistakes on site; they promised to switch the windows but never did. The lower sashes can be swapped easily, but the upper sections cannot -- despite their claim that the top glass could be switched without removing the frame. Clearly, that never happened. Now I can see that one window has noticeably less sun-block and was swapped with the one by the stairs, which is tempered per code. They also advertise that they remove entire frames carefully rather than breaking the glass, but on the day of installation, every old windows were smashed out. I'm still finding shards of glass in my yard years later -- not great when gardening. Because the new windows were thicker, they had to trim some of the surrounding brick, and that work looks rough and uneven. They did finish replacing all 19 windows in two days, which was fast. But I would have preferred slower, more careful work and correct windows in the right places. Would I hire them again? No. read more

Very disappointed! In 2021 we had every window in our house replaced by Houston Window Experts. A few months ago, I noticed water damage around a few windows after 4 days of rain. Our contractor came out and discovered missing caulking on the outside of one window. After removing the water damaged sheet rock and trim we discovered zero foam insulation around the windows, allowing moisture inside resulting in mold. Brian from Houston Window came out and looked at the damage and agreed to reimburse for the repairs. Due to hosting a party, I could not wait for reimbursement and had my contractor repair and sent the invoice to Brian. He now says that he needs a line item invoice while my contractor only gives lump sum bids. We are now out nearly $5,000! We chose this company for their customer service which has turned into a nightmare. Update: The owner reached out and has reimbursed us for the repairs. I had "builder" single-pane windows that we had covered with solar screens. It did cut down on the electricity, but it made my house look dark inside. Also, I live near an airport and sometimes the noise can be really loud outside. One of my neighbors replaced their windows with double-pane windows and they told me that it cut down on the outside noise. So, my husband and I decided that our Christmas present would be new windows. I've known Jeff Ludy with Houston Window Experts for a few years now and I knew he carried the best window manufacturers in the U.S. So, I went to his showroom and he showed me the Anlin Vinyl Double-pane windows and showed me the beautiful craftsmanship of the windows and all the features of the Anlin Del Mar E series of windows. They sent out Josh Ludy, Jeff's son to come to my house and give me the estimate. Josh was friendly, and informative and answered all our questions. He sent me the contract and we digitally signed it. Then Matt came out to do specific measurements, and documentation and note if any furniture had to be moved, so the installation crew would know what to do. I got so excited that this manufacturing firm was making customized windows for our house. They sent me an email when the windows were delivered and we set up an installation date. I was so impressed with Milton and his crew. There were 10 crew members at my house and they came in knowing exactly what to do. They laid down tarps all over my floors to cover them and plastic all over my furniture to protect them from dust. I was blown away by how organized and fast they were. I made sure to order fajita tacos and drinks for the crew because I found out that they got up at 5 a.m. and met at the warehouse at 6 a.m. and they were at my house by 7:43 a.m. ready to go. After every window was installed they cleaned up immediately with vacuum cleaners and took away all of the old windows and trash. I was so impressed. Milton even pointed out a piece of wood that was rotted underneath one of my windows on the patio and happened to have some wood in his truck and came back and replaced it for us. We just have to paint it. All I can say and that I finally have light back in my house and it's beautiful. I just keep staring at the windows. I can tell already that it's already cut down on the outside noise and I'm looking forward to seeing a reduction in our electric bill. We desperately needed to replace our old windows and sliding glass door. When i say old, i mean old and also, one window was the old ice bricks things. Like blocks of glass somehow put together in the most uneven way. We barely get light into our living so those needed to go. The most amazing thing happened today. A service company came out to give us a quote - Josh Ludy showed up on time, was very informed, professional, and courteous - and then, and I'm not making this up, he RECOMMENDED SOMEONE ELSE. We thought we needed to have four large trapezoidal windows replaced, frames and all, but Josh told me that we really only need to replace the glass. His company doesn't do that so he recommended Apple Glass as a company that does good work and will save us about 50% of the cost of replacing the whole thing. The first two companies we had out for quotes recommended all new windows and frames, not a word about just doing the glass. I'm a little bummed though. With service like that I want to give Josh and company our business, but they gave me a far more cost effective alternative and made exactly $0 on the job. I contacted them and the lady on the phone wanted me to replace 5 windows to get the best deal. I repeated numerous times to her that I didn't have 5 windows to replace. The customer service over the phone was not good and pushy about the 5 windows. Finally I flat out asked if that is their minimum and she said "Yes". That information is not listed anywhere on their website. I would highly recommend not using a company with such pushy sales people trying to get you to do more than you need done. They only have a 5 star reputation because if you write a negative review about them they contest it and get Yelp to toss it out. Even though 5 of our 6 windows were originally ordered the incorrect size, it was quickly fixed without stressing me out at all, and HWE still deserves 5 stars. Every aspect of this company is run well. Gaylon was my sales rep and he was very courteous and professional, without pushing too hard to sell. He had answers to all of my questions. He also explained the manufacturer and installation warranties very well, and I feel confident that if I have an issue with my windows, I can contact HWE and they'll get it resolved quickly. I was replacing six 40-year-old windows. My final cost was about $500 per window, which I found to be reasonable. I got competing bids, one of which was cheaper than HWE, but I went with them because of the quality of windows (Milgard) and the professionalism displayed. In early May, I get a call from Angie that our windows had already arrived and there was an opening for a small job installation on Saturday, May 16, if we were available. This was my birthday, and since I'm a dork, I thought getting the windows installed that day would be a wonderful present! When the installers arrived that morning, they determined that all but one window was measured incorrectly. The owner Jeff calls me and personally apologizes for the mixup and promises to order new windows correctly sized and rush them to be delivered and installed. I wasn't really mad, and it didn't ruin my birthday. Everyone makes mistakes, and as long as it gets remedied to my satisfaction, no harm done. On May 16th, the crew install the one correctly sized window. Unfortunately, one of my other windows had already been ripped out at that point and they had to install an ill fitting window for two weeks. That said, they ran to Home Depot and framed it in, and made it completely functional for that time frame, so again, no harm done. Sure enough, 2 weeks later, Lindsey schedules my second attempt at window installation on another Saturday that worked for my schedule. A new crew comes and more apologies are abound, but they get to work and finish the other 5 windows before 3 pm. They all fit this time and look fantastic! The new windows really breathe new life in to the exterior of our house, and let so much more light in to our home. This is one home improvement that is well worth the cost. It makes the house look years younger, and infinitely more energy efficient. I am so thrilled to be rid of my drafty old 1970's windows! read more

Houston Window experts replaced single pane windows in our home with Double Pane Anlin Windows in December 2023. They did a wonderful job. The crew was very professional and meticulous and finished the job by 3pm. They did everything. Protected the entire interior and even vacuumed the rug at the end. I can't get over how great the windows look. We immediately noticed a difference in blocking the sound from outside and maintaining the temperature inside. The windows look beautiful with a narrow trim. They are are also very easy to operate. The custom 2 story windows fit well and the trim work was superb. I had a large project (87 windows to be replaced) and decided to solicit interest from two local replacement window companies. My wife called Houston Window Experts asking for a salesperson to come to the house and look over the project, as well as, showcase the products her company represents. A couple of days later the saleslady showed up and told us options for consideration. She invited us to her company's showroom to see representative products on display. The saleslady was over-the-top professional, competent and involved in all phases of the project (she was our advocate on the project). We made our choice of window and asked for a bid. As detailed above we asked another company for a bid as well. We also asked for a salesperson from the other company to come to the house that in hindsight proved a mistake. We could not get rid of the guy (high pressure sales type). Comparison of the bids proved Houston Window Experts was less than half of the competing bid! Roughly 30 days later the windows arrived from the manufacturer and the project started. We had 2 crews (all direct employees of Houston Window Experts) working on the project. The work took 3 days to complete. The crews were MOST RESPECTFUL and professional. If my wife requested something be wrapped better work would be halted until everything met with her approval. Fast forward the project is complete and we could not be happier and I am very picky. I found out that it was a combination of issues and replacing the window would help. Scheduled a window install, crew arrived early. They were courteous and covered my floor and furniture. They worked throughout the morning. The new window is so crystal clear you can't even tell I have a window! Left the inside of the house clean. You really get what you pay for.
