Sick plants

The worst business in town. They sell bushes with bacteria. I brought them for exchange and rudely declined the exchange. I started a dispute with my credit card company.

One of our beautiful Persian Shield plants from Houston Garden Center.
Sarah G.

I came to this Houston Garden Center location after another location didn't have the plants we wanted. Upon arriving, I asked a gentleman in the little booth near the exit about the plants I was in search of. (They're called a Persian Shield and they are the most beautiful deep purple color). The man walked me right over to them! They had some in stock!!! Hallelujah! So happy. I ended up getting some colorful flowers for our landscape too. Price wasn't terrible. Only complaint is that literally a week after we bought all these plants, EVERYTHING went on sale for 30% off. Go figure.

4 Swamp milkweeds

They had a bunch of milkweeds for monarch butterflies which was great because those are hard to find. They were cheap too. The staff was also friendly, idk why other reviews complain about customer service

One day of needle loss after a week.
Matthew R.

Do not buy your Christmas tree here. I am very disappointed in the Christmas tree we bought from Houston Garden Centers (specifically the Tomball location). We spent about $200 on a tree and other items. We paid for them to cut the tree and bought their extra life extender and the tree is falling apart after a week. One touch if a branch and nearly all the needles fall off. The ornaments are falling off because the needles can't hold them on. We have only had this tree ONE WEEK. I tried to call multiple times and every time the voicemail was full. Very frustrating.

He placed the order online and then called to confirm the time that I would be at work on Friday for the delivery. My flowers were delivered at 12pm on Saturday - a day after my birthday and on a day that I am not at work. After calling 5 times across multiple days and having all the employees give me the runaround about a manager or owner calling me back, I finally received a phone call from the owner who is a complete jerk and chauvinistic pig. Instead of apologizing and backing his guarantee via his website, his exact words were, "just be happy you got flowers" and "Baby, you're just one of my million customers". If you actually want flowers delivered on the day you ordered...spend your hard earned money elsewhere. The owner does not take responsibility for mistakes and does not care about customer satisfaction. There are WAY too many florists out there who will guarantee a quality product with great customer service. Please support me in not supporting such a lousy business. I've already filed a complaint via the Better Business Bureau and hope to spread the word further.

Great customer service and even better products…read more Are they expensive compared to other places; Yes and No. Sure you can go down to main street and get a bunch of flowers for under $10 but they won't look as good or last as long as the ones from here. They are on par with other florists in the area. Every year we get our Christmas trees and Garland from them. They deliver and the trees and garlands last the entire month of December and look and smell so good. Ordering on the phone and having flowers delivered is a snap. I love that I have a charge account too and just get billed monthly for whatever I end up buying throughout the month. While in the Westheimer location earlier this week I noticed they had a cigar smoking room and drinking room. It looked so awesome and had a huge tv and plush leather couches and chairs. I will be back for a cold one and a stogie soon!

I live further out now, and there are several plant stores and florists in my area, but I still like to venture out to this location! They always offer awesome customer service and are very knowledgeable in what they do. They give me great advice and suggestions, which I really appreciate!

Here and there, I spotted a delicate cherry blossom and a few early blooms, though I wish I had visited at the peak of flower season. The garden itself is exquisitely designed and every corner seems crafted for peace, and I truly enjoyed the calm atmosphere. It felt like a small escape from the city hustle. That said, I did notice the cleanliness was a bit of an issue; the garden could definitely use some extra care to keep it pristine. Another small drawback was the restroom situation. There are only two available, and both were quite busy, so I ended up waiting a while and eventually decided it wasn't worth it. Still, the park draws a lovely crowd with people come to stroll, reflect, and soak in the beauty. If I'm in Houston again at a better time, I'll absolutely return to see the garden in full bloom. It has so much potential, and with a little more attention to detail, it could be a true hidden gem.
