HGC is fraudulent and are real life Grinches! I will NEVER spend another cent there and you shouldn't either! I took down my Christmas tree a week early this year because I was afraid of it catching fire. I have had a fresh tree in my house all of my adult years and my mother had one all of hers. We have never had a tree die so suddenly. I water, feed, and trim accordingly. I saw other posts this year about how trees at HGC were dying within a few days of purchase. They argued that it was from heater use. I call BS!! Now that I've taken my tree down, I can most definitely see that this tree has been sprayed with something to make it look as if it is living. Additionally, when pine needles fall off of the tree, they turn brown--ours are still bright green--EVERY SINGLE ONE!! It should be illegal for businesses to take advantage of people this way. I am absolutely outraged!

The variegated pittisporon I purchased was marked $18.99 and the ad advertised it at $18.99 yet I was being charged $19.99 because it rang up as such. When I pointed this out I was told that the computer price was correct and they could not change it. NOT FAIR! Charge the advertised price!

The person at the register was rude through my questions for items I was asking about and was just unpleasant during checkout!

This place is a joke. They don't take refunds or exchanges if you change your mind. Never shopping here again.

The staff are simply wonderful, genuinely friendly, and extremely helpful. Also, they hand out KOI pellets to those of us who are addicted to them. I have had the privilege and pet the KOI while feeding. It's unlike any other experience you've had. My most recent visit was to pick up some "Dirty Dirt" which is dirt made from food waste compost from the Heights area of Houston. While they're much more expensive, its top quality product and all of my plants thrive living in it. I planted my most recent batch of garden plants, several different types of Certified Organic/Non-GMO potatoes (the plants are sprouting thru the dirt and it's only been a week!). In addition, I got an Orange tree, Swiss Mint, and a few other little goodies for my back yard. The staff answered all of my questions and I went home feeling like I had a true experience. I spent 2.5 hours there, they were very peaceful and happy 2.5 hours. I highly recommend spending some time here.

If you have a koi pond or are thinking of getting one, start here. They had so many in various sizes, an assortment of fish, lillies and other water plants, fountains... and then your regular nursery selection. We bought some stuff for algae control, a water pump, and some faux wood floaters made from cork.

After giving us the golf cart tour, she gave us several flags to place in containers of the trees we liked and then John helped us narrow down and select the perfect sizes for our backyard. We chose three 15-gallon Eagleston Hollies (5-6' planted) because we're DIYers; however, Bownds also offers delivery and planting services. If you've been shocked by the skyrocketing price of trees at the usual locations, then you will be pleasantly surprised at the pocket-friendly pricing Bownds extends to retail customers. Do not expect a large staff or miscellaneous garden center plants, this is a family-run business that specializes in trees and only trees. We will be returning soon for more trees to complete our backyard-to-park makeover.

I just want say if you have pictures on your website and your Coustomers order is based on those pictures, you better make the order exactly like the picture! "Oh, also, it would be 'pretty cool' if you could buy each of them a bouquet of flowers and have them sent to the restaurant so that they're there when the ladies get to their table. Thanks." "I .... what??" On what is arguably THE busiest day for both florists and restaurants alike, you want me to magically pull 3 specially-delivered bouquets and a nice restaurant reservation out of my WHAT?! In desperation, I make my call to Katy Flower Market. I spoke with Darwin, who took all my information and - even though on Valentine's Day they cannot guarantee a time, and I could tell my request was far-fetched and somewhat difficult for them to do on such a busy day - had my roses delivered straight to the restaurant well before their reservation. My boss showed me a picture of the three bouquets, and the flowers were gorgeous - fresh roses that were just barely blooming, so I knew they would last longer than a day or two. I was nervous that, in placing my order so late, that the flowers would be the "leftovers," but these bunches were carefully arranged and quite lovely. In terms of pricing, it is on par with other florists in the area. They have the same styles at comparable prices. No complaints at all with the pricing. I am so impressed (an almost impossible feat with me) with the courtesy of the staff and the extra mile they went to help make my boss' last-minute idea come to fruition. I would absolutely recommend Katy Flower Market to anyone in Houston who is looking for a florist.

Plus once I saw they were dog friendly I was more than happy to add this to my weekend errand list since she could tag along. We were greeted as we walked in and asked if we needed help. We weren't looking super hard for anything in particular but did mention I'd like to find butterfly pea, but it wasnt something they had. Not surprising and didn't affect the overall experience. Jared is who came over and helped us and explained a bit about how they care for their plants and what services they offer. And even took down my number in the case he hears about how to get that plant. Told us they hold events there, so I'll have to look into it! I did really like how they had a dedicated room for indoor plants, not alot of places have that. I ended up getting a peace lily for $10 and shes still looking great 2 weeks later. We were also given a jug of their moon juice which we've just started using for most of our plants, excited to see if it does really help out. I wasnt quite sure if theyd be OK with my dog being brought into the indoor plant area or the office area where you go to pay but they held the door open for her and gave her her space. So it set a really good impression. This place is definitely where I'd go if I had my own property and want working with a blank/empty space. Compared to other nurseries you'll find much bigger plants/trees here.
