Everything was great from the call i made for an appointment to when the job was completed. Shane came out the next day to give an estimate. I had to have stairs completely redone because prior guys work was shoddy and stairs were unsafe. Shane took a look and told me they would have to take out everything and redo. Shane scheduled a date for about 3 weeks to replace carpet upstairs and redo entire stairs. I moved the smaller things in 3 bedrooms. Louis and David moved all the heavy furniture and put it back. Louis and David showed up daily at the appointed time and worked all day, only stopping for lunch. They were both great. They kept me informed of what they were doing and cleaned up each day. They provided great customer service. They took note of details and did an excellent job. I now feel safe walking on my stairs. They even worked Saturday to complete the stairs . They got a day behind because i had to have a sub floor installed. They worked all day Saturday and finished up Monday morning. Shane checked progress of work on a daily basis. The workers are very talented and friendly. Our floors are beautiful but we had agreed on a start date that was pushed up three days early. We were not ready and very stressed. That did not seem to matter. We felt we were not treated as the customer by the owner. If you add anything after the estimate be sure to get a price in writing. read more

We contacted and shopped around with several different companies to have some new floors put into our home. Most of the companies were okay, selection was okay, price as okay but something was missing. On a referral from a friend, my wife and I stopped into Houston Floors and after meeting the owner Shane, we knew that we had the right company to put in our floors. After a short wait, as they were busy with other jobs, Houston Floors showed up on time with several trucks and a group of guys ready to begin work. After making sure how everything was going to be done and all the details were in order, they began the job. I was promised three days to get the job done and as promised, it was completed with some extra clean up and inspection on the fourth day. I can not say enough about how beautiful my floors and baseboards came out. Houston Floors also had many more choices of base boards than any other company and they were all great. The crew doing the work were all friendly, polite and very respectful. Everything that was promised by Shane was done. From moving all the furniture and replacing it to placing pads on the bottom of everything, the crew handled everything and cleaned up after themselves. Had my carpets installed awhile ago and I'm still angry about it. We specifically requested carpet good for kids, ya no on what he suggested... horrible! They left nails on all frames. If you walk wrong spot you will get cut or your sock will get caught and rip. It started rippling only few years after being installed. Get some references before contracting anything with this company. Shane came as a referral, but he had only done vinyl floors, so we were blind to his tile and bathroom remodel work. To summarize, I don't think Shane is ethical and he lies. He also openly complained about other customers he was working with. There are so many details I can share about the nightmare I went through, but I'll share a few. He lied about the size of the bathtub he installed. I had to text him a picture of the tub with a measuring tape, and asked him how he was getting his measurements. He didn't acknowledge the message and just showed up at my house with a new tub that HE picked out. They spilled grout water buckets into my planters. It stained and killed some of the plants, and stained some expensive planters, so I asked him to deduct the cost of my planters from my bill. He also came with a water pressure machine to wash down the mess. He complained that he hadn't done so much work in a long time. They put the wrong grout color on the floor. Until the last day he left my house, he continued to say it was the right grout color. I even went to Floor&Decor where he got the tile, and they have the tile displayed with the grout I selected, and it looks nothing like the grout on my floors. I bought the grout and made some myself and it looks nothing like the grout on the floor. I also asked two other floor contractors to come look at the floors and they agree it's the wrong grout. They gave me quotes and told me how much it'll cost to fix. I'm at a loss. They installed two toilets wrong. They started leaking out the sides, onto the floors, and I had to get a plumber to come and install them correctly. read more

Houston Floors did an incredible job in my home. We had waterproof vinyl installed for our entire downstairs, tile in the entry and powder room along with decorative tile in the powder room. In addition they demolished my ugly fireplace and re-tiled to make it look awesome! Shane is very personable and went out of his way to make our project exactly as we wanted. We had our carpet and tile done by them almost 6 years ago and I am still annoyed by their workmanship. They didn't properly screw down the boards under the carpet upstairs so the floor creek every single day! There is no way they installed the carpet pad we paid for because it's the thinnest pad I have ever felt. When my son was learning to walk a year ago and would fall, he would get hurt from how little padding is under the carpet. The tile has spots where it wasn't leveled out and I still hit my shoe or when barefoot, it hurts if I step on certain corners. Just to really think that you are living with the work done for years to come and here we are almost 6 years later still regretting it. read more
