Since I opened this credit card account with Mathis Home in February of this year, I noticed a recurring charge labeled as a payment card security fee. I previously informed the company at the time of account initiation that I did NOT wish to be enrolled in this fee. Despite this, I am still being charged. I request that all fees related to the payment card security be credited back to my account. They have owed me over $400 for six months now. I need to make four more payments to reach a $ 0.00 balance. I have no complaints about the outstanding sales representatives or their product. Only the accounts department is an issue! As soon as I walked into this amazing store, I was pleasantly pleased. There was so much of beautiful selection. I met George Hamad and he was great. I let him know. I wanted to look at sofa sleepers we needed a sofa sleeper for our guest room and he took us directly over there and he was very easy to work with. I felt very comfortable with him very funny him and my husband got along great and he showed us exactly what we needed and we wound up purchasing a sofa sleeper. Do not waste time or your money. We purchased sectional couches August 2025 by November a section was broken. Put in a claim. Was told the couch was discontinued We had to order part. Took 4 months to get. Mathis says they ordered the wrong one. So they re made the part of the sectional which took another 4 months to install. Now the couch doesn't recline all the way back like the other 2 recliners. Called customer service ( Sara webster). Was told thats the best they could do. We ask to reselect or a refund. Was told no. Delivery service is the worst! Their drivers either cannot tell time or don't know how to use a gps. Initial delivery time was 1-3 pm, then changed it to 4:30 pm, then to 5:45 pm. Delivery driver called saying it will be there in 30 minutes from 5:45 pm. NOPE got there 1 hr later! Bought a $3,000, 5 piece sofa sectional, it's comfy but the clips to the sectional are uneven. The couches have big gaps, the couches came in with smudges and stains. Called a tech to come out, really nice guy but the solution (Mohawk) he used from the manufacturer that came from the company, made it worse, left a yellow stains! Not only that, they forgot a set of legs for one of the sectional. Mathis offered a replacement for the damaged one, and still delivered the replacement one dirty! Now we have to wait again. Where to start with this nightmare store? We have purchased ungodly amounts of furniture from here. My 1 star comes from purchasing a high end mattress under the pretense that it is covered under their 365 mattress protection. Despite our concerns over such a big purchase we were assured if we don't like it they will exchange it. We hated the mattress immediately and called in and were told that the mattress takes a while to come down and for us to give it time. So we did. Now we are coming up to the end of the warranty and the manager, Silvia can not be bothered to stay at work or return calls. The team was absolutely aces at delivering MOST of my pieces exactly within the agreed upon window. There was a bit of a miscommunication on getting some of what I ordered onto the truck to be delivered on the same day, but thanks to Brandi Lee and the dispatch team, we were able to finally get all the pieces together. Bought a matching power couch and recliner in 2023. Got the extended warranty that lasts through 5 years. Have had nothing but problems with the recliner. The switch had to be replaced. A couple months later we had the same problem. The technician that came out told us it wasn't the switch but the motor. It took over eight months for the motor to be delivered. After the new motor was installed, the same problem occurred a few months later. The technician came out and said we needed a new switch. When the technician came out to install the new switch, he told me that it wasn't the switch but the motor. Never installed the switch into the chair but only tested it. Was told he would order a new motor. Never heard anything for a couple of months. Finally called back (GBS) and was told that a new motor was never ordered. Talked to a supervisor about the issue and that a new motor would be ordered. I told the supervisor that the new switch was never installed but only tested. That's when I was told that they couldn't order the motor until the switch was installed. The technician came out and installed the switch. Of course, the chair still didn't work because it was the motor. The technician ordered a motor. A few weeks went by and still didn't hear anything. I called again (GBS) I was told that it would be a few weeks before I would hear anything from them. Received an email stating that the motor is no longer available and that I would be receiving a store credit. This is where it gets dicey. The email stated that I was to be credited $1711.07 yet customer service said I was only entitled to $1588.00. Frustrated I went into the store to find something that would match the existing sofa. Nothing they had would match sufficiently. I asked if they would credit me for the whole set I purchased and I would buy a new set that matches. Nope. Can't do it. Can only replace the recliner that they no longer had parts for. For the time I had the recliner, was only operational 1/4 of the time it was in my home. And yet I had to purchase (store Credit) a recliner that doesn't match my sofa. And I still had to pay for delivery and a new extended warranty. OVER $600.00. Where is the customer service these days? Who is going to refund me the time and effort it took to make the claims and deal with the technicians? The correct solution would have been to credit the set and allow me to purchase a new one. Instead, I have a recliner that doesn't match the sofa and I'm over $600.00 dollars in the hole. Noel Sofa - A Long Overdue Praise We purchased our Noel Sofa back in May 2025, and although this review is a bit delayed--thanks to the usual life and work priorities--it's absolutely deserving of recognition. My wife and I are thrilled with how beautifully it complements our family room. It's stylish, comfortable, and has quickly become a centerpiece in our home. That said, my wife has jokingly banned me from sitting on it to keep it pristine--but I can confirm it's incredibly comfortable! Friends and family who've visited have all complimented its look and color. I'll admit, I'm not the easiest customer--I know what I want when I'm spending my hard-earned money. Avoid Mathis Home at all costs. The Troy sectional we purchased is so uncomfortable to sit on now, the base has no support, sinking after only 2 years, while our 10-year-old Living Spaces sofa is still in great shape. We scheduled a pickup for both pieces so they can "fix it", and they only took one, left a 2ft scrape on our ceiling in the process, then failed to show up for the rescheduled pickup. Customer service is awful, unorganized, and I'm having to call them to follow up constantly since they don't actually call back when they say they will. Mathis has completely lost my trust & wish I could just dump this so I don't have to deal with them and buy elsewhere but the sectional we purchased wasn't cheap & we added the "protection plan" to it too. I called to ask what can I do to exchange them? I went back to store and found smaller chairs, which were less expensive. I went ahead and made the exchange. The restocking fee was almost $300! They made no effort to work with me even though the sixth chair was delivered late. Furthermore, I got tricked into buying a membership for almost $160. Basically, lost almost $500. We are extremely disappointed with the service we have received from Mathis Home. We purchased a mattress costing approximately $7,000 and financed it through Synchrony. Before purchasing, we were told that we would have up to one year to exchange the mattress without a restocking fee and that we would receive credit if we selected a less expensive replacement. When we attempted to use the program because the mattress was uncomfortable, the written terms and response from the store did not match what we were told during the sale. We have made several attempts to resolve the issue, but the local store has not provided a clear solution or meaningfully moved the matter forward. We are repeat customers and expected much better communication and customer service, especially considering the cost of this purchase. We are not asking for anything unreasonable--we simply want Mathis Home to honor the representations made when the mattress was sold or provide a fair exchange resolution in writing. Until this matter is resolved, I would caution customers to obtain every promise in writing before completing a mattress purchase or financing agreement. Every manager is conveniently not available or at home. No return phone calls in 13 days is unacceptable. ItItss been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any company. read more

I visited this store hoping to find a sleep sofa that matched the one I had previously purchased here back in 2020. I knew it might be a long shot, but if it wasn't available, I was ready to invest in a completely new living room set as long as it included a sleep sofa. My original plan was to spend about $1,500-$2,000, but I was prepared to spend between $4,000-$4,500 for a full set if needed. When I walked in, Katie greeted me, and I explained that I wanted to get information about my past purchase first, and quickly that a cashier would be able to help me, which Rebecca was absolutely amazing she went above and beyond to help me locate the original order. I really appreciated that! After that, I asked a sales associate where the sleep sofas were. He pointed to the back of the store and simply said, "All the way in the back." I was surprised he didn't offer to walk with me or guide me, but it's fine. When I got to the back, there was no one around to assist or answer questions, so I took pictures and went back to the front and spoke with Katie again. I explained I had a question, and since no one was available to help earlier, she offered to call someone. I said no thank you, I had mostly figured things out and I will likely order online. However, while I was speaking to her, she continued looking at her laptop not once making eye contact or giving me her full attention. I understand multitasking, but when a customer is standing in front of you, basic courtesy and attentiveness should come first. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. It's December 13, 2024, and Rick from Mathis Bros contacted me via Yelp after I left a review that same day. Prior to this, I had reached out to Mathis Bros numerous times, only to be told that management would call me back either the same day or the next--calls that never came, despite my repeated attempts. I made every effort to give Mathis Bros the opportunity to resolve the issue before posting a review. In fact, I explicitly told them, "Here's your chance to fix this issue before I leave a review." However, after 10 days of waiting with no response from management, I posted a detailed review of my experience on Yelp. Interestingly, that seemed to do the trick, as Rick and the business manager promptly responded to my review on Yelp. While they did refund the Elite Delivery Fee, they never returned my phone calls. It seems this is how Mathis Bros operates--only responding when public reviews force their hand. It's like they're giving me a refund to make me go away. Those 10 days of stress, trying to get someone to address my concerns, were unacceptable. Even with the refund, it doesn't make up for the frustration I endured just to get their attention. I find it unacceptable that a business would respond only after a public complaint. They should address issues promptly and stand by their products and services, not delay for over a week. Honestly, I believe that if I hadn't left the review, I'd still be waiting to hear from them. For this reason, I will never shop at Mathis Bros again. Even though my sales people were awesome and I would buy from them again if they were at a different business, the management here and the people behind the scenes really need to maintain and focus on customer service. Navy blue was beautiful! Custom fabric was about an 8-12 week turnaround. Overall I would recommend & will return for our next furniture purchase. As we browsed the store the salesperson continually followed us as we went to each end of the store and even on the second level. Right upon arrival we made it known that we were just looking around and would let him know if we needed anything. The way this man followed us was extremely annoying. He would hover around anytime we stopped. It literally felt like we were being stalked, it was so uncomfortable. I can't say anything but HORRIBLE things about this company. I ordered a bed that was never on back order after two weeks of no updates, they tell me its back ordered weeks. After waiting over a month for the order it comes and 5 of the pieces required to put the bed together are completely missing and the screws are stripped. I called the company, it takes them a week to get me an answer after calling everyday. Promising me they would provide with updates and they never would, i had to call multiple times. They then provide a replacement that is again on back order and I waited weeks for again. I said "$3400 out the door" He sent a text to his manager asking and his manager Damian o'conner sends back a text with a thumbs up. My sales rep rang me up for $3400, said delivery was this coming Friday. 2 days later (8/3) they call me asking for more money... For such a large business to renege on an AGREED price that I was ALREADY charged with days prior is an absolute joke. If there was a mistake, it should have been handled internally especially for such a low dollar amount discount. They eventually refunded me instead of making it right. On top of that they held $139 for a "membership fee" that I never agreed to. This has led to a massive waste of time (far more of a waste of time than the minuscule "discount" they originally agreed to). We initially had a great experience with our sales representative Gigi, which made the process enjoyable. However, when we decided to cancel our order, the experience became incredibly frustrating. I was transferred four times and spent about 45 minutes on the phone before they were finally able to connect me with a sales manager. It turns out that only a sales rep or manager can process a cancellation, which made the process unnecessarily difficult. Manger did not look into my review or issue. The problem was I had a warranty and upgraded with a new mattress. The new mattress that was delivered was hard as a rock. The sales associate before I purchased it said if we don't like the new mattress we are able to exchange it. When I wanted to exchange it after being delivered for 10 min I was told I couldn't unless I bought a mattress protector from you. Obviously I would've bought the protector had I known this information. Train your employees to provide accurate information so there's no issues like this. Customer service on the day we bought our couch was great. We ordered our couch July 16, and were told it would be a few weeks to get it since it's custom. We got our lazy boy delivered Mid Aug. To our surprise they gave us 2 Left ends. On top of that one of the motorized units didn't work (I checked all the connections) its just not working. After a group of calls and having to call the store, we are told conflicting information about the working piece is going to be picked up not the bad one. The call to the store manager finally we're told that the correct piece is going to be made or has been in the works, but this time will take over 2 1/2 months to get it. Which either tells me: we weren't priority in their system....or the order wasn't placed until after several calls and finally speaking to the store manager on 9/23. Still waiting but at this point we are done. Customer service has not been great to my wife (furniture privacy laws are on par with HIPPA laws apparently), also we have a non working incorrect half of furniture. I get its the wrong piece but not even an offer to fix it in the meantime would've been the bare minimum.
