Last Saturday I went shopping for a bed. I needed a mattress for my spare bedroom to become a guest bedroom. I started at Macy's and then proceeded to JCPenny's. I was looking price wise to pay for a bed that will be used a couple of times throughout the year. I had no luck at the previous two stores. Everything was super expensive and nothing was really on sale. I checked on one of the beds that was on clearance and the quality was very poor. In May 2025 I went shopping for a new bed for me. I started at Sit N Sleep in Montclair CA. I ended my search there. The salesman's name was Rich and he listened to me and what my needs were. I purchased a bed that day. I went back to Sit N Sleep yhis time and I spoke with Danny Ventura, the store manager. He listened to my needs and after trying a few of the beds he suggested, I was able to settle on the perfect choice for a bed. The employees in this store are very knowledgeable and really listen to what the customer's needs are. Danny hooked me up and I couldn't be happier! This will be my go to store whenever I need a bed again. So if you're in the market I suggest wholeheartedly that you try this store on Central Ave. in Montclair. 2/1/26 Thanks to Teddy, I ended up FINALLY buying the pillow I've been NEEDING. "the perfect place to rest your melon", by Honeydew Sleep Company. It's $129- now I can rest a little easier/better. We went in to buy a mattress & we narrowed it down to the infinity (Sit n Sleep brand) King split, adjustable, After visiting so many stores, it looks like we are going to decide on this one thanks to the helpfulness ofTeddy. Delivery is $200 but we'll pick it up, luckily we have a truck. They can have ready by this Thursday (Feb. 5th)for us to pick up. Other places like Living Spaces quoted 2 weeks- That's cutting it close for us. It's a world of a difference when the salesman is very courteous & forthcoming, we greatly appreciate it. They a great selection of mattresses & service is mindful. Parking is shared with other shops in the plaza but this weekend, it's no problem. It's the best time to purchase because it's Presidents' Day sale. We've been to a slew of places (Mattress Firm, Costco,, Living Places, Macys, Bob's) and so far this store sold us. We were in a hurry for another event so Hubby will return to settle or seal the deal. 2/5/26 ***** UPDATE: My husband came back the next day & sealed the deal, our mattress of choice was delivered a last Tuesday (2/3/26) & the delivery guys were great! Helped my husband set up. They were courteous, helpful & outstanding. So far my husband is loving the adjustable & comfortable aspect of the bed (even without the sheets hahaha). NEVER BUY FROM SIT N SLEEP!!!! This is about the delivery and not the actual a location. I understand it may affect their rating but I think people need to know about their delivery service and how bad it is Ordered a bed from this location, had it delivered to my house(just a mattress). When it was delivered they were forcing it up stairs, ZERO PLANNING, and they ended up cracking the crown molding on my stairs( see photo). The worker told me it was because "my stairs are narrow", and I told him that why I hired "professionals" to deliver it. He then said "I know a guy" and he'll have him come back and fix the stairs, as he was trying to leave and drive away! I had to stop him and ask for his information, business card, phone number; SOMETHING! He took that as me being "difficult". I asked him, "is this person you know licensed?" And he kept saying "I got it don't worry I know a good guy". I didn't want some random guy, that may or may not be licensed to come into my house and work on the damage if I wasn't sure they could fix it correctly. When I left I called customer service and they kept giving me the runaround telling me that I had to go through them to get it fixed. I finally got in touch with their manager and she instructed me that this happens often and that usually the delivery company will be the ones to fix it.! I just can't believe a company as big as city doesn't have a claims department or some formal way to file a damage claim. So now I have to let some random guy bring another random guy into my house to fix the stairs, which I don't feel as fair! I ONLY WRITE THIS OUT FOR ANYONE THAT IS LOOKING TO GET DELIVERY THROUGH CITY AND SLEEP. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ALL OF THEIR VENDORS OR THIRD-PARTY AND ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR HOUSE. SIT AND SLEEP WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF ON THEIR END. YOU WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE THIRD-PARTY, WHICH DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A CLAIM CENTER AND TRIES TO SEND RANDOM PEOPLE TO YOUR HOUSE TO FIX WHAT THEY BROKE. read more

The service we received was A1. Rich Pinnix was a delight to work with. He didn't push us into buying something we didn't need. He explained all the great and not so great with all the mattresses we tried out. We did do allot of our own research,but in the end it was nice to have someone who knows the products. This is the 3rd time we had purchased our mattress at this particular location. RICH is the MAN. We told him on what he want, tried out several beds to finally reached a decision. He was patient, funny and at the same time he showed compassion and carefully listened on what we needed (not just to SELL). We also looked into purchasing a bedroom set however that didn't pan out due to my husband's condition, plus this pandemic, COVID that we cannot find anyone who would take our old bedroom furniture and Rich totally understood. I had a great experience today at Sit n Sleep. Dave, who greeted me upon entering, was very warm and welcoming. I felt comfortable with him since the moment I walked in the store. Dave was extremely patient with me as I described my back issues and what kind of bed I did not want. Dave had a few suggestions for me, and he took his time explaining each and every one of the mattresses. He is knowledgeable on every mattress and answered all of my questions with ease. I did not feel like he was trying to "sell" me, like most salespeople do. I ended up getting a Tenpur-pedic, the Luxe Adapt mattress, and I left the store feeling very satisfied with my decision. I never got a call back from a manager. The customer service women that I spoke with were courteous. They told me they would forward my request to upper management. This review is for Kent & the store (don't worry it's great)! I called with a million questions about buying a bed frame and he had plenty of answers, he told us to come into the store... Which when when we first came into the store he took our temps and we sanitized our hands. He asked generalized covid questions, which made us feel assured the store was safe. While looking for a bed frame he did not try to push a sale on us but helped us with our needs on the type of head board we have. He Even showed us the sheets to go with our new bed. I would never think to go to a mattress store for a bed frame, but during covid times are hard to find good service and quality. Service is horrible! I would not recommend doing business with these guys. I called and dropped a $4,000.00 order in the salesman's lap over the phone, paid by credit card in advance, and asked that they pick up my old mattress and bed frame. The sales guy said yes, it's one to one, we'll pick up what you are replacing. When my order was delivered, the delivery guy copped an attitude because he didn't want to take the old frame. First he said it wasn't the same kind of frame. BIG FRIGGEN DEAL!!! Then I had him call the dispatcher while I called Sit N Sleep to tell my sales guy (Kent) what was going on. The dispatcher for the delivery people told me the truck was full and they didn't have room. THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM! They wanted to leave it, nails and screws and all, in my bathroom all over the floor. I asked them to take it outside at least. Sit N Sleep called me back and booked a pick up for 2 days later. Then it rained. When the driver came back, he said "oh no......it's wet!" and proceeded to tell me I should have the city haul it away. He called his office like the last guy did, and left saying he couldn't help me. I will not be doing business with Sit N Sleep in Clairmont , CA anymore, or any location for that matter. I have purchased 4 beds from them in the last 15 years, but no more. I strongly recommend you find a more customer oriented company to deal with. These people don't give a crap about anyone. They are not interested in pleasing the customer and the drivers and delivery people they contract with are even worse. They told me to call them back when it's dry. That sounds like a company that has forgotten where their bread is buttered. UPDATE: Within one hour of posting this review I got a call from a lady named Narda in Sit N Sleep's Customer Service Department. She quickly addressed the issue and rectified it. This more like what I am used to with Sit N Sleep. I want to express my gratitude to Narda. When you get there ask for Kent. He helped us through the whole process. When my wife and I entered the building we had no intention of buying anything, just as we did in the 3 businesses we entered before Sit n sleep. We were remodeling our home and didn't need a bed for at least another month. However, Kent first wanted to know about us and our sleeping habits not our budget. He measured us on a machine designed to find our own individual pressure points that are pertinent to good sleep individually. None of the other stores asked us to do that. It was the first thing he asked us to do. I didn't know what my pressure points were. So I learned something about myself in the process and the process hadn't even begun. This gave my wife and I an idea of what type of bed to look for. So we did while Kent helped other customers in the store. No pressure to buy. Once we found what we were looking for we looked at price, availability and our options. In the process Kent showed us the current company specials available on better quality products with better pricing. We needed 2 beds total. One for our guest bedroom and one for our own bedroom. In the end, we bought an upgraded floor model for the guest bedroom and the price went down 1,000 from what we thought we could afford new. So we did. Then we bought an upgraded master bedroom mattress from the one we were looking at because it was delivered to a home on one day and returned two days later and we received a 50% savings on that mattress because it went out and came back. So we bought that. All of these options were presented to us by Kent or we would not have known about them. Since we were remodeling our home and didn't need a bed for at least another month or so, we needed sit n sleep to store them until we were done remodeling and that was no problem and no additional cost. Lastly, the date we established for delivery was next Saturday and the remodel finished early with the new carpet is being installed tomorrow. So I called Kent and asked him if we could push up the date of delivery. He said how about Sunday. I said you deliver on Sunday. He said yes we do and we can do it this weekend. I said great. How can I thank you. He said you can help me spread the word by filling out a yelp form. So here we are. To Kent: Your the Man! To Sit n Sleep: You are NOT killing me Larry! read more

Mattress delivered with two friendly hands that did a perfect setup & was nice enough to take their shoes off while entering into the house with new carpet.
