I needed a diagnosis of a noise that I had coming from my car. Dave the owner took me in promptly at the time of my appointment and seemed to know exactly what the problem was after my brief explanation to him. After the diagnosis I offered to give him the work if he wanted to take it knowing that I could do it myself. He did not push me either way but knowing how busy and backed up he already was I opted to replace the part myself. Dave refused the $ that I offered him for his time. I eventually returned with a gift card. I also have to add that just before he drove my car into his garage to lift it he had a short notice request from a gas customer to remedy some loose fender trim. Sure enough Dave proceeded to grab his screw gun to fix the issue in about 2 minutes. I recently sent my brother in law over for what turned out to be a quick fix for his van. He again refused compensation. This family business is a valuable asset to us all through their knowledge and honesty. They also is smart enough to know that knowledge, honesty, and integrity pays dividends in loyalty... This is a great small hometown family owned business. Dad owns the shop and his son and daughter work there as well. Great service, fair and reasonable pricing and do the work that is needed without selling you things you don't. By the repeat customers walking in and out during my wait, you can tell that people like to come here to get their car serviced. If you're looking for a service station run by honest people, this is the place to go. I went on a recommendation of friends and family members and I'll tell you what - I'll definitely be back! My car was having brake issues at high speeds and I stopped by to have them check it out. Tim hopped in the car with me so that he could experience exactly what I was trying to describe. He immediately knew what the problem was and was able to have new brake pads ordered and on my car within 24 hours. In addition, this is the first time I've ever had someone teach me something about how my car worked. Tim took the time to explain to me how brakes function and why they had begun to fail. Passing cross country thru Lockport in a 23' RV, my driver side power window started to sound like it had gravel in it's gears. Knowing full well that it would fail in the down position on some rainy Saturday night in the middle of Nowhere I was anxious to get it fixed. Calling the closest Ford dealer near Buffalo, I was told I could make a reservation for the first week in Sep. (4 weeks away). Asking friends who live in Lockport, I was told Housel's Service does excellent work. I drove in, and had the owner Dave, confirm what I needed and order the part immediately. The part was there the next morning by 9a. Knowing that we were traveling cross country Dave elected to install the part himself. An hour and 20 minutes later we were on our way. His lot is not the biggest, but what they lack in size they makeup for in service. read more

I started using Housel's about 3 years ago for my 10 year old European car as they came highly recommended by a number of people. They now look after all the extended family's cars (domestic and foreign). I cannot recommend them highly enough. Hard working, honest and great to deal with. They always take the time to explain whatever the issue is and never try to take advantage. I have had issues ranging from the almost catastrophic to the mundane and they have dealt with them all with professionalism, backed up by friendly service. If it were possible I'd give them 10 stars across the board. My family has been going to Housel's for years and they have always been honest, knowledgeable and super helpful! They got as much life as possible out of my old '96 Ford Contour in college and take good care of my '04 Toyota Highlander. I've since moved out of Lockport but still drive 30 min to them for regular service. Dave, Tim, Rachel, and the rest of the crew are the best I've found for car repair. I got started with them about 20 years ago on a recommendation from another satisfied customer. I'm an experienced engineer, I love fixing mechanical things, and I've got two cars now, a '99 with 180,000 miles on it, and an '09 with 80.000 miles. I go to Dave and Tim because they truly understand how your car should work and will only do what's needed to make it run right. If a problem is tricky or possibly from more than one source, they will tell you. They don't fake it. That's why I go there- they fix the real problem and don't waste your time practicing at your expense.
