Have used their services to remove small 'dings' and scratches on my cars. Excellent service. Friendly staff, very reasonable charges n above all a superb job always. They have a paint booth too. These guys were such a help! I always dread looking for an auto repair place. I worry I'm going to get taken for a ride every time. Forest was convenient for me and had some good reviews so I rolled the dice.When dropping off my car in the morning, I stopped nearby for a cup of coffee on my way to work. I chatted with the person working there about Forest and mentioned that she takes their car there was well and they're a group of reliable and honest guys.This was a big load off! I had an oil small in my car that I assumed was going to be a several hundred dollar job. Turns out when I had my oil changed at a place that rhymes with Shminekie it was overfilled so oil spilled and stunk up my car. I brought it in anticipating an expensive job and many other places would have done uneccessary work just to run up the bill. The guys called me and explained exactly what was going on and that it would only cost 70 to fix. When I got there to pick it up they showed me exactly what they did and what to expect. I've tried a handful of auto mechanics in Buffalo, but this is the first that has made me feel genuinely cared about. The team at Forest Auto is such an honest group and knowledgeable group. They're always able to schedule my car and work with my availability. I use them for anything from a weird noise to changing my snow tires out to inspections or whatever comes up on my Subaru or my Honda. I used to have an older Mazda that they kept running far past it's prime too. If you want a mechanic who will explain an issue to you in a way that's easy to understand, and someone who genuinely wants to keep you and your car safe, go to Forest! Forest Automative is an interesting place. I walked in and there were poems written on the board. I don't exactly think of car mechanics as artists and people who enjoy poetry, but my assumption was wrong. No gruff dudes here smoking cigarettes waiting for a poor fool to come in with an awkward sounding brake pad to take advantage of. There are honest people working here who will be up front with you and take care of your car. I've been here twice. The first time, I had a problem with my AC clutch. I left my car overnight and they weren't able to pinpoint the exact problem. They thought something else may have been the problem. So when they replaced my tension belt (which I believe is what they thought the problem was) and it wasn't fixed, they called me and told me and didn't charge me anything. Last week, I came in here for an oil change. I should have inquired how much it would cost beforehand, since after I was presented with the bill it was $40. I asked them why it's so expensive compared to other places and Jonas explained that a lot of other mechanics will try to sell you things you don't need and "find problems" with your car during an oil change. They use it as a prey tactic to get customers. Since they don't do that, they just charge for the labor and it turns out to be about $40. I was satisfied with that explanation and believe them. This is an honest garage. You won't be able to get the cheapest prices here, but working with the people who own it is usually a pretty pleasant experience. Recommended. read more

I've been recommended by this mechanic for over a year but I always forget to go! So glad I went yesterday because the quality of work matches the price. I got new brakes and rotors as well as a new caliper and I noticed the little details done to my car (scraping rust off my other three calipers and rotors) as well as explaining the process and treating me like a person instead of talking over me. All of the men (I worked with Brian but I know Jonah is great too) are kind,courteous and fair. Please if you're in the city I suggest you give them a shot. read more

Amazing experience! I haven't had too bad of a time with mechanics, but after coming back from being out of the state for 9 months, I needed to get an inspection. The first place I went was vague on what I needed an told me it would cost $1,200. I came to Forest Auto for a quote on the part to see if they would be able to do it cheaper. At first it seemed like they could, but when they got it up and looked at my car, they told me that my car was in great shape and I shouldn't have failed the inspection. The redid the inspection and got me out of there in no time. Went from thinking I was going to have to pay $1,200 to only $21. I have been living in Buffalo for 3 years now but so far, it has always worked out that I was able to get any repairs done by my hometown mechanic in Toronto. Last week my car started making an awful scraping noise whenever I put it into reverse, which required immediate attention. As a female, it's very difficult to find a shop that is honest and won't try to rip you off. After reading Yelp & Google reviews for several shops, I decided to give Forest Automotive a shot since it is walking distance from my house. They were quite booked up when I brought it in and told me that they wouldn't be able to look at it until the next morning, which was fine with me. They called me the next morning and told me exactly what was wrong with it and fixed the immediate problem. They also gave me a quote to replace my parking brake (which was the root of the problem), but informed me that it was not necessary to fix it right away if it did not bother me. I was very grateful for this as I did not have another $300 to shell out right away. Overall, the cost of labor and an oil change came up to $86! I couldn't be more pleased. First time taking my car into shop yesterday - it is in a really convenient spot, within walking distance to my apartment. Brian and Jonah helped me, and they were great. I called ahead to see about the schedule in getting my car taken care in time for a weekend camping trip. Their phone manners are lively and they are patient and they listen. I needed an inspection and an oil change, however the check engine light was on, so that may have caused an issue passing the inspection. Within 90 mins of dropping my car off, i received a phone call letting me know the car is ready and how they can proceed with the check engine issue. we arranged to deal with it the following week so i can safely get my vehicle on the road for the camping trip! When you drop your car off, they offer to text you OR call you, which is nice. the garage and office space is open and clean and, honestly, pretty groovy. clean batroom, and a bumpin stereo going. i know i want my mechanic to be having fun and jammin out when he/she is workin on my car. car is running well and i am super happy with this place! 5 stars all the way read more

I am so glad I called Forest Auto. My Audi dealership told me that the wheel bearing is loose and it's not safe to drive around anymore. Soon after I dropped off my car with Forest Auto for the wheel bearing job, Brian from Forest Auto called me and told me that there is nothing wrong with my wheel bearing...yes, it's loud, but it is simply just an annoyance not an issue. He told me that in all honesty, it will need to be replaced eventually but not right now. I decided to go ahead with the job anyway. I received a reasonable bill and great service. I went in today because my car was making a loud sound when I drove and I wasn't sure if it was just my busted front fender or something serious. The mechanic at Forest Automotive looked under my car, quickly removed a piece of the fender that had been scraping against the wheel, and told me that if I didn't hear the sound anymore, I was all set. No charge, no attempt to push me into expensive work, just a quick fix for my problem. Needless to say, they have my future business. read more

Even though my car passed inspection, they still took the time to look at some potential problems and suggested further work, BUT most importantly, they didn't do anything without my permission.
