Went here to have my practically new tire fixed. I was told it had a nail in it. They patched it and I went on my way. A couple days later, the tire went flat as I was driving. Had it towed to the nearest Mavis (Williamsville) where they patched the tire again for free. A couple days later, it was low on air. I was in Buffalo and went to the Mavis on Delaware Avenue. They said the patch had been done from the outside and should have been done from the inside. They showed me the tire was shredded inside and said I was lucky it didn't blow. Then they sold me another tire. I'm so pissed off. I hate having 3 of one tire and 1 of another, not to mention all my time wasted being stuck on the side of the road! read more

Took my car in to get tires put on, and was offered an alignment. Unfortunately they screwed up my alignment pretty bad, causing steering issues and dodgy handling. and thus, had to take it elsewhere. Was also quoted an outrageous amount for a whole brake-job. Even though both my discs and calipers had been replaced earlier in the year. Had gone to another shop to get a second opinion and was told my breaks were totally fine and still had plenty of life left. Waiting times aren't dependable either. Paul assisted me today with a slow leak in one of my tires. They were able to locate a small screw and patch the tire. They then rotated my tires. Paul was very organized and handled all customers in a very professional manner. This was my first visit to Mavis but I will definitely return for all my auto needs and I will be telling my friends and neighbors too. read more

When I drop my car off I was told it will cost $299 for pads and rotors they call me an hour later want to charge $169 for caliper's .....we're any other store one caliber is $70.... And they only replace one My total charge was $448 read more

I Took my vehicle in there just to have the tires rotated since I bought my tires there and I have a newer vehicle The guy comes back out after tells me I need new inner tie rod's and outer tie rod's along with new ball joints and struts. he hands me a quote for $702 so I obviously I went and got a second opinion from a reputable company in town and they said one bolt was loosend on the one tire rod which was not before I brought in l. I purchased 4 new tires, an alignment, inspection and an oil change approximately 2 months ago from this store. They sent me home with 3 tires at 20 lbs and the fourth at 48. They broke the plastic oil pan cover below the plug, tires were balanced incorrectly and the alignment was done dramatically incorrect. So far the inspection still works. My phone call to Lockport Mavis to address these issues was met with a disconcerned " oh well "attitude from the woman that I spoke to. I called the head office whom directed me to Tony Piazza, the district manager I believe. I told him what happened and that I did not want anyone from Mavis to touch my car again. He agreed to reimburse me to have another shop fix everything correctly. Although seeming put out and aggravated I was bothering him I assumed he would keep his word. WRONG ! I sent him a copy of the invoice of work done and a copy of the oil pan cover part price. Total of around $160 for everything. Great price for what they had to fix btw. 2 months later NO reimbursement and NO communication. Ive reported this to the NYS AG. I will obviously spend they extra money to go somewhere that has integrity and that won't send a customer away unsafe in their vehicle. Very disappointed. I never even got anything remotely near to an apology come to think of it. Great job ! read more

Giving this place one star is already too much. I came in to fix 2 leaky tires. That would still hold air just fine. After the repair, the next day one of my tires was flat. When I told josh (manager) that I'm stuck on the hwy, he promised to call me back. Almost two hours go by, it's february. Heavy snow, and still no call back. When I finally called him back, he tells me he was at a meeting. He then told me he can't do anything about it. I had to call the main number to at least get some money back. Even though I lost a lot more having my truck and trailer towed. What's even funnier is that when I was getting my tires fixed, an angry customer rushed in to say that they scratched his windshield after they told him he needs new wipers. This dik head josh just walks out on the customer while he was talking. These people seriously do not give 2 sh*ts about your problems. read more

My issue started when I left a negative review on Yelp with Mavis Discount Tire. My review read, "Is there an option for negative stars? I checked all of the prices/competitors last May, and I thought I was getting a great deal! I paid a little over $400 for all "brand new tires." I have barely put 5,100 miles on the tires and my car started acting up. Thee front tires were completely bald. I brought it to a tire company when I moved to MA who informed me that Mavis put TWO (I somehow typed three, it was my mistake there were two and they were the front) DIFFERENT SIZE TIRES ON MY CAR CAUSING IT TO BE UNBALANCED. On top of this, the tires were used and ending up rotting my tie-rod. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. I wasted over $400 for incompetent "mechanics" to screw my car up. You are better off going to Walmart." I got a reply from Jenna S. of Mavis Discount Tire first stating that she is delighted I had such a wonderful experience. He did call me that day, but I was unable to answer due to being at work. He left me a voicemail stating that he would call me the following Monday (he called on a Friday). I waited around because I thought the manager would be true to his word. No call. I emailed him. No response. I wrote to customer service. I got a reply. I replied back--four or five times and have yet to hear back from them. I offered a settlement instead of a law suit. I asked for someone to contact me. I called customer service twice and got hung up on. My second review on Yelp stated, "Still a negative 20 stars. I followed up with the manager calling me. Since I work odd hours I couldn't answer. He said he would follow up with me the following Monday (3/9/15). It is now 3/18/15. No follow up, and no offer to reimburse me for the damages. I might have to take them to small claims court. I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau. They try to get bring the positive reviews to the top in order to cancel out the true unpaid reviews." I called customer service and got an automatic message saying, "You've reached Customer Service. Please hold. Someone will be right with you." Then it hung up. Three times this has happened. I have not been contacted. I have been avoided. I want the reimbursement I deserve. I don't want somebody to tell me to call there again or email them again because they ignore you. read more

They are the absolute worst! Liars and cheaters! I brought my vehicle to Mavis for a simple alignment. 30 minutes after dropping it off, they informed me I needed new tie rods, ball joints, and wheel bearing replacement. I was quoted $350 for all of that to be done at that time. I declined because I was going out of town for several weeks and figured I'd hold off since the vehicle would just be sitting in my driveway for a long period of time. Almost a month later, I brought my vehicle back to them, dropped it off, and got that phone call 30 minutes later. Same diagnosis, only this time, it was $680, haha. I am fortunate enough to know my way around vehicles pretty well. I just brought it in to them out of laziness. I pulled everything apart and replaced, both tie rods and a wheel bearing on the passenger side like they described. My vehicle continued to have some serious steering issues afterwards. I decided to pull the driver's side apart (mavis never mentioned an issue with) and discovered bad tie rods there. I replaced those as well, and my vehicle is riding perfectly fine now. For less than half the price they quoted me for a false diagnosis, I was able to repair the vehicle myslef, parts and tools included. They are your typical shop. Price gougers and liars. They told me some stupid lie to get me to bite. THEY ARE THE WORST! YELP MADE ME SELECT AT LEAST ONE STAR. IF I COULD, I WOULD HAVE SELECTED A TURD! read more

I am so glad I checked prices when I bought tires in late fall of 2012. Cole/Mavis listened to my concerned, took their time explianing the differnces. They could have sold me much more expensive tires, but they are honest here.Got all four for a very good price. Now I make sure I go get my oil changed there, and they let me know what condition my undercarriage is in. They even said what great shape it is. No selling me stuff I don't need. They break their legal contract and then you call to speak to a representative and they interrupt you, down talk you, and they make you an offer to promise that you will never speak about the situation again. Stopped at the Lockport, NY Mavis Tire Store and talked to the Manager there to get a quote for replacing my original Chrysler shock absorbers with 4 Gabriel nitrogen gas charged shock absorbers for my 1987 Chrysler Fifth Avenue. I was quoted $324 (tax included) for 4 Gabriel nitrogen gas charged shocks installed. Bought 4 Gabriel nitrogen gas charged shocks online at Rock Auto for $56 including the shipping. Took the shocks to my mechanic and he installed them for $50 plus $4 tax. Saved $214 by not dealing with Mavis Tire. Do not deal with Mavis tire in Lockport, NY. read more

At all times, prices were very reasonable, and stated before work was started. Suggested less costly repairs if available. I took my truck in for what i thought was a ball joint sweeking . Because i have heard same noise before and did actually turned out to be ball joint ... ok was told i need inner and outer tie rod and idler arm on passenger side... ok after waiting in store for 4 and half hours .. truck was finished with alignment and i paid and was out the door ... ok i noticed on my way that truck was pulling to the right really bad . Turned around and went right back . Ok so i was asked when i could bring it back to be checked duh im here now and it needs to be fixed now . Im not going to wear my new tires that i paid 1000 for that i actually got from mavis ..... ok so truck was pulled in and 15min latet truck was ready . Tech said oh well it was off 20 degrees.. ok so i went home .. next day had to make an early run 30 miles away and everytime i hit a bump the truck would shake and pull right .. ok so i took it back and by now im furious.. Ok truck went back to be checked and now i have a bad steering shock .. tech said they should of caught that the first time and especially doing the alignment.. so told them to replace it and more money and im out the door again .... Ok now my steering sits at 1 oclock instead of being straight... truck still pulling to right ..... im so mad . My truck is worse then when i brought it in for just a sweeking noise ... you just lost a good customer and all my friends... but guess mavis doesnt give a crap .... I will never go back to mavis . Im out over 400 bucks and a truck worse then before ... I will take it somewhere else and mavis robbed my for over 400 bucks .... may take take this into legal action after i take it and get repaired and find out mavis screwed me....... read more

OMG, these idiot almost got me. I had my car checked out because it was making some rattling underneath. The first service tech tells me that it is just a loose heat shield. I was relieved and thought that I was in an honest garage, so I told them to go ahead and do my annual inspection. This was a big mistake. The second service tech tells me that I have a bad wheel bearing on the driver's side (strange because it is usually the passenger side that fails first). I tell him to put the tire back on and I can't feel anything shaking bad. The manager comes out and tells me that he can feel it. I tried again and felt nothing wrong. The price estimate was almost $450. I then tell the manager to put the other tires back on so that I can leave. I took the car to another garage up the road where two service techs tell me that the wear is very slight and passes inspection. Plenty of miles left on this part. read more
