The service was fine. The food was what was the problem. Not only did I receive the wrong croissant that I wanted, but I also had to remind the girl who was making my food to put it in the bag. The food is subpar only go here if you want coffee or a light pastry, I had gotten a breakfast sandwich which was already outrageous at 7 dollars but put the sub charge of 2 dollars for turkey sausage as well as 3.50 for a bagel. so in total for one sandwich, it would've been 12.50 for a sandwich not even made with fresh eggs, but egg beaters. After the fact, I called to understand why I did not get the pistachio croissant that I wanted but a regular almond one and they did not pick up the phone not once not twice but three times. As I suggested previously if you want a basic coffee/ dessert, go here, but be careful because the quality does not match the quantity of money that they are charging you for. read more

Ahhh this place was so good!!! I had a matcha latte with vanilla sweet cream and cinnamon on top. I never had that combo and it was delicious. Don't get me started on the cruffin it was delicious!!!' So creamy, it was raspberry lemon flavor, they get different flavors everyday and it's from another local bakery around. The cruffin itself was so perfect such a great creation. It's about 5-6 bucks. I had gotten two drinks and two cruffins and paid about $20 so it wasn't out of average prices nowadays. I loved this spot! Definitely will return if in the area read more

I like the atmosphere but the last time I was there I ordered a bacon egg and cheese that was questionable. The eggs that were used were a soufflé that had a very hard texture, seemed old and had no flavor. I didn't even take a bite as it smelled really off so I returned it to the counter and no refund or exchange for something else was offered. So I'm out $8.50. I will not be returning. read more

Just don't ask for a pourover, chemex or a French press all of which are available at any coffee shop upstate. I would usually give this place 5 stars until this specific experience. Me and my husband came in about 20 minutes before closing because we will be out of country for 6 months and we wanted our last fix. I feel that because we came in so late we weren't greeted very well. I also feel that the barista purposely made our coffees flavorless and bland. I ordered the "teddy graham" ( iced coffee with cinnamon flavor and honey cold foam.) My husband ordered the same, it tasted like milk and watered down coffee. No flavor at all. The most flavorful part of this coffee was the graham crackers and that says something. I am now going to DUNKIN DONUTS just to get a coffee with flavor. First time I have had to just throw away my entire coffee. What a waste. Would not recommend going in around closing time because this is the worst service/ product I have been provided here. Roasted: found House of Coffi while visiting the state capitol in Dover. Cute coffee shop with nice indoor and outdoor seating. Decent selection of flavors and a good selection of breakfast items. Baristas were friendly enough and were doing a good job not letting the inside get over capacity. Unfortunately the latte is not good. The espresso is burnt which is possibly due to the barista pulling the espresso first and letting it sit while she steamed the milk but overall couldn't drink the latte at all. Luckily the bagel was good here. Unroasted: driving by historic downtown Dover we came up to this really cool looking coffee shop that had lots of traffic coming in and out. Walking in to the coffee shop it's a really nice old home converted to a shop. The staff was busy and somewhat friendly. Ordered our usual and they had sugar free flavors which is a plus. Once I sat down and tasted the latte I was greatly disappointed. This had so much potential but the flavor was just not good. I would not visit again based on the terrible taste profile. read more

Checked this little shop out after I saw Nicole share about it on Instagram. Parking is limited but we found a spot on the side of the building. very cute place with plenty of seating. They were pretty busy around 10:45am so you know it's good! I ordered the fluffer nutter iced coffee and a blueberry lemonade. IMO it's a bit overpriced but they were both good drinks. It's tough to find cafes where the matcha latte is made from real matcha instead of a prepared, heavily sweetened mix, but House of Coffi is one of the rare places that does it right. Overpriced and mediocre. This was my second time coming to the House of Coffi and I will not be returning. The food should not be as expensive as it is for the quality. The service is slow as It took 10 minutes for me to get my bagel. Which ended up being wrong since I asked for it with butter and they made it with cream cheese. I got an iced latte which honestly didn't taste great. While the store itself looks nice, I will not be spending my money here again. read more

The House of Coffi seems to be the only stand alone coffee shop in Dover. This might be because they've chased all of the other competitors away. It would be very difficult to top the atmosphere, service, and tastes served in this perfect location. They are located in the city center of Dover. Walking distance to legislative offices, the library, the Biggs museum. I popped in the afternoon before Thanksgiving, and discovered a steady stream of customers on a quiet day. We ordered an Americano, which was a lighter roast than preferred, but was still rich and hot. We also had their chai latte made with almond milk and extra cinnamon. They prepare their own chai concentrate, and can add more or less to your drink to suit your taste. Mine was perfect. The tables are away from the counter, so no one had to compete for space. I'll be back on a warmer day to watch the world go by from the patio. They host art openings and community events, and offer pastries from a variety of the well known bakeries in town. read more

The atmosphere is quaintly adorable. The coffee is not the best, but this seems to be the only coffee shop in the area. Customer service isn't easy, so I get it. It is disheartening when you hear staff exclaim how they don't get paid enough. They may have been joking amongst themselves, but they were loud about it. I saw another commenter state there wasn't an option to leave a tip with card. I found there is! You have to tell them beforehand so they can figure it in. They really need to configure the option to tap it in on screen instead of having to ask to add. All in all, if you want the coffee shop vibe, this is the only one in the area. In town visiting so we Yelped coffee and Tea near me. First place up was House of Coffi. Let's start with it had no menu board when we were there, my sister who is a fan has told me it's returned. The place has no parking. The inside where your order is small and the space is very confusing about where to line up. The patio out front even smaller. They had what looked like local art all over the walls, didn't know if it was for sale. The iced coffees we got were good and with leaving room for sugar and creams we were set. Love this little gem downtown! They have great pastries to go with any coffee or drink you'd like, including custom drinks that change all the time. I go at least once a month, and the upstairs ( 3 steps) area is a good place to sit with friends or quietly enjoy some alone time! Yes it's a local coffee shop, but no it isn't hipster and pretentious. This place is warm and welcoming right off the bat. Let me just say, I live for bagels... like, I LIVE for bagels. These are the best in Dover. Big and fluffy, slight crisp on the outside, and the everything seasoning was perfect. Salty but not too much. Spinach and onion was a bit savory and subtle on onion flavor. Staff is soooo friendly and willing to answer questions. They have a wonderful seasonal menu and have a HUGE list of dairy alternatives. Cute! I'm impressed, this cute little cafe is much better than I thought it would be. Dover definitely lacks coffee shops, and this top notch. It has indoor (high chairs and a separate dinner-style room) and outdoor seating. It has a vintage vibe too it and I love it! There are paintings, photos, and other artwork posted up for sale around the cafe by local artists, which adds to the feel of the place. The staff here are also super nice and welcoming. Of course, there's coffee, as well as assortments of desserts. I tried the eggnog latte, because it's in season and it was pretty good. I wonder if this place has coffee mugs instead of the paper cups. I live for those coffee-cream decorations. I should've asked. First time was for a lunch date and turned up for noon. Adequate outdoor seating for the weather so decided to take advantage... Ordered an iced coffee and a large croissant after waiting a bit in line. A but of a cramped interior as it is in the old part of downtown and the interior seating looks uncomfortable. Service was with a smile and suggestions but quite a lot of chatter and confusion amongst the staff over orders. Not sure how my food was delivered to me outside well before my lunch dates, who ordered some time before me as I wanted to save our shaded table from poachers... she literally waited a good ten minutes after I had received mine to get her drink and muffin... a muffin eclair type treat that was premade??
