I called in on short notice and asked for a sub tray for 10 people, and these guys came through! The subs were loaded with meat, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Everyone on the boat thought they were a huge hit! In fact, everyone liked the idea so much that they started copying this easy lunch idea themselves. Hopefully that brings you guys some extra business! Thanks again for the awesome job. Great food, great service, and you definitely delivered when we needed you. Keep up the great work! read more

Twinny's Place - Cheesesteak - Sandwiches Near Me - Galena, Maryland

Had a large cheesesteak with fried onions from here the other day. Unlike their hoagie, you can eat the whole thing in one sitting. It was very good. Well seasoned, a good amount of cheese, perfectly fried onions and a decent roll (a little soft for my liking). An overall good experience. I ordered ahead for pickup at a specific time. When I arrived one of the friendly staff brought my cheesesteak out exactly on time and it was nice and hot. I will be back for sure. read more

Went in on a whim on a snowy Saturday. We were seated immediately with no wait. The staff was very friendly, and the food came out in the right amount of time. Not too fast, not too slow. The coffee was piping hot, and the cup stayed full. Not a lot of tables, so they aren't the best for large groups, but an intimate meal for 2-4 is perfect here. I will definitely come here again next time I roll through. Also- Cash only, no cards. But, there is an ATM next door. read more

Well, it was $77 for 3 subs, a salad, and 4 bags of chips. So, I think we were robbed.

Food and service were good but pricing was a little ridiculous. 30 dollars for two turkey club sandwiches with no pricing on the signage where you order. Seemed a little deceitful but it seems this place got a little too big for their britches. read more

I've been going to Twinny's since I was a small child. I'm in my 40s now...that should tell you how good their food has been consistently good. They always greet their customers no matter how busy they are. The place is so old school and country. I love it. Nothing sexy about the place but those are the best places to eat They have a lot of good food from breakfast to sandwiches. I love their crab bisque and chicken cheesesteaks. My family loves their subs. Tons of meat. You won't be able to finish! Best chicken cheesesteaks and beef cheesesteaks east of the Mississippi. Amen!!! read more

Old fashioned place with pretty good food. One thing they should have is some music playing. Would make the dining experience more enjoyable

Stopped in while visiting the area. Very comfortable "mom and pop" shop. Greeted as we came in and seated immediately. The staff tag teamed the table, and our order was taken quickly. I had a small tuna sub and my partner had an egg salad sandwich. Both were ample portions and appeared and tasted fresh. Server checked in with us occasionally. Price was right and the meal hit the spot. read more

I was temporarily living about 5 miles from Twinny's and driving an hour to work every and went past. I finally decided to stop one day and pick up dinner because I didn't feel like cooking. The take out area is a small area that looks like you are standing at the counter of someone's kitchen but you could see everything in front of you. I got a Medium Roast Beef sub. When I got home and saw the amount of meat stacked on it, I was dumbfounded. Now most people would probably say you get your money's worth and you definitely do! I am not into that overload of meat and picked off half of it and still was loaded with a baggie of about 1/2 lb of beef extra. The sub was delicious!! Bread was fresh and the beef was very good and all produce on the sub was fresh. I hace since gotten a cheeseburger sub and an ham sub and same thing was true. The ham was the best ham sub I ever had after I again picked off half of the meat (seriously there had to be a pound or more of meat). It was so much that I had it for dinner 2 nights and took the extra ham in a sandwich to work. All told 3 meals out of a $15 sub. Great deal. The open face Turkey sandwich looks amazing as do the home made crab cakes that are most meat with little filler. I highly recommend and if you are going, call ahead or you will wait for a while because they are constantly busy. read more

Twinny's Place - Half cut sandwich - Sandwiches Near Me - Galena, Maryland

This is a tiny place and it's obviously pretty popular, judging by the number of cars that are always in the parking lot when we drive by. We recently bought a place nearby and finally stopped at Twinny's for breakfast last weekend. We arrived around 9:45 on a Saturday morning and were surprised that we didn't have to wait for a table. Overall, we were pleased with our visit but we did have a few small issues. I had a Western Omelet which was great until I chomped on a rather large eggshell - now, that's not quite up there with finding bugs in my food, but it wasn't very pleasant - I was just thankful that I didn't come across it until I had only three bites left of my omelet - I would have had to send it back if it had happened when I first started eating. My husband got Creamed Chipped Beef on potatoes - his breakfast staple - and had no problems with it, other than commenting that they were a bit chintzy on the potatoes. They were a little chintzy with mine, but I was disappointed by the fact that there were no onions in them, after our waitress had asked us if we wanted them. Oh the troubles in life. The only other thing was that the unsweetened iced tea tasted weird to me - but I will admit I am SUPER picky about iced tea so I just have to remember not to order it again. The service was friendly and fast, the prices were right (a surprise for the area they're in) and the food was really pretty good, so I think we'll be back sometime. read more

Twinny's Place - Breakfast! - Sandwiches Near Me - Galena, Maryland

Twinnys Place is a great place to go for a sub that's full of good fresh meat! The turkey sub must have had a pound of meat. Hubby had a cheesesteak sandwich that was served hot and delicious. I had the Rock fish basket with fries. Friendly servers in this quaint old fashioned spot. Homemade soups and chilli tots were very good. read more

This is my second review of this wonderful gem of a restaurant!! We have eaten here many times and the food and service is always the best! My personal favorite is their pancakes. I love pancakes and I rate places based on the quality of their pancakes. Twinny's in MHO has the very best pancakes I have had anywhere. read more

The food here is made with LOVE. Breakfast is great, I recommend their sausage--both links and patties. The pancakes are thin like a crepe, so you can eat them without feeling pancake-stuffed. I have driven across two counties for breakfast that includes Twinny's pancakes. My daughter, often teen hangry, loves the lunch sandwiches, which are big enough for her lunch and dinner. There is a separate takeout counter which makes for easy pickup if you are on the road and can't have a sit down lunch. Service is prompt and cheerful. The seating area is small, homey, tables kept clean. If sitting at the counter, you can watch the efficient kitchen team. Lots of locals eat here so there is often talk across the tables about fields, family news, hunting season, and Galena happenings. Prices are very affordable. Bring CASH or expect to walk over to the bank ATM. No credit cards. The bathroom is very small. read more

On the way back to Baltimore from a delightful day on the Eastern Shore, we stopped at Twinny's Place in Galena for dinner. What a charming and cozy little restaurant! Everyone (staff and other guests) we met were so friendly and welcoming. Kyle, our server, was a delight and very attentive. The menu is really varied. My husband had the soup of the day, "Crab Bisque," which he really liked. It was a tomato-based bisque with just the right amount of Old Bay Seasoning. He also enjoyed a Cheesesteak sub with just the steak, provolone and mayo. I think he was in heaven. I ordered the Rockfish platter - 3 pieces of fried Rockfish with a side of potato salad and coleslaw - all delicious. My brother had the liver and onions with a side of green beans and coleslaw. His wife had a Tuna Melt. They were especially happy with their comfort foods. My brother had to end with a sweet and enjoyed the peach pie. All in all, it was a great stop for dinner. read more

Food was very good and reasonable. Cute old fashioned spot small and very busy service was good but you can't be in a hurry.

I have never had a crab cake this good in my life! No filler and chunks of crab as big as my finger! Kyle and the rest of the staff were outstanding...constantly checking in to see if I wanted more coffee, even chatted with me a bit about the area. Thrilled I stumbled on this delight! Would come back in a heartbeat if I'm in the area. read more

The meals are okay, but cheap and the desserts are yummy. The staff are very nice in this decades old family run business. Today we had a couple of their huge packed subs. The bread on mine was fresh, the other a day older and a little staler, yet pretty good. The regulars rave about the subs here and it's a popular spot in Galena. Its a three a half stars for me and could easily be a four. read more

Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Twinny's Place is a local staple and will be for generations to come!! Keep it up!

Hadn't been here in years but were in the area and thought we'd stop in. The place was jam packed- being July 3 was not surprised. Every table was taken and people were waiting outside. We decided to wait. I am sure the food is very good in a regular day, but today they were clearly "slammed" and short handed. That said the food was mediocre at best and the waitress was incredibly rude to the customers. You could tell she was stressed but that is still no reason to be so rude. Looked around at other tables and other customers were saying the same thing-all just trying to be friendly and order a meal, but getting blasted for it. She even chased some customers away by snapping that "it will be a long wait" as soon as they walked in the door. Will try again another time and hope she is having a better day. read more

Can you give 0 star? First impression was good. Outside was well lit, inviting, nice landscaping. Inside is small, but clean. We were not greeted by anyone on staff, but a customer did tell us to seat ourselves. The menu is...disappointing and predictable. Usual pub fare: fried foods and subs. Not at all what I expected. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was DELICIOUS! Hot crispy fries on the side were yummy! My hubby ordered the crab cake which was not great. The thing that happened which made me wish for a zero rating? A couple sitting across the restaurant from us had their server JR box the leftover on her plate, and they ordered pie. My husband observed JR drop the piece of food she wanted to take to go, on the floor, and he then picked it up off of the floor and put it in her box. The young gal helping in the dining room brought it to her. We left right after this, and my husband told the couple what the server had done. They were incredulous, actually didn't believe what he told them. If this is something that happens once and we see it, it probably happens a lot. We won't be back. I hope you skip this place too. read more

Coming from a big city, I have never experienced feeling unwelcome in a restaurant before. The person that served us was an older lady, and to say that she was being rude is an understatement. I'm not sure what it was but I felt very uncomfortable with the looks she was giving us from behind the counter. I just left the restaurant and I'm still shaken up by it. It was two of us and we both felt it. This was very backwards behavior and I could not help but post about it, I really hope something gets done about this. read more

Great diner food and excellent service. A pleasant surprise. Highly recommend. If you're passing through that town. Stop in!!

This is my go to place for any night I don't want to cook or a lunch when I don't want what's in the fridge. The pizza is so fantastic that we consider it a special treat. The pizza will cost a little more than your average box store, but the taste you're getting is so worth it! read more

SO GOOD!! My friends and I were having a girls' weekend at a nearby Air BnB and we stopped here after checkout on our final day. We were dying for a yummy diner breakfast and that's exactly what we got!! Delicious food and super friendly staff. We wanted to eat outside so we went to the takeout door. They were super busy so the gentleman who was working brought menus outside for us to look at, and then even came outside to take our order and brought it out to us when it was done. The food was great. The eggs, bacon and homefries were all perfectly cooked and not too greasy. will definitely visit again if I'm in the area! read more

This place does takeout and dine-in. And their priority for service and orders is the takeout. It took us over an hour to get just eggs and bacon. The place was packed, not a single place to sit, yet every single table was waiting for their food because take-out is the priority. And the food really wasn't worth the over an hour wait. When we asked what took so long, the answer was it's a small grill and lots of takeout orders. My recommendation to this business is to stop taking takeout orders if you can't manage both. I'll never go back. I'm disappointed because this place came highly recommend by a friend. read more
