I had heard about the Hawaiian shaved ice. Mommom's have it with about12 flavors of syrup. It was so good I can never go back to regular ice treats. The ice was shaved to slivers that sat up perfectly fluffy and light. The syrup (I got strawberry after contemplating Tiger Blood or Coconut) was wonderfully sweet and penetrated to ice perfectly. I even managed to only drip 3 drops on my black & white dress. It was inexpensive and an oversized portion of small. Yummy. read more

I was confused when I arrived because all the reviews mentioned homemade ice cream, but it had a Hershey's ice cream ad out front. Upon entering, the young woman showed us 2 cases of Hershey's ice cream, and one of fresh homemade ice cream, just made in-house. She also showed me another freezer chest with pints and quarts of other homemade flavors. I was definitely all about the homemade stuff. Got two scoops, Oreo and Peach! I had checked their social media to see posts about the fresh peaches they just got for the ice cream, it was really good! They post regularly, so check that out for their latest flavors! Loved the Oreo too... that was my toddler's favorite. Huge portions! I could not finish it all. My toddler liked the pictures on the walls, especially the posters of a kitten and a giraffe eating ice cream. Cheesy but adorable touch! The young woman who helped us was so kind and sweet... explained all the flavors and said we could sample if we weren't sure. She was in the middle of talking to us when some male employee appeared, took over in an authoritarian way, with no discussion with the woman, and just gave our total, like "where's the money" all brusque and pushy. That young woman was personable and deserves 10 stars; the guy was obnoxious. I wanted to tip the young woman but they don't let you do it with c-card, and I had no cash. So bring cash for tips! I didn't see Mommom... is she fictional or real? Or a spirit watching over us? Any which way, I'm happy I stopped, and will definitely visit again! There were only about 6 or so when I went there and I was also expecting more homemade ice cream flavors instead of them just serving Hershey's ice cream. I finally had the opportunity to stop in today and was looking forward to the homemade butter almond. Unfortunately the last of it looked liked a melted glob and the clerk couldn't be bothered to answer any of my questions about the other flavors. Absolutely delicious ice cream flavors. They offer I guess around a dozen of their own flavors as well as a huge selection of Hershey Ice Cream flavors. The prices for the scoops are very reasonable and the scoops themselves are generous. I had the weirdly named Pretzel Salad which is better than the name. Very interesting and unusual flavors and textures in it. It is attached to some kind of grocery store which I didn't get a chance to get a good look at. If we are ever driving through the town again I will try to stop in and take a look. Honestly this is probably a nice town to live in but aside from a very good military air museum nearby there's not a lot to recommend the town for a visit. But this ice cream shop is the highlight if you're driving through. read more

This place was a gem. My husband and I went here for the first time tonight. It was a quaint little place with two nice young guys who helped us. There were approximately 8 homemade flavors and the rest were Hershey's. My husband got Chocolate Moose Tracks and I got the Dark Chocolate Hazelnut. Both were wonderful but I have to give the win to the dark chocolate. It was wonderfully rich without being too sweet. Overall a nice find. I can't wait to go back and try a house flavor. I had the homemade corn ice cream, which was delicious. It of course tasted like corn with hint of vanilla. My daughter had cotton candy, which tasted exactly like it. My son had the cherry shaved ice and he devoured it. He tried to down the melted juice that was left. I didn't need an over hyper 2 year old! My husband got a milk shake which he enjoyed as well! Went here a few months ago for something sweet and boy do I not regret it!! I got a double a scoop of strawberry cheesecake which lasted me a bit. The scoops are huge and it feels like a steal. Stopped on our way home north. Delicious homemade ice cream! Easy access from Rt 1. Only down side was the only non dairy flavors both had chocolate. Our non dairy person doesn't love chocolate, a fruit flavor would have been great. But others in our group had the homemade peanut butter and coffee flavors and they were great.
