We hosted a local fundraiser volleyball tournament this past Saturday 7/19/25. So we were excited when Bee Bowl'd agreed to attend our fundraiser! Well, 48 hours before the tournament, I called the owner, Danielle, in order to confirm what time she would be there. What followed was a very bizarre phone conversation, where she proceeds to tell me she's been "back and forth" about whether or not she should still come, since there would be 2 other food trucks there. Now you see, Danielle agreed to come to our event on April 17th, and she was also well aware that Kona ice and Carl's gourmet Hots would be there. Clearly, Açaí bowls are not in direct competition with shaved ice or hot dogs/sandwiches. We had especially wanted her açaí bowl truck because volleyball players LOVE acai bowls, which I tried hard to convey that to her while she was telling me she isn't coming. Unfortunately, she did not care one bit that even though she had committed to come to this event (which we were also promised 10% donation from each food truck as this was a fundraiser for us). She then asked me "we'll have you ever even eaten at my shop?" Ma'am what? Completely irrelevant as to why you're literally cancelling less than 48hrs before our event. Which by the way, I have no idea whether she was even planning to call or if she just wasn't going to show up? MANY players and parents were upset that the acai bowl truck was not in attendance, as it was advertised starting back in April when she committed. People were actually looking forward to this healthier option, and were very disappointed. Danielle had no reason to cancel, gave no actual reason other than "not wanting to compete with/take business away from" the other 2 food trucks. Well, even the other 2 food trucks thought it was ridiculous that she would cancel, especially so last minute. I'm left with an awful taste in my mouth from this experience with Danielle at Bee Bowl'd. Definitely think twice about supporting her "small local business" that clearly doesn't care about the commitments they make or disappointing hundreds of people from our community at our non-profit event Saturday! Not a good look, Danielle.

I have also been looking for A place to get nutrition supplies While supporting a small business instead of a big box store such as Walmart. I was driving past and saw the sign for "new u nutriton" and was SO excited because y'all..I was actually stupid enough to think this place was either a nutrition clinic with licensed professionals and or a store like GNC but a small business..I did a quick google search and realized it was a shake place that sells pyramid scheme Herbalife. Very misleading title. There is nothing good or nutritious about Herbalife. Guys PLEASE do a basic google search about Herbalife, they have been involved in so many law suits. There's even a documentary about their "stores" on Netflix. On another note, if anyone has advice on any small business stores that sell nutrition supplements that's not a pyramid scheme or know of any LICENSED nutrition experts in Kent county DE please let me know... the search continues!!!

Serious Safety Hazard - Foreign Object in My Child's Smoothie…read more On 5/28/25 I ordered A Chia banana boost with dark chocolate added from this Tropical Smoothie Café location for my 1- and 2-year-old children to share they both ingested a foreign blue rubber object that had been blended into their smoothie. After retrieving the object, I discovered what the item was with absolutely no help whatsoever from the staff that served me the smoothie. I later found out myself what it was and that it has chemical compound and lead exposure warnings. We had to rush both children to the emergency room for evaluation and treatment. The emotional trauma and fear we've experienced as parents is indescribable. What makes this even more horrifying is that the store is continuing to use the same container/equipment, despite being made aware of the incident. I have photos, physical evidence, medical documentation, and witnesses. I've also reached out to corporate multiple times with no response. This is not just bad customer service--this is a public health risk, especially to young children. I'm filing complaints with the health department and the FDA, and pursuing legal action to ensure this never happens to another family. Please be extremely cautious. If you're a parent, think twice before ordering here until they address this issue seriously.
