We absolutely loved this little shop! Walking in and seeing so many people enjoying coffee with…read moretheir dogs made it feel warm and full of community. The vibes were immaculate- cozy, relaxed and the kind of place that makes you want to stay a while. There was even a woman with two dogs and she had brought their little beds for them! We kept it simple with an Ube latte for me and a sunset punch for my partner. The latte was perfect and not that horrific sweetness that tends to be the hallmark of most places these days and the lemonade was fresh and perfect for a lightly sunny drive over to the West Side. I knew I had to have the English muffin from the moment I saw it. We requested it simply toasted with butter and jam and shared each half. I wish I had a dog to sit and enjoy my time there as they offered free drip coffee refills. Maybe that's where I'll be later this week as I'm definitely coming back, and soon!

The cortado was solid, though not one of the stronger ones I've had. Presentation and latte art were decent, but there were some visible micro bubbles and the surface had a noticeable two-tone appearance rather than a fully integrated, glossy texture. The drink was also served hotter than a cortado should be, which made it difficult to pick up the coffee's character at first. As it cooled, some pleasant citrus notes started to come through and the drink became more enjoyable. Overall, a solid coffee shop with great atmosphere. I enjoyed the experience, but I think better milk integration and a more appropriate serving temperature would have elevated the cortado quite a bit.

The cafe was not particularly busy, so I was able to get in and out in about five minutes. My friend had recommended the halva croissant as a must-try, as not many bakeries seem to carry this specific flavor. I wasn't familiar with halva, but it's a ground sesame paste that's rich, nutty, and not too sweet. I loved how crunchy the bottom of the croissant was. There was definitely some caramelization that occurred in the oven. The croissant as a whole was very flakey as well -- not something you want to eat in a car where you'll get crumbs everywhere. I didn't feel like the croissant necessarily needed the powdered sugar on top. My guess is that the powdered sugar was included to mimic the appearance of an almond croissant that folks are more familiar with. If you're stopping by Friends & Family, I would highly recommend trying out their halva croissant.

I kept getting recommended this spot. So it was time for me to strike. I got the following : - ham & cheese croissant (my go-to) - citrus cake/muffin - some scone The ham & cheese (pictured) - this was tasty. The croissant itself was buttery more than anything else. Not much to complain about there. The ham was sparse but the cheese was spilling out the sides like a salty, chewy candle wax. It didn't blow my mind, but I would get again. 7/10 The scone - I don't remember what kind of scone. I remember it was somewhat dry (common with scones) and the flavor was subtle (some sort of citrus essence). I like a decent scone, so I'd probably get again, but it's not the reason I'm driving to Hollywood. 6.8/10 Citrus cake/muffin - this was largely fine. Enjoyable, but again, nothing too delectable. The icing on the outside was pleasing - if a little sweet. Visually, it was very appealing. Glowing orange/gold with a sweet glaze sheen on it. I had hoped the taste would match the presentation, but it's ok! I'll survive this one. 6.5/10 I still recommend this place. The space itself is large and comfortable. The menu includes real food besides bakery treats, it looked good. Give it a shot during your LA bakery tour.

A little taste of Thailand right here in LA!…read more This Thai dessert spot is an absolute hidden gem, with so many colorful and beautifully made traditional treats to choose from. From the soft and fragrant pandan coconut pudding topped with fresh coconut to kanom pia filled with rich salted egg yolk, everything tasted fresh, delicate, and perfectly balanced not overly sweet. The crispy pandan treats were such a fun surprise: light, crunchy, aromatic, and filled with creamy coconut goodness. I also loved seeing so many nostalgic Thai favorites displayed in one place it honestly felt like stepping into a dessert shop back in Thailand. If you love pandan, coconut, and authentic Thai sweets, this spot definitely deserves a visit. Come hungry, because choosing just one is almost impossible! However, some parts of the mango were a bit tart for my liking and had some brown spots. - Butterfly Pea Ice Cream: I'm not usually a fan of floral ice creams, but this was pretty good and creamy! This went well with the mango sticky rice. I wasn't a fan of the hard bits in the ice cream though. We got it topped with lod chong and grass jelly which went well with the ice cream. The dessert and pastry variety here is good. They have some indoor seating and tables as well as a bathroom.

The ambiance is so aesthetic, and the second floor has a cute receipt paper instant photo printer! The Handles matcha is one of my favorites in terms of flavor, but it is a bit on the smaller side. I'm not a huge fan of the matcha latte though, it came out pretty grainy for me both times I tried it. At first, it didn't bother me too much as long as they didn't change the coffee. I even spoke to the owner about it, and he assured me that they weren't going to change anything. They changed up the decor in the building which didn't really bother me at first. Lo and behold, after about a month or so, every single drink on the menu was altered slightly and renamed. At first, I was excited because the drinks were a little bit bigger. But it turns out the drinks were just watered down l, not to mention the quality and the experience. This place used to be S-tier but now it's mid at best. And it's a damned shame too.

The juices and smoothies are average, nothing to write home about. The lemonade tastes like it's probably from a cheap mix. They claim that their pastries are homemade, but they often don't taste very good, and there are containers from Costco. Other reviews have mentioned that many of their pastries are from Costco as well, which is just straight-up false advertising. When I have ordered pastries here, they have often come out simultaneously burnt yet still cold, or never the right temperature. Service is hit or miss. Oftentimes, the person who works at the front seems really apathetic and unfriendly. The music playing outside is really loud, and they refuse to turn it down, so it makes it impossible to hang out or get any work done in their outside seating area. And alarm bells in my head always go off when I see a business owner respond to a review in the tone that the owner did to one of the reviews on here.

The breakfast burrito with eggs, avocado, and bacon was really good--nicely toasted, filling, and definitely something I'd come back for. Also tried the fresh orange juice. Got Get Em has become my go-to spot for getting work done, taking coffee meetings, and honestly just starting the day at this point many morning out of the week. The staff is friendly and when I go early in the morning the vibe is calm enough to focus but alive enough to feel energized. I'm over a year into being a regular here and I still haven't found a place near me thats better for what I need for the early morning work sessions. The coffee is great!. I rotate between their drip coffee (which changes regularly) and their house-made almond and macadamia milk latte, which is one of my favorite lattes Ive had in LA. That house milk blend is the move. I also love their food and their chef and kitchen staff is exceptional at that they do. Their simple bean and cheese burrito is a staple, but the egg, bean and cheese burrito with tater tots is also something I like to get from time to time. They all are served with house made salsas, that I wish I knew the recipe to. I do occasionally order the everything bagel with cream cheese and heirloom tomato, which is delicious, but $7 for half a bagel is a little steep. Overall this is a gem of a neighborhood spot that I'd recommend to absolutely anyone, whether you live in Los Feliz or just need a reliable work café, or just want a really great cup of coffee with food that actually excites you. Who it's for: early risers, remote workers, coffee connoisseurs , and anyone who appreciates a spot that becomes part of their routine.
