This is a piece of history, not to be missed! We enjoyed sandwiches, pasta salad and enjoyed sitting out on their porch. There's a bathroom downstairs but not easy to access.

I love the coffee here and this place is all about the locals and ambiance. The only negative I have is people sitting for hours working with only one cup of coffee and taking up the limited seating. Parking is very limited also. But it's my local and I love it.

Sooo great and picturesque. Quaint store on one of my favorite streets in LA and so full of history too. The place is just so pleasant, the market has great products, and the seating area is so pretty. Good place to hang, eat, and study like I did. The place is reminiscent of Europe according to my European friend lol. Parking is a bit of a hassle but not too bad around non-rush hours :) music they play is so good toooo

One of my newfound favorite spots. The atmosphere is wonderful. It is a meeting ground for people from all walks, which makes it feel like like a place stopped in time. The fact that it is tucked in among the canyon only helps create a sense of peace--at once like being out in the Adirondacks and in 1960s California. The coffee is good--occasionally a bit buzzy for me, but perfectly nice. It's not the main reason I come. Loved my almond croissant the one time I had it! Overall, worth a visit for the feeling of being in the space. To me, everything else is extra. Extra details: no WiFi, cash or Venmo only, small parking lot, outdoor seating. People are friendly and will often share their tables (or at least they did for me).

We've been coming here for years and it's always the best-- just got a almond milk cappuccino that is seriously the best prepared espresso drink I've had in months between Los Angeles, San Francisco, and everywhere in between... Lily not only makes excellent coffees that are super convenient in a surprisingly remote neighborhood, but the vibe and kindness never fails. The pastries also never disappoint, I always recommend this spot! thank you lily for the love!

This is by far the coolest coffee place in the city. Yeah, baby. Come for a chat. The store has general store written all over it and definitely feels like you've gone camping! They have a salad/food bar too with lots of healthy options. Great history with this place too, check it out!

I highly recommend the Hawaj Latte for a new experience.

Coffee generally makes me too buzzy, but the decaf with hawaj is perfect positivity for me. And the owner gets pastries from the best shop in LA, I think, La Chouquette on Melrose.

Lilly has been a part of Laurel Canyon for decades and the love she puts into every cup of coffee shows. You start going for the delicious coffee but you keep coming back for the community. This is one of the only places in L.A. that still has that has that old-world, true neighborhood feel and that is because of Lilly and Spike. All artwork surrounding the cart and the County Store has been painted by the very talented Spike. It's one of the most special magical places you can come (pets welcome!) for your daily java. Lilly can make you coffee however you want with whatever type of milk you want, hot or cold, decaf or regular, you name it and her pastry section (scones, croissants, you name it) is always fresh and delicious. Drip or espresso, whatever you choose. Parking is free and they have their own lot that they share with the Country Store and Pace but you won't come at night for the coffee (mostly because she's closed) so you don't have to worry about the valet. If you like delicious coffee that can transform you from a zombie-like state into a bundle of happiness, this is your spot. Hours are 7:30am to 2:00pm daily. Your life is about to get better.

I guess it helps to be surrounded by sweet delights and wafts of sugar-filled cakes baking in the ovens. There's so much greenery, you'll feel your stress levels drop. And that's one of the key ingredients for a lazy Sunday. The only thing to stress me out this time is choosing from like twenty amazing menu options. After debating, nay agonizing, back and forth while waiting in line, I landed on the Huevos Rancheros. The golden crispy tortilla shells add a nice crunch and they're generous with avocado portions. As for the Matcha Latte, it's perfectly frothy. Next up: The Country Breakfast. The pancakes were fluffy & buttery. The cute strawberry banana garnish was like a cherry on top of an ice cream sundae. Def recommend this dish just for the pancakes. One insider tip: Just remember to pack your patience if there's a line. Aroma always draws a crowd just about any time of day (or night). So come when you're feeling a little lazy or wanting to savor the moment with every bite.

Like, I literally had to look up from laptop a couple times because I was overhearing him being awesome to people. I'm not just talking about courtesy and baseline customer service, which bosses make their employees perform. He was just as sweet to the Door Dash/Uber Eats couriers. There was no figurative "wall" between him and the customer. It all just seemed more personal and like he really wanted everyone to leave feeling good. I know I did. I was really, really cold the entire time I was there, but it's January and I'm in a skirt, so that one is on me. The music kinda sucked but I see no reason to dock a star for that.

Unfortunately I was disappointed by the flavor of the coffee. There was no hint of rose at all. The coffee flavor itself tasted ok but when you advertise rose, you should get that prominent flavor shine through.

Ambiance: Inside has a bare and rustic feel to it, the rugs and the beautiful embroidered piece on the motorcycle inside feel so intentional. The natural lighting was beautiful and the exterior even matched. The seating is decent compared to the size and most people just picked up their drinks and left so that was not a problem. Drinks: We ordered the yala latte and the fig and vanilla matcha. The yala latte was delicious, sweet (but not too sweet), with a strong, smooth coffee flavor. The fig and vanilla matcha was the best matcha we've ever had. Once stirred, you get the delicious jammy flavor from the fig with the slight inclusions of some seeds and light pulp. The matcha was delicious and high quality as well. Overall the drink was our perfection with the balance of all the flavors and the aesthetic dried fig on top. Service: We got there around 3:30 on a Friday and the line wasn't too long. The line moved swiftly as they took everyone's order and got the drinks turned around fairly quickly. Overall: Yala stands out for its beautifully curated space and atmosphere and genuinely tasty drinks making it worth the hassle of parking and the typical LA crowd. The ambiance feels intentional and artistic without feeling overdone or too much, and the drinks, especially the fig and vanilla matcha are thoughtfully crafted and memorable in both flavor and presentation. Yala is the type of spot where you'd come back when you want something that is not only visually pleasing but genuinely well made. They have many other interesting options that we will be sure to come back and try.

Well, that was a no given that we needed to stop by to check it out. The place is quite cute. Dim lighting in the lounge area. Tables with a candle light and lightly dim throughout the whole place. Seating right when you walk in as well as and some table outside. The second room or back area is where you order. There's a glass displays with all the pastries. Not only a coffee shop, but a wine bar. I honestly didn't know that they offered this. There was a good selections of the reds available for the 2 for 1. Pricewise, it range from 16.00-18.00 a glass. As it was the art walk, it was quite busy. You order, which the gentlemen that was taking orders was quite friendly. All the staff member were friendly. After ordering, you just wait till your drinks were brought out and names were called. Also seat yourself. The concept with wine and coffee is quite smart as it brings everyone in.
