This is only a rating for the coffee, coffee or espresso actually is excellent but the environment in neighborhood are pretty sketchy so I wouldn't go there to be thinking you're gonna sit down and talk but for picking up a coffee and leaving, it's a good place. the place is super small so I'd recommend it for that. read more

Horrible matcha and even worse service. I came in for an iced matcha latte with oat milk. For the sweetener I chose the brown sugar option which came with a 25 cent upcharge. It was pretty disheartening to see that the "brown sugar sweetener" was just two sugar packets dumped into your cup after the surplus of oat milk and cheap matcha poured over ice. Even though the main flavor of the entire beverage was oat milk, the matcha was grainy and brown sugar crunchy. I went back in 5 minutes later after deciding it wasn't worth forcing myself to drink it. I asked if I could potentially get a coffee instead because it just wasn't that good. The "barista" suggested matcha wasn't my thing and told me I wouldn't be able to do an exchange. He had a pretty nasty attitude for a Sunday morning, but still not as nasty as the drink he prepared. Saw that they have pistachio milk, had to visit! It was about $13 for two 16-oz lattes with syrup (+ $1) & milk substitution (+ $.50). Most cafes charge like $1 for milk subs so this was very reasonable. It's definitely the most affordable coffee place we tried in WeHo so far. My latte with pistachio milk was pretty good! Hope they expand the menu, would love to try different flavors. My boyfriend's latte with dairy milk was underwhelming. We barely tasted the espresso. Will give it another try & ask for less milk next time haha. Small store with indoor & outdoor seating available. Street parking only. read more

Not sure if the name came from what I'm about to say, but this cute spot has a compellingly good iced coffee. Sometimes you find a good cold ice coffee and after a few sips it hits you "Wow, this is fantastically good coffee!" I had one of those moments today after ordering. From what I saw it's street parking only. However, I was able to park on the street for free before 11am on Sunday! Score! read more

Though this place is located in one of the newest buildings in the block (the line lofts) there is sketchy activity going on in the street so please don't seat on the tables outside if you're just a girl by yourself. Now the coffee and pastries is what drawn my friend and I into this place. We ordered the breakfast sandwhich (egg, bacon, avocado and chipotle on ciabatta... very compelling for sure!), the blueberry mufin and the orange pastry to share. All three were delicious and pretty filling for a shared breakkie. The coffee was solid and yummy as well. I love the inside plants and the attention. We got here pretty early one weekday morning and the guy in there was super attentive. I will be back accompanied again soon. Street parking. read more

The girl who works here is very pleasant and makes nice drinks. Yesterday the guy working here served up a mocha and a hot chocolate with way too little chocolate. I placed my drink in the fridge and wasn't able to come back until today to ask for a proper drink. He flat-out refused to make a new one to replace it. Terrible customer service - will never go back, EVER. Edit: for an idea of the kind of customer service you can expect here, simply read the reply he left below. 2nd Edit: He even ridiculed me when, upon entering a building, the large, heavy metal handle fell right off the door! Obviously someone in this dangerous, sketchy neighborhood directly across from a sex and drug trafficking flophouse was trying to break in and had unscrewed it. I just happened to be the one to pull the heavy door hard enough finally to take it off. This thick metal beam fell off and almost hit me, clanging on the ground really loud. I guess scumbags like him think people being in danger is hilarious - says a lot, really. Actually, I'm glad he brought that up because that's another problem with this café - there are drug dealers and pimps who work directly across the street and set up dirty couches and leave heaps of trash, while blasting loud terrible music. Technically that's a problem with the street, not the café, but the employees should be calling the police on these criminals and don't. This problem does make it impossible to enjoy a drink on their little tables outside. read more

I'm compelled to tell others about this coffee shop. Truly tiny yet mighty. A few blocks off the busy drag of Hollywood Blvd is Compelling Coffee. While it is simply a pick up window and a one seat coffeeshop, they focus on their pride and joy: Coffee. They honestly make a mean latte, cappuccino, and drip coffee. The Good Food Award medals only go to prove my point. I appreciate the fact that their coffee is ethically sourced and roasted locally in LA. I also love the option of oat and pistachio milk as an alternative milk offering (+.75 cents). While I have already been here twice, I foresee myself returning in the near future. The friendly staff, delicious lattes and chocolate banana bread (which also happens to be gluten free) are all stellar. read more

Small local place, we are here from out of town and I love trying new and local places and this one happened to be close to our hotel. They have lots of plants on the inside (I love plants so that is a bonus). A few stools to sit and they have a few pastries and juices and they also sell their bagged coffee. Only one size of coffee though, I like a big coffee so I was a bit disappointed about that. Service was quick and friendly. Only three choices for flavored syrup but they did have pumpkin for all those pumpkin lovers. We would definitely come back. read more

I really love this little coffee shop tucked away off of Hollywood blvd. The coffee and matcha are excellent. Love that they have pistachio milk. The atmosphere is cute and cozy and there is seating outside which I love. There's also a pickup window which is convenient if it's busy inside. I've been here a few times and Alexia is awesome! Great customer service, very pleasant and sweet. Our drinks were perfect and we got the turkey sandwich and breakfast sandwich. Both were amazing! Perfect amount of everything. The barista Alexia was super sweet, friendly and welcoming as soon as I walked in the door and I really haven't had any good experiences with the nearby coffee shops. Cute neighborhood coffee shop, right off of Hollywood Blvd. THE FOOD The avocado toast was good! Nice, thick slice of sourdough with a good amount of avocado, and a romesco sauce (I think...). I didn't know the toast came with any sauce, so I didn't ask what it was. On the menu, there were two options that I couldn't have, so I just asked for "plain avocado toast." I saw it came with a sauce when I got back to my place. So, if I'm right about it being romesco, this option is vegan. Also, it was just $6! Kind of unheard of for avocado toast. THE COFFEE I ordered a hot vanilla latte with oat milk. I think the oat milk was an additional $0.50, but I didn't keep my receipt. It was a good latte. There were hints of sweet vanilla notes, but you could still taste the coffee -- which I like. Their coffee beans are also ethically sourced. THE VERDICT They have a small, but quality menu. They had two small tables right outside for seating. The prices are also reasonable for Hollywood. The staff (who I think was the owner?) was friendly. He seems to be invested in the community. Solid spot for coffee. I usually judge coffee by their dripp or cold brew. I ordered a cold brew and my boyfriend ordered a cappuccino. The coffee was strong and had some fruity notes. Slightly tangy but not overwhelmingly so. We came here specifically to grab a small bite before catching a movie. The food options are limited but tasty. I ordered the ricotta and fruit toast while my boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich. The food was simple but good. My toast had ricotta and a fruit jam topped with pistachios. The only "down side", which is not really a down side, is the size of the establishment. It is meant to be more of a grab and go. There are some tables outside but it just keep this in mind if you have larger groups. read more
