My guess is that the powdered sugar was included to mimic the appearance of an almond croissant that folks are more familiar with. When I have ordered pastries here, they have often come out simultaneously burnt yet still cold, or never the right temperature. Service is hit or miss. Oftentimes, the person who works at the front seems really apathetic and unfriendly. The music playing outside is really loud, and they refuse to turn it down, so it makes it impossible to hang out or get any work done in their outside seating area. And alarm bells in my head always go off when I see a business owner respond to a review in the tone that the owner did to one of the reviews on here.
