On the opposite side of Dallas to see the grand and traffic headed back to Arlington was a disaster. We decided to take the "scenic" (and expensive I might add), route home and hunger set in. Stopped here because we used to eat here all the time when we lived in Rowlett. Anyhow there was an issue with having a server at first but once that was rectified it was smooth sailing. Nathan was our server and he was great. Hubby ordered his old time favorite here with the meatloaf served on mashed potatoes and green beans. He said it was every bit as good as he remembered. I did the same and ordered the stuffed chicken breast with fries and added a cup of French onion soup. Everything was excellent. Ended up adding an espresso martini and left happy and feeling good. Would most definitely recommend this place is you are ever in the Firewheel area of garland. read more

Yesterday, we stopped in for a quick cold beverage and were surprised by the HH portion of spinach dip ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ just over 1/4 cup with so many chips! It was HH pricing, but I would rather have paid the extra few $$ for the entire portion. I'm curious about the size of the whole portion. The lettuce wraps were tasty! I need to find out where to get their mugs because theyre heavy and absolutely awesome The eggrolls are absolutely amazing and sauces are great and tasty For my entree I had the meatloaf and hands down that is the best meatloaf I've ever had. Compliments to the chef because the flavors are strong and blend well. I had green beans and mash potatoes and it Complimented the dish well. The place is like a more sophisticated chilis or closer to the feel of a steakhouse. Its very pleasant and when I went 4pm Monday it was very quiet and peaceful. Let's start with me saying that their happy hour is great when it comes to price. Having said that, the food wouldn't be quite worth the cost if I wasn't ordering off of the happy hour menu. The food is par and for happy hour it's great! The service is great, friendly, and the ambiance in the evenings is nice because they have fire pits and a big patio. The facility is nice as well. I will definitely revisit happy hours but outside of that I don't know if I would go during non-happy hour times. The dumplings were the best thing that I've tasted off of the appetizer menu. It took a few minutes for Kyle to get to us, but he was very friendly, and he recognized us from a prior visit. I had a draft beer and my wife had a Pink Elephant, and a Grapefruit Jalapeño Martini. We ordered a cheeseburger with fries and some lemon pepper wings with fries. The food didn't take long to come out, and it was hot and fresh. I ordered the Mai Thai which was very good. Our server was phenomenal, very upbeat and pleasant. I ordered from the Valentine's Day menu: the Blackened salmon, which wasn't blackened at all. I think it was undercooked to be honest. Everything else - potato souffle, brussel sprouts, appetizers - crab & shrimp dip, prime rib egg rolls were absolutely delicious. I didn't eat any food this time around. This visit was my first since COVID. I must say the spirit of the bartenders have declined since I last remember. I believe two things make a good Happy Hour-food and drink options at affordable prices and two-the care and vibe from the bartenders. A good bartender will have you drinking more because of the conversation, care, and attention to the crowd. This place lost that. Houlihan's is great for a date night, family dinner or lunch after church. Typically, we start with the bacon wrapped shrimp (deeeelish!) and Houlihan's has brought their amazing Prime Rib back!!! The Fish and Chips is outstanding and plenteous for a massive appetite (teen son) and the specialty drinks are always yummy. I intentionally left the service for last...my parents are elderly and it is becoming more and more difficult to find restaurants that cater to the elderly. I love Houlihan's! Every single time I've been has been a great experience! I took my friend out to lunch for her birthday and she lives right down the street from the Firewheel location in Garland. As always, the restaurant is stylishly decked out. I love the lantern vignette on the ceiling! They have cool decor and a really lovely ambience. Our server was very friendly, had great recommendations and was very attentive. The lunch menu is awesome. We started with lettuce wraps which are some of my favorites. They are served with lettuce leaves, wonton strips, yummy chicken and a tangy and tasty sauce. I loved the drinks that they had on special, my friend got one of the tiki cocktails and it was really delicious not to mention adorable in the little tiki cup. My niece got a blueberry mojito which is really delicious as well. We all had a really hard time deciding what to get because there were so many options to choose from on the menu! For lunch I got the salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans served with a dill sauce. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was so flavorful! I was so happy with my meal. So. GOOD! My friend had the baked potato soup and ahi tuna salad and my niece had soup and a caesar salad. Everything was delicious! We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and probably over ate because it was so dang delicious. This location is very convenient at the Firewheel town center. We like the patio when the weather is pleasant. We have consistent service and great food every time we come. The restrooms are fully stocked, but room for improvement in their cleanliness in the women's restroom.... The inside of the stall door and walls were gross and the floor was sticky, which makes for a not so pleasant experience. The food is great, although we miss the Parmesan frites. We were looking for something casual and not over priced around firewheel. 730 on a Friday - no issue getting in and service was spot on. So friendly, attentive and no pressure. He wanted the lettuce wrap app and I wanted shrimp so we got both. The spicy shrimp was exactly what you would get anywhere. Good. But, the lettuce wraps were fantastic. Normally, we like minced and spicy. But, thess had large chunks and a sweeter sauce. Soo.... Good. Happily have two sets of them. My dinner was the sea scallops, large portion. The cook wasn't super even but they still tasted good and the risotto was flavorful. He got the french dip, which we had low expectations. We love a good Chicago style and usually the meat is too thick or bread too thin or terrible ratio of meat to bun. This was perfect. Crusty bread which didn't get too soggy, good ratio of bun to meat and shaved thin. The horseradish sauce was good enough to dip fries in it. Overall, how can you go wrong. read more

This is our local go to place for its food and drinks. Everything was always great until the evening on Fri 6/2. First there wasnt a sign for happy hour area seating, so we got charged full price for our 2 drinks. Then we asked for the desert to go and we got a brownie instead of cheesecake. 2 people 2 drinks 2 meals at 635pm The Manager came over to show us the "Fine Print" on the last page of a pleather menu tucked behind the ketchup/pepper holder. Came here on Christmas day with my grandpa because it was one of the only places we could get reservations. I have never tried this place before so had no idea if it would be good. First off, all the staff were amazing. Our reservation was at 4pm which is also the time they closed, but a staff member called us to confirm the reservation and assured we wouldn't be rushed through our meal. At the restaurant, our server was friendly and had such a cheerful attitude. Everyone made it a great experience. For the food, we both got the all day fix for $22.99 which included an appetizer, entree and dessert. There was so much food we ended up taking the dessert and half the entree home so its a good deal. We also got the calamari which we both enjoyed but we don't eat it much so are no experts. The house salad had shredded lettuce which I wasn't a fan of but thats just me. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. Garlic green beans were crunchy and seasoned well. The mashed potatoes were too salty for me but I still ate them anyways. Lastly, cheesecake was soo tasty! My grandpa also enjoyed his meal with his favorite being the baked potato soup. We are so grateful for his place making our Christmas experience a good one and the staff members for working the holiday. read more

The wings came out over cooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside and doughy. We grew up going to Houlihan's at NorthPark Mall in the 1980's so we were thrilled to find this location. Our server was Carren and she was amazing! So friendly and very helpful with menu sections. Same delicious Famous Mushrooms - just like I remember. We went for a date night and sat on the lovely patio. It happened to be Happy Hour so we ordered lots of small plates to share. Interestingly this is one of my favorite go to's, today however I experienced very unique service or lack there of. I was seated quickly, the restaurant was brisk but no overrun with guests however I sat for roughly 10-12 minutes with waitstaff all around me and not engaged even for a beverage order. I waited until it had been 15 minutes with no engagement and I stepped out to take a business call. After my call I stepped back in and the gentleman that seated me asked if I had ever been approached after seated, I said no....Then another young man rushed up and immediately attempted to apologize and explain he had a 12 top upstairs and it was really messing with his mind??? He assured me it was all his fault and he was not purposely ignoring me.... I explained that I did not think it was ignoring but rather poor staffing. I asked for a card for the general Mgr. I was informed there were no cards but Her name was Carmen and just call the restaurant and ask for her, he even said please tell her it was all his fault??? Several of these comments from the server were odd, I am sure earnest in thought but very lacking to someone who frequents the location for business lunches/dinners. Very unfortunate all around. So alas no food was had today at this establishment and will most likely not be on my list any further. As shown the Corp. PR person did reach out, Mr. Deegan and I actually spoke on the phone. I explained I was not looking for free food or special treatment In this instance. I was reviewing the lack of service that I received and that I did not feel I could in good conscience return to this location. Again he offered to send my vouchers for dining but that will not correct poor staffing or my feelings about the location in question. I do applaud his reaching out none the less. read more
