Loved!!! I ordered…read morethe pastrami gumbo for lunch on a hectic afternoon and it was the perfect blend of Jewish food and southern cuisine. It's unique and unexpected, and I really enjoyed it. I also got a package of chocolate rugelach. They were so delicious, reminded me of my Bubbi's. They've now moved to City Kitch - which is a ghost kitchen in Wesley Heights. It was a cool setup. You can order online or at the kitchen and wait. I ordered online and walked over, and it was so easy to pick up the food! Plenty of parking if you need it. Anyway, I'm glad Meshugganah is here, bonus points that I can walk to pick up on nice days. I hope they expand the menu and look forward to enjoying again soon!

I loved Rob Clement when he was at The Porters House, so when he started a Jewish Deli popup…read more(something Charlotte desperately needs), I was in. Covid-19: all ordering and payment can be done online. You select a pickup time too. I'm not sure if he was running behind when I was there, but I still had to wait about 30 minutes for my food. Ordinarily, this wouldn't bother me. I really don't like being inside with other people during the pandemic though, so my only feedback would be to figure out a system so that people can just run in and grab their food. Onto the food... The menu is different at each popup. We got pastrami sandwiches and matzo ball soup. This was the best pastrami I've ever had. It was so fatty and thick. The rye bread he uses from Verdant Bread is delicious. The mustard is perfect. I will say, I'm not sure how to eat it as a sandwich. There is so much meat and the bread isn't sturdy so it kind of fell apart. A messy sandwich doesn't bother me though as long as it's delicious (and this one was). I'm sad I missed his Latkes for Chanukah and am excited to see what else he brings to Charlotte at future popups!

Comfortably tucked away restaurant with 5-star personality and menu…read more We loved our visit to Copper Crown. Not knowing what we were in for, we were very, very impressed. From environment, to food selection, quality of food prep and cooking, and service, everything was spot on making for a night impossible not to enjoy. The fish dish we ordered = spot on! The salad with grilled chicken topping = delicious. Service, thanks to Sara, was impeccable. Sara was kind, funny, helpful, checked in regularly, and super friendly. We absolutely loved our experience at Copper Crown, and when we're in AVL next we will most certainly be stopping by again!

Despite staying downtown, we prefer to patronize less touristy places and this was a great choice! Just a few miles away, this cozy busy restaurant earns its ongoing popularity. Wednesday offers $5 off a glass of wine which was a pleasant surprise. We were fortunate to find a last minute reservation and happily sat at the bar. California pinot noir and sauvignon blanc were very good and we appreciated the different vineyard selection. We decided to split our meal: Bang bang shrimp, different presentation with a spicy aioli smear on the plate which was a nice complement to the fried shrimp Roasted broccolini was tasty and not overcooked . Again, aoli requested on the side. Maybe it is a regional preference for aoli on so many items? House made potato and French fries were both very yummy Brussel sprouts were delicious, nice garlic chili type of glaze. Feta, meh addition for me Trout entree was fresh and we loved the red peas and sautéed greens. Glad we asked for the sauce on the side. Tomato coconut flavor was unappealing. Bartender and service were spot on, highly recommend!
