Meh. Not as good as we expected. Some good. Some bad. One friend had lasagna and liked it. Not great but satisfactory. Other friend had Philly sub. Was satisfied too, but commented that shes had better elsewhere. My wife and I split a pizza and 10 wings special. Wings were okay but IMHO not quite crispy enough. The inner half of the pizza was wet and gooey. Couldn't really hold it. Cutting with knife just tore it apart. I would not get it again. Bottom line? We wont be returning. We ordered pizza over the weekend, hoping for a delicious meal as usual. Unfortunately, we were EXTREMELY frustrated with the amount of green peppers on our pizza. We ordered a large pizza, so the additional charge was $4.20. For that price I was expecting plenty of peppers- see the photo... SO disappointing! I feel like this was NOT worth $4.20. There was even an entire slice that just barely had a piece of tiny pepper on it. We gave Merrell's a try because a co-worker was telling me how good their chicken parm sandwich is. He drives about a half an hour to go there so I figured it must be pretty good. My best friend says, "if a place can't make a good cheese pizza, forget it!" I ordered the 18 inch cheese pizza, and an order of the garlic knots. The pizza crust was unlike anything I have ever seen before. It was so thick it looked like a cannoli. The pie was also very saucy which was visible when you opened the box. The cheese didn't go up all the way to where the oversized crust began either, and it lacked in flavor. The garlic knots were okay. They were more Parmesan cheesy than garlicky and a little dry. The girls who helped me were really nice. No complaints about service, but I don't see myself returning. read more

My wife and I quite liked Merrell's Pizza in the early years after it opened in Greer. Then, a year or so ago, we were very disappointed in a Merrell's pizza, and went elsewhere for some time. Yesterday I decided to see if maybe that previous pie was an unfortunate anomaly, and we ordered a large pepperoni take-out and paid extra for extra pepperoni and extra cheese. I'd say the pepperoni topping was meager even for a pie without the extra pepperoni add-on, and if someone had handed me a slice and asked how I liked the cheese, I'd have responded 'What cheese?'. Extra Cheese? I'll be danged if I could detect any cheese at all on the pie. The crust around the outside of the pie was good, but where the sauce and supposed cheese and pepperoni covered the crust, the crust was soggy. It's sad. I ordered Italian sausage and DOUBLE pepperoni. Two of the slices had one piece of pepperoni and One slice had NO sausage at all. I will NOT be back. And Merrells is by far our favorite local pizza joint and has always been a great experience. I cannot recommend them enough times to our friends in the area. We order carry out for parties, Friday nights in on the couch, for all the things. We have been eating here about 2 years now and we always find ourselves coming back here over anywhere else in the area. Edit- I ordered again tonight and I just have to rave about customer service also. My pizza arrived with olives which seems like no big deal but I just can't stomach them. Unfortunately, as much as this place was recommended, we will not return. We went in on a Saturday afternoon and the server at the register (Jennifer) who took our order, acted like we were greatly inconveniencing her. She appeared to be greatly put out by the simplest questions. We had never been there before and apparently because we didn't know how it worked, it pained her and tried her patience to explain it to us. Very immature and unkind. Twice I stood at the counter and both times two kitchen staff guys saw me..... literally looked me in the eyes - and ignored me. And never alerted the cashier/server that I was there. And when she came to me she had a puss face and I apparently was bothering her again. When I got home, I went to their website and contacted them about the awful experience. To their credit, I quickly got a response, an apology and an offer for a gift card to give them another chance. I appreciated HIS customer service, thanked him and turned down the gift card. Unfortunately, no desire and we won't be returning again. The restaurant was clean and the food was good, but customer service will always be just as important for me when I make a decision as to whether I return or not. I read the other reviews here and feel that the manager truly tries to make things right when there are negative experiences. Hopefully some staff changes are made. read more

We ordered a gluten free pizza and a regular one. The crust on the gluten free was too undercooked. It was gummy and limp. The crust on the regular pizza was pretty good, and a bit chewy. The toppings were good and added in good portions. The sauce however...I know it was there - I could see it. I just couldn't taste it. My guess is the sauce just wasn't seasoned, it was quite bland. Having spent $42 on the two pizzas, I expected then to taste fresh. I suggest they punch it up a bit. I'll go back to try one more time, it was good enough for that. read more

I ordered the Spartan pie and my husband ordered the chicken Alfredo. We just went in and devoured the food before I even thought to take photos. Best pizza in Greer. Hands down. And I love Wild Ace.
