I love a good salad, and Merrell's Pizza in Easley has a good salad. I did try the Mile High pizza on thin crust without mushrooms and onions. Their Mike High pizza is like a supreme pizza. It had Italian sausage, pepperoni, black olives, green bell peppers and extra cheese. I didn't like the pizza, it was only just ok to me. The toppings were on the skimpy side, not sure why it's called mile high, and the crust was very dry and tasteless . I have only dined inside one time, and that was years ago. I usually do carry out , and service at picky is always friendly.I'll stick to their salads, they are the bomb!! The 5 stars are for their salads. read more

Even though we couldn't tell if the open sign was lit and the hours painted on the doors said Merrell's opens at noon on Sunday, I tried the door shortly after 10 am because I had heard they served Sunday brunch. I am so glad I did. You can order from their regular menu or their brunch menu from 10 to 2 on Sundays. My husband and I shared the 12" breakfast pizza and loved our choice. The crust was wonderful and the breakfast toppings were well balanced and delicious. Another diner ordered the chicken and waffles; it was a large serving as well and on our list to share next. We probably went on a ridiculous day, as kids and parents were roaming the streets and entering businesses for Halloween candy. But this didn't seem to faze the staff. I generally have low expectations for most gluten-free pizzas, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the pizzas were good. This is unacceptable in every way, but I forgot both a picture And the name of the pizzas we had. Mine was the yummy pizza with Caesar salad on top, and hubby's was the meaty pizza. Right in the middle of downtown Easley's Main Street, they are in the rebuilt "Doodle Station" with a gorgeous brick wall breezeway with tables set up and giant windows looking out. Inside is huge, too, so they can easily accommodate large groups. Orders are placed at the counter and then you are handed a number for them to bring food out to you. What's great is that they offer pizza by the slice, and even offer pizza/wing/beverage specials for large orders or single servings. They have fountain soda, beer on tap (and cans/bottles), and bottomless mimosas on Sundays! I greatly appreciate that pizza can be served by the slice. They offer a ton of toppings, and the pizza is okay. It's not too thick, but the slice is pretty basic (still better than most in the area). The other night, we tried their garlic & herb wings, and those were fantastic! They were not overfried or dry, and had a ton of flavor. Unfortunately, I will not go there again. They will not honor a special request...even an easier one. My wife is pregnant and requested the rose sauce (that comes with the chicken parm$ on spaghetti. She cannot eat chicken right now but she loves the sauce. I was told they would not allow us to switch sauces, I even offered a $1-2 up charge and they declined. Their solution was that I could order a chicken parm at $6 more and have them leave off the chicken and cheese, which are what make that an expensive dish. On top of that, I ordered a delivery order, which they confirmed that they delivered 3 1/2 hours later as they "thought it was supposed to be delivered", even though they verified my address and that it was delivery. I had to wait 3 hours another time and they brought someone else's orders. As far as their food goes, their pizza is their strength and is decent...I actually liked it ok. I always try to sample different things. The wings are not worth getting and tasted like there is no sauce on them. The gluten free pizza is way over priced. Their Italian food (chicken parm, lasagna, Alfredo) is by far their weakness. 2 Bro's, Capris, and the Pizza House all have much better Italian food. I try to support local businesses. I've used them personally and Ive used them for work to cater pizzas to the local hospital. They were never my favorite, but like I said I try to support locally owned businesses. Definitely recommend! We've been twice so far. The most recent trip, my wife and MIL ordered a pepperoni pizza and I ordered garlic parmesan wings. We also ordered the cheesy rolls appetizer. The cheesy rolls were perfect! Just the right amount of cheese and the dough was very fresh. The pizza was excellent and, again, the dough was fresh- which is always a big selling point with me. The wings were pretty good. I would've liked a little more parmesan cheese on them, but I enjoyed them. Overall, the food was incredible! But the best thing we ordered were the cinnaballs. The best way I can describe them were that they taste like mini Texas Roadhouse rolls when you dip them in the icing. With them being small, they bring out an entire basket and they are so good! I like crust. When it's good. This is where its such a letdown. It's just flavorless The service is really lacking however. We saw - dozen people. None looked over the age of 20. We had to ask twice for our salad. The restaurant is very self serve. So I didn't expect much...but when the kids who bring the food have only one job...shouldn't they be good at it?
