What a lovely hotel! Historic and tasteful. Room was absolutely gorgeous ----king jr suite which has plenty of room to spread out and relax. Reception is welcoming and helpful AND even scored two vouchers for the restaurant ($15 each). Recommend this gem in Chico.

I cant wait to go back! Amazing location for a boutique hotel. Walking distance literally for all the shops, restaurants and bars. Comes with a continental breakfast. Bar and restaurant are located adjacent without having to go outside. (I did not experience either) The staff was very pleasant to work with dealing with a business credit card not in our name. The unique decor to each room takes me back to my childhood at my nanas house. The room was very dry but very clean. I was able to open outside windows to get some fresh air which was very nice. Over all would go back in a heartbeat simply for the location.

We stayed here for the first time on our most recent trip to Chico. It's a lovely hotel in the heart of downtown. It is a rebuilt version of the old building, which had once housed a hotel of this name, and the detail and care at recreating the style and decor of the early 20th century, inside and out, is excellent. It is classy, very clean, and comfortable. Service is great, and breakfast is available onsite, a continental breakfast during the week and a voucher towards brunch on the weekend. There is parking in the garage next door. It's a short, pleasant walk to anywhere in downtown or the university. The only negative points are that the shower, which has no hand-held part (all too uncommon in the US, unfortunately) is not very strong so showering is not ideal, and they provide only liquid handwash, not actual soap (also an increasingly common problem).

This was my third time staying here and this was my least favorite trip. It's the smallest room I've had here. The furniture is all janky and majorly knicked up so much it looks like crap. The door on the cabinet where the refrigerator is located does not stay shut and the knob is loose. The pillows were so thick I could not sleep on them. I ended up sleeping on the hard decorative bed pillow. When I checked in, the lovely gentleman at the front desk said the room they had for me was not ready so they were giving me another and nicer room. I'm wondering now what the first room was like. The hotel charges insane prices for massages that one would find in a big city. They also charge if you want an early or late checkout. I've never heard of such a thing in all my years of traveling around the world. Restaurant and bar are separate owners. We were here for a Valentine's Day event in Chico and only had cocktails in the bar, which the hotel provided two $15.00 vouchers. Each cocktail was $15.00 - very pricy for Chico. Both bar and hotel staff are very friendly. The Hotel Diamond needs a come to Jesus moment and realize Chico is not a big city and price gouging is not very welcoming. We will stay in an Airbnb next time.

The Hotel Diamond is the only property I will stay at when visiting Chico. I truly love this property in the heart of downtown Chico. They have a lovely & quaint bar on-site, with awesome customer service & drinks from Shelby, the bartender. We didn't get to eat at The Grill (on-site restaurant) this time, but look forward to having dinner there next time. We stayed in the Alisa suite which overlooks Broadway & I'm in love with this room! I absolutely adore everything about Hotel Diamond. The customer service, the decor, the variety of rooms, the location to downtown eateries/stores/bars and being a close 2 blocks from the beautiful Chico State campus. I would like to commend the hotel manager, Devon Garcia, who I've had the pleasure of dealing with since 2018 when my son started attending Chico State. He is always friendly & ensures my husband & I are well taken care of when coming to Chico. Thank you Devon. I look forward to our next stay at Hotel Diamond.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. One small inconvenience was that there was no iron or ironing board in the room, so I had to request one to be delivered. The staff handled the request quickly, though. Breakfast was pretty typical for this type of hotel, but it was convenient to have something available in the morning. My only wish is that breakfast started a little earlier on weekends. It begins at 7:00 AM, which felt late for me since I am an early riser. The location is very convenient, with several shops and restaurants within walking distance. That made it easy to grab food or pick up anything I needed without having to drive. The one drawback was parking. If you return to the hotel later in the evening and the hotel is full, finding a parking spot can be a challenge. Overall, it was a clean, comfortable, and convenient place to stay, and the friendly staff definitely made the experience better. I gave this hotel 5 stars considering it's a 3-star hotel.

We were having to go back-and-forth to the hospital for induction reasons.. When I called to make a reservation, whoever I spoke to was very kind and accommodating, and was able to get a King standard room on top floor and a quiet area so we could all get lots of good rest. The room.. very large. We were quite impressed with the layout, thoughtful design and how large the room was. We've been in plenty of hotels, and this is the first time I've ever seen a standard room as big as this one. The staff overall was really nice and accommodating. Some went above and beyond while others just did their job and that's fine too. Breakfast... It was really nice to have it available especially because we had to get up early each morning to head to the hospital. I do wish consistency was a little bit better. The first morning we had scrambled eggs, which were not the best and I didn't care about the potatoes. They didn't have much flavor. But the bacon (1st day) was good and the cinnamon rolls were good and so were the pancakes. I also liked that they had lots of other options. If you didn't care for the hot options, they had fresh fruit, milk, and juice, oatmeal, bagels, and muffins, etc. They had coffee, hot chocolate, apple cider, and tea, ready to go The second day was a little bit puzzling, but I enjoyed breakfast better. I preferred their cheese omelette, turkey, sausage, hash, brown, and biscuits and gravy on the second day . The other interesting part was the bacon on the second day was very different than the bacon on the first day. I think if there was more consistency with quality than I think customers Would appreciate it . Cinnamon rolls are pretty good though! They offer laundry services so bring quarters and they offer detergent in their little shop. They also have a pool and a gym. Overall, the hotel was really quiet inside and outside, even though you're by lots of other building buildings. There are plenty of places to walk to and go eat and there's a major grocery store next-door. Our hotel room had refrigerator and microwave. Everything looked clean and very updated as it is a new hotel. The biggest takeaways from me was the size of the room in the layout, some of the breakfast items, and some of the staff were very accommodating. The only Con I really had was the inconsistency with breakfast and the quality. But for not having to pay for breakfast, I thought it was a good deal.

They also have a waffle maker, oatmeal bar, fruit, yogurt, etc. Honestly, it's one of the best hotel breakfasts I've encountered in recent years. The rooms are nice, and I enjoy the modern styling. The digital key feature is awesome, letting you check in and use your phone as your room key without even visiting the front desk. The location is convenient and has lots around it, such as shopping and restaurants. It can be a bit tough to find at first because it's tucked so far back in a parking lot, but once you find it, there is plenty of free parking, some of which is even covered. They may have had free breakfast, but one with unbearable indoor pool and faulty bathroom door which trapped my daughter in for 20 minutes, another was obviously a pet friendly room which caused a huge allergic reaction and we needed to leave early- we had requested pet free-we were placed first floor with all pets, third was run down and carpets worn, service not great. Let's get to DoubleTree pluses... clean, welcoming and helpful. Needed grocery item and staff recommended S&S natural store next door, remote stopped working- staff brought one to room quickly with new batteries, after reading about breakfast chose rate that included breakfast- hot, good choices, plentiful, real dishes and not filled with too many people. Pool and hot tub maintained. Towels by pool. Didn't try bar or restaurant. Close to freeway. This will be our go to choice, as long as price is reasonable. BIGGIE- smart tv with LOT of apps- Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV, etc. DoubleTree for the win. Warm cookies too! Only cons- would greatly appreciate a microwave. I immediately reported it to the front desk, but I was told it was "just a cricket." Based on my previous experience working in pest control, I did not agree with that assessment. The room also felt sticky, dusty, and poorly maintained. I was so uncomfortable that I didn't even take a shower or eat anything while I was there because I just wanted to leave. Honestly, I felt like I would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car than spending another night in that room. For the price, I expected a clean, well-maintained room, especially at a DoubleTree. The lobby and market area looked nice, but the guest room was a completely different story. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet my expectations, and I would not stay here again.
