For this category hotel I would definitely give 4 stars. I always appreciate being able to check in early and luckily we were able to. The room was a very good size, mattress a bit soft but very comfortable. The breakfast was exactly what you would expect. I didn't love that the pool was an indoor pool but it's was fine. Would definitely stay there again.

This was a bug bite on my left torso.

Woke Up With Bug Bites! The next morning after my stay, I woke up with bug bites on my lower right leg by my kneecap and on my left upper torso. I immediately let the front desk know so they could have the room treated, but they didn't seem very concerned -- they didn't even want to see proof. A gentleman at the front desk said someone would reach out to me to resolve the situation, but no one ever did, and it's been about 5 days. On top of all that, the breakfast was disgusting. The eggs were so watery, the waffle mix was gross, and I was super disappointed overall. I would not recommend eating there either. Overall, I'm disappointed with how my concerns were handled. Guests should be aware that there may be bug issues in this hotel, and poor-quality breakfast -- and don't expect much follow-up if something goes wrong.

The Hampton Inn and Suites is a newer hotel in Chico. We weren't planning on staying here until I realized that if we didn't switch hotels, then I would have a long drive to Bend, Oregon the next day. We arrived at a little past 5 PM. Check in was quick and easy. We were given a nice room on a higher floor. The room had 2 queen beds as we reserved. Hanging on the walls of the shower are their dispensers of ZERO Shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Outside next to the sink are the ZERO dispenser of hand soap and body lotion. The room was comfortable for enough for me to get a good night of rest. Breakfast could've been better. It is the new and improved corporate breakfast of packaged western style omelets. Pork patties were good and the biscuits were decent. Coffee, fruit and juice were provided. The Hampton Inn is a good hotel for a one night stay. The front desk manager was good and friendly. I wouldn't mind staying here again if I was passing through.

Hotel is nice but the customer service is completely lacking. Disrespectful and rude.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. One small inconvenience was that there was no iron or ironing board in the room, so I had to request one to be delivered. The staff handled the request quickly, though. Breakfast was pretty typical for this type of hotel, but it was convenient to have something available in the morning. My only wish is that breakfast started a little earlier on weekends. It begins at 7:00 AM, which felt late for me since I am an early riser. The location is very convenient, with several shops and restaurants within walking distance. That made it easy to grab food or pick up anything I needed without having to drive. The one drawback was parking. If you return to the hotel later in the evening and the hotel is full, finding a parking spot can be a challenge. Overall, it was a clean, comfortable, and convenient place to stay, and the friendly staff definitely made the experience better. I gave this hotel 5 stars considering it's a 3-star hotel.

Breakfast area was full of hotel guests and the staff did an excellent effort in making sure breakfast items were stocked and available. Our suite was very roomy, included two tvs and a very comfortable bed. If there is an Oxford Suites Hotel close to the area on my next trip, I definitely will book a room there.

And the best part is that Tilly the general manager came to my aide when I needed a favor, and I even saw her work the laundry room herself. What a hard working staff. We have really enjoyed our stay at the holiday inn. My husband and I decided to stay in Chico as we…read morewere getting ready for the birth of our third child. We were having to go back-and-forth to the hospital for induction reasons.. When I called to make a reservation, whoever I spoke to was very kind and accommodating, and was able to get a King standard room on top floor and a quiet area so we could all get lots of good rest. The room.. very large. We were quite impressed with the layout, thoughtful design and how large the room was. We've been in plenty of hotels, and this is the first time I've ever seen a standard room as big as this one. The staff overall was really nice and accommodating. Some went above and beyond while others just did their job and that's fine too. Breakfast... It was really nice to have it available especially because we had to get up early each morning to head to the hospital. I do wish consistency was a little bit better. The first morning we had scrambled eggs, which were not the best and I didn't care about the potatoes. They didn't have much flavor. But the bacon (1st day) was good and the cinnamon rolls were good and so were the pancakes. I also liked that they had lots of other options. If you didn't care for the hot options, they had fresh fruit, milk, and juice, oatmeal, bagels, and muffins, etc. They had coffee, hot chocolate, apple cider, and tea, ready to go The second day was a little bit puzzling, but I enjoyed breakfast better. I preferred their cheese omelette, turkey, sausage, hash, brown, and biscuits and gravy on the second day . The other interesting part was the bacon on the second day was very different than the bacon on the first day. I think if there was more consistency with quality than I think customers Would appreciate it . Cinnamon rolls are pretty good though! They offer laundry services so bring quarters and they offer detergent in their little shop. They also have a pool and a gym. Overall, the hotel was really quiet inside and outside, even though you're by lots of other building buildings. There are plenty of places to walk to and go eat and there's a major grocery store next-door. Our hotel room had refrigerator and microwave. Everything looked clean and very updated as it is a new hotel. The biggest takeaways from me was the size of the room in the layout, some of the breakfast items, and some of the staff were very accommodating. The only Con I really had was the inconsistency with breakfast and the quality. But for not having to pay for breakfast, I thought it was a good deal.

They may have had free breakfast, but one with unbearable indoor pool and faulty bathroom door which trapped my daughter in for 20 minutes, another was obviously a pet friendly room which caused a huge allergic reaction and we needed to leave early- we had requested pet free-we were placed first floor with all pets, third was run down and carpets worn, service not great. Let's get to DoubleTree pluses... clean, welcoming and helpful. Needed grocery item and staff recommended S&S natural store next door, remote stopped working- staff brought one to room quickly with new batteries, after reading about breakfast chose rate that included breakfast- hot, good choices, plentiful, real dishes and not filled with too many people. Pool and hot tub maintained. Towels by pool. Didn't try bar or restaurant. Close to freeway. This will be our go to choice, as long as price is reasonable. BIGGIE- smart tv with LOT of apps- Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV, etc. DoubleTree for the win. Warm cookies too! Only cons- would greatly appreciate a microwave. Bed frame needed adjustment-metal sticking out and even though we tried to avoid- bumped into it! Thanks for good stay DoubleTree!

I immediately reported it to the front desk, but I was told it was "just a cricket." Based on my previous experience working in pest control, I did not agree with that assessment. The room also felt sticky, dusty, and poorly maintained. I was so uncomfortable that I didn't even take a shower or eat anything while I was there because I just wanted to leave. Honestly, I felt like I would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car than spending another night in that room. For the price, I expected a clean, well-maintained room, especially at a DoubleTree. The lobby and market area looked nice, but the guest room was a completely different story. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet my expectations, and I would not stay here again.

It had 2 separate bedrooms with queen beds and an attached bath in each of them. The central space was a large living room and a kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. The space was great, not only did we have all the amenities we needed with the kids, we could also host friends who swung by to visit. Considering the COVID corridor we're in today along with yet another bout of fires ravaging NorCal while we arrived, all safety precautions were followed well by the hotel. It was clean, and well maintained. We couldn't have asked for more considering how challenging things in general are these days. The one point I'd like to call out, is that if you're new to the area, this place is right next to 'Courtyard by Marriott' and that can make it a tad confusing. We almost went in to Courtyard first as the main entrance to it is a lot larger and more noticeable than Residence Inn's which is probably because the latter is an extended say facility.
