Positives: nice bar and eating area, hotel is clean, large, great staff, helpful, friendly, and professional, full pool and hot tub that comfortably fits up to 6 even though it's zoned for 8 Negatives: no tub in the room, small for a suite, window curtain mechanism odd, a guest kept shutting off the hot tub so the staff had to reset it. It was frustrating and took time to be reset. Breakfast is included for Hilton club members and we didn't get that information until the last day of our staff and the staff were not sure of it either. read more

All I know is that this very rude & racist Mexican girl called my phone this morning accusing my husband of stealing borrowed iPhone charger on Saturday night at the Hilton Double Tree in Chico, CA. This woman was very accusatory, insisted he did not return the charger, it was not in the room, not up front, so he must still have it. My husband went to the front desk Sunday morning to check out & dropped the charger off at the front desk. We have a multiple chargers at home, we don't need to STEAL one from the lost and found. My husband could not remember the name of the person he left it with he's 78 years old & regardless this woman spoke to us in a tone that deserves termination. UNBELIEVABLE. I asked this young lady multiple times to speak to a manager, asked the managers name, asked her name, she refused to give me any names, put me on hold multiple times, never came back, hung up when I tried to call back, left me on hold again, never got the manager. I AM OUTRAGED THAT AFTER GROWING UP IN AMERICA WITH EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE WE HAVE TO NOW PUT UP WITH PEOPLE THAT COME HERE AND TAKE OUR JOBS & TREAT US WITH TOTAL CONTEMPT. We stayed here for two nights, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel is very clean, and everything in the room worked well. The staff was friendly, and we felt comfortable during our stay. The amenities were up to par, and the location was convenient for our needs. It felt like a solid choice for a short stay. However, the jacuzzi was a bit of an issue. Since it's February, we decided to use it twice, but the bottom of the jacuzzi was very slippery, which made us feel unsafe. I nearly slipped and fell in both times we used it. It was definitely a concern and something the hotel could improve to make the experience safer and more enjoyable for guests. read more

When a restaurant member handed me a check I was confused. Both hotel and restaurant staff treated me with respect and I had no problem paying the bill as it was my mistake. The DoubleTree was our first stop on our roadtrip. This DoubleTree is an older, yet remodeled property. We were checked in by Brianna. We were upgraded to a pool view room. However, since it was on the second floor, my wife rejected the upgrade and instead were given a room with a great view of the roof along with the solar panels up there. Not a big deal since we arrived late and it was too dark for us to see anything and left early the next day. The room itself was adequate. It had a king bed as we reserved. There was a large screen TV. It had a lot of table space for work. There was no clock in my room. Management said that there is normally a clock there. The bathroom was normal for a hotel. The shampoo, conditioner and soap were from Crabtree and Evelyn. Breakfast is complimentary for Hilton Gold and above members and was served downstairs at the Sycamore Tap and Table. Gold members and above are given $15 in dining credit where you could either choose the buffet, or the menu. Overall it was a good one night stay. I was able to get a good night sleep to drive the next day. read more

Front desk was very nice when we checked in. Our room smelt so much like chemicals, had to leave the window open. In fact a day later my suitcase still smells. Bathroom floor was tacky, shoes kind of stuck. No extra blanket in the room so used a towel because it was a cool night and the heater made so much noise. Well i'm usually pretty easy to please. So I'll start by saying I was greeted at the counter very nicely,but not when i checked out. Check in with very easy. The room was pretty clean OTHER THAN THE BOOGER , THAT WAS ON THE MIRROR. My problem is i was looking around for coffee or tea,Like most other hotels and I didn't see any so I walked over to the bar, big mistake cuz I thought it was connected to the hotel but they're separate. They're lacking customer service skills there,not very nice.And i askd them where the tea or coffee was , and they said they didn't know , and I said well , "I probably have some in my room". And they said they didn't know they've never seen the rooms. They she said she had some tea.So I said, what kind? so i chose black tea, and chamomile tea? , she gives it to me and then rather loudly says six dollars. I'm thinking , where am I at two tea bags are six dollars. Then I handed her my cup.She was gonna give me some hot water,And she goes do you want me to put it in the cup and i'm like , yeah , it was just a really awkward. It didn't feel like the customer service at the hotels i'm used to .It felt kind of off.. Then I went to my room to find the exact same tea in my x small room Anyhow, I had a reservation for a week next month . I switched it to the Hilton Hampton over by the mall because i'm very comfortable over there and they have tea and coffee and a nice breafast they're super nice and no rude bartenders. I understand it's a bar attached to a hotel now. when the bar is like feet from the check in counter , it's deceiving. I've been staying here forever, back in the Holiday Inn days, well before it became a Doubletree. Since it became a doubletree, it's super nice. They renovated at some point and rooms are modern, the downstairs is a nice hangout spot. They have EV chargers but it's excruciatingly slow so I'd go elsewhere for that. I told the front desk and they said they would make a note of it for the morning maintenance person. It was still cold in the morning at 10am. Told them again about it and still not fixed. In mid July, drove into the Hilton Doubletree in Chico California, without reservations. Since it was not during a school move in/out or holiday, they actually had a room at a reasonable rate. Paid $120 with my Auto Club discount. Yay! Pros: Great front desk service Nice size room, with a large King bed and TV. Room included a refrigerator and coffee maker. Bathroom fixtures were nice, shower was huge. Staff working in the lobby restaurant during dinner and breakfast were very, very nice! Cons: Room 427 was far, at the end of a long hallway. The door lock was really bad, it had obviously been forced open at one point. There was a huge gap between the frame and lock.. way to wide to the point i considered asking for another room. (But didn't want to walk all the way back.). The door handle was also installed improperly. You have to lift up on the handle instead of push down. I asked them to repair the door and handle at check out the next morning. (Front desk staff said, oh we have a lot of handles where you have to lift up :). See pic of door gap. "Note: My room 427, was the only room down the entire 4th floor hallway that had the door gap issue. " Air Conditioner was extremely loud, and no way to control it. read more

Overall, I had an average experience for my one night stay here. There is tooth brush and tooth paste available upon request at the front desk. The hotel has sanitizing wipes in their lobby and there is free parking. I heard DoubleTree is known for their complimentary warm cookie, I wasn't offered one during check in, but I asked later on and they gave me one. The cookie was good. Unfortunately, there is no complimentary breakfast and no microwave in the room. During the day, the weather is in the 90s. The thermostat for the AC unit in my room wasn't working but good thing the manual setting on it still worked. During the evening and morning that I was there, the business center with two computers were not working and couldn't print. read more

So really everything about the hotel was what I would say " perfect" until it got dark and I saw at least 3 different roaches in the room And that was it for me !!! All the goodness was gone . I could barely sleep because I felt like. If there was 3 there was probably more . I felt like they were going to crawl on me in the bed !!! Not COOL at all ! I have stayed at literally thousands of hotel all over the US, this is the first time that I had to pay for breakfast. The price was ridiculous, $37.95. The food was bad, the scrambled eggs were over dry and tasted terrible. I ended up not eating them. There was not much left to eat. I gave two stars because this hotel is a huge maze and you have to walk long hallways more then one to get to your tiny room. The room was clean. We had to park in the back of the hotel. I will not be staying at hilton or any hotel owned by hilton again. I could have stayed at the best western for less and had a normal sized room and free breakfast. I just stayed at best western two weeks ago, and it was excellent. read more

This visit we were in room 427 and it's showing wear and tear unfortunately. It's still a go to hotel at this point, but it's not getting 5 stars this visit. There was also an issue with the morning lady giving us the diamond credit after the young lady at check in told us we had credit. Shampoo and body wash were empty upon arrival and I didn't notice the bottles were empty until I was in the shower already. It looked like someone also took the last tissue in the box and tried to make the tissue box look full, but there was literally only a single tissue in the box. So I had no tissues, no shampoo, and no body wash. Also, there are no complimentary waters at this Hilton with your stay and the prices for a bottle of water is $10 a liter. So if you like coffee, they do offer coffee in the morning but you're still spending almost $10 a liter on water. Overall, blah. read more

Okay so I was lucky to be able to use my Hilton points for the Chico State Graduation and get into this hotel in first place. Now this isn't at all a fancy hotel but you know the room was okay, the AC worked fine, the shower and bath were okay too. The room is small so 2 people are cozy in it but this is a-okay and gave us what we needed. Bonus as Gold member you get $15 credit or more points and they had a covered roof with electric car chargers for free. I was pleased to put my hybrid S-Class mercedes out of the sun and able to get a full battery charge for high quality chargers (ClipperCreek same ones I have at my house) for no charge. Overall if I had to come to Chico (doubtful) I would stay here again. read more

Unfortunately, he told me that breakfast would be served from 6am-10pm, I arrived at 9am to find a note saying no breakfast today. Very disappointed. The rooms are clean, and it's got ample parking. Easy to get in and out of. The front desk clerk was pretty annoyed that we asked to transfer our points to my husband's account even though I made the reservation. She actually rolled her eyes at us when we asked for two cookies so my husband could gave one too... but maybe she was just having a bad day. read more

I can't say I had any real problems with the hotel overall. Had it not been a Hilton, I would say it was fine. Hilton, however, has a reputation that this hotel did not meet. I'm trying to recall if I have ever been in a Hilton other than this one that did not have a microwave. The door to the room did not close on its own and the door to the shower leaked. The room itself was rather dark, and I thought maybe it was just me until another guest made the same comment. The clock beside the bed had a huge plug, which meant you could not plug anything into the outlet beside it. While I do not need my room cleaned every day, there was no notice that it would not be cleaned and it wasn't for two days. The room is smaller than average as well. The staff were exceptional, though, making extra efforts several times to accommodate us. If you want a decent hotel, this one works just fine. If you want a Hilton, you probably won't be satisfied with this place. read more

The guest rooms here were nice, average pet-friendly hotel. I was here for a conference, and the staff was very attentive and ensured that our needs were met. The facility was clean, they were also very kind to the attendees. They were able to accommodate me for early check-in and floor preference.
