    Dirty tule floor.

Front desk and breakfast staff are VERY friendly and professional. CLEANLINESS was an issue. Unfortunately, the room had borderline cleanliness. The bathroom floor was dirty (see photo). Floor in the bathroom was dirty and smelled like urine. The carpeting in the elevator needs to be cleaned.

    A little parfait?

We came up for a mini trip up to Chico and stayed at this hotel. Although it wasn't downtown, it was pretty close by. Our room was pretty standard and although we didn't have a fridge, we liked the couch and lounge area. We used points to book the last minute trip and got a free stay, the room was nice. It's good to know you can use your points and get a good room. I routinely workout each morning, so I made use of the treadmills in the gym. They don't have much equipment, but I liked it. I didn't really get to the pool, since it was indoor and we had access to an outdoor pool at our friend's hotel. I bought breakfast from the cafe downstairs and brought it to our room. The egg white sandwich was sooo good. I ordered my guy a parfait, coffee and orange juice. Perfect little breakfast in bed. I would stay at the Courtyard again when visiting Chico.

Dirty hotel. Staff is nice enough but whoever is managing simply doesn't care about details.

The host told us they didn't have any roses but came out with a little bouquet! For the dinner part, we were expecting a little more. The complimentary cornbread wasn't great in our opinions, but I'm sure others may like it. It's clearly homemade and comes with 3 different butters to put on top. We ordered the Salmon and Smashburger and they were both definitely over priced for what it tasted like. The salmon didn't have a lot of seasoning so it sort of tasted like something we'd give our cat. The sweet potato's on that dish were also not the best. The smashburger, in my opinion, would've tasted better if I got it from In N Out across the street. The entire burger just tasted like meat..no seasoning and there was maybe a drop of their aioli on the burger so all in all it just wasn't the best. I would've had a better experience at In N Out. We also ordered the Wagyu meatballs and never received them. We thought it was taking a minute to cook but all we got instead was the check..he didn't even ask us if we wanted dessert. We had wanted to check out their dessert menu and possibly get their strawberry shortcake but I guess that wasn't in the cards for us. We also ordered a cocktail and mocktail. My wife's mocktail (Kava Mule) was great! My cocktail (Horchata Mai Tai) was genuinely the strongest drink I've ever had. The flavor was nice if you could get past the amount of Bacardi they poured in there. Every drink I took felt like I was taking a shot. So with all that being said, unfortunately we won't be returning to Rancher's Daughter. Between the bland and expensive food, the forgotten about meatballs, the check rushed to our table, and the drinks..it's just the not the place for us.

We really had high hopes but were let down. We shared the complimentary corn bread, the arancini, and the hummus crudite. I had the turkey Thanksgiving dinner plate and my husband had the tri tip Thanksgiving plate. The starters were okay - cornbread was a very light texture and the butters that came with it weren't that good. The arancini was fine, just nothing too special but didn't come out very hot. The hummus didn't taste like much and came with a ton of bell peppers, Kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, and some pita. The turkey dinner was not good. The mashed potatoes and the turkey were okay. The root vegetable medley was not good and the stuffing was terrible, it was so mushy and weird. The gravy on the mashed potatoes already had a film over it like it had been sitting out for a while and was not hot at all. I also got an espresso martini that was not good. My husband got the horchata Mai tai - he liked it. My husband said the tri tip was okay but overall the plate was disappointing. They also mentioned on the phone that they would give us a complimentary dessert for my husband's birthday but never brought anything out. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a busy night and might give them another chance with their regular menu entrees but I don't have high hopes.

Was saddened that not one member welcomed us to your lodge either evening, with the exception of the bartender asking for our membership card. Both nights we saw governing members of your lodge, yet not one of them came over to welcome us, introduce themselves, ask where we're from, what brings us to the Chico Lodge?? etc.. Wednesday was your burger night, we thought about staying, but since No one had even spoke to us, we felt unwelcome, we decided to go elsewhere for our dinner!! Your Governing personal needs to pay more attention to strangers in your lodge, If I'd been someone looking to join the Elks, I'd have walked out, not interested in returning!!! Every lodge is struggling to get new members, pay attention to how you treat strangers in your Lodge!!! Also, if I'd been from the ABC, a couple things I saw, I could have shut your lodge down for 90 days!!!!!! Wake up and pay attention to who's in Your Lodge!!!! It makes a big difference!!!! To set an example, went into a Elks Lodge in Oregon, within a few minutes the Exalted Ruler had introduced himself, welcomed us to there Lodge, introduced us to other local members, the bartender housed our 2nd drink, with a welcome to the lodge, was invited to join a group for there dinner!! Such a huge difference than the way we were treated in Chico.... Wake Up Chico!!!!

It was a long, tedious ritualistic endeavor. It was expensive too. $400 for both of us. Then covid hit. We only used the lodge 2-3 times total for meals, we don't drink. I asked them if they would extend our membership and they said no, we had to repay! Since then, 2 different couples have told us they are members and the cost is $200 for a couple. The husband becomes the member and the wife is included. I asked them about it. No refund offered. This dishonesty makes me question the whole club. The rituals taken from the freemasons, known to be not good, was creepy too.
